I think madonna is really great. some people say that she is a "has-been" but, if she was then would you be talking about her? obviously, she matters if so many people have such strong opinions about her, good or bad. she is totally genuine and real. she isnt fake at all. she is smart, talented, and amazingly beautiful. She also is incredibly strong and confident. she is definitely a living legend.

Is there anyone cooler than Madonna?? I don't think so. She can do anything she wants to and it's almost guaranteed to be popular. She's reinvented herself fo many times it's rediculous. Another coment said something along the lines of "she'll be little more than a footnote" in a few years. Even if you don't like her, you have to admit this isn't true. She has influenced music and pop culture and fasion and just about anything else you can think of. She's the Material Girl. She's THE goddess. Give it up for Madonna; like it or not, she's been here and she's going to keep being here.

Never was a big fan. She can't sing that well, especially compared to some of the other talent out there. She CANNOT act. She isn't even that pretty. She's had a few hits, some I liked some I didn't. I don't really respect her "reinventions of self" either. Be who you are not just what you think will sell at the moment. She's hailed out!

This was recently reproduced with Britney Spears, another talentless performer who through very clever marketing, pulled the wool over kids eyes. Unfortunately, you don't have to have any talent to be a star today!

She is what an entertainer should be - inovative, creative, ever-changing, daring, talented, etc. Madonna has already proved herself, otherwise she wouldn't be arond that long. Her music was changing and still is because she is very clever, she goes for a specific genre for a specific time. She started as a pop singer(I think she considers to be pop), then shiffted to dance to r&b to techno. Who knows what will come next. I think her being so unpredictable is so appealing to many people. Not only she changes her music styles, ahe also changes her image constantly attracting more media attention. And of course there goes her sexuality which she is so open about. She's being honest to her viewers, not trampy, not sluty, but honest and open, as if she has nothing to hide. I think many people misinterprit her honesty and take it as an insult. I think this woman is phenomenal. i hope she stays around for at least another couple decades.

I despised Madonna for most of her career. She is a shameless self-promoter, a horrible actress, and can be quite disgusting at times. However, she redeemed herself in my eyes with Ray of Light-an instant classic. Every song on this CD is terrific and I know a lot of Madonna haters who love this CD. Without it, she would only rate 1 star from me. Because of this masterpiece, she gets 4.

Why can't we give zero stars? This no-talent skank has led pop music down an almost irreversable decline. We have her to blame for Bratney Spears and Christina Agitator. And the worst part is how much media presence she commands! You can't watch VH1 for more than twenty minutes without seeing her fat head, inflated ego, phony British accent, and arrogant attitude. Bee-yotch with a capital B.

You're kidding yourself if you do not see her as a legendary star, right up there with Aretha Franklin or any other female icons in the music world. I'm not happy that she's helped to rip the moral fiber of society, either, but from a business standpoint, she was genius to push those sexual boundaries thru her music and dress. I dont hear anyone being so outraged at J-Lo's, Britney's, and L'il Kim's lack of clothing. Madonna paved their way in sexual perception/acceptance by the media and the public.Frankly, she's much classier than many of the untalented nudiechicks that are so popular in '02!

There hasn't been one musician, male or female, who hasn't scratched, kicked, spit, pissed off, swung punches to get their way to the top as much as Madonna has. I'm a classic rock nut, but her ambition and tenacity was immense when she was trying to get her foot in the door and when she did, she defined the music world, the video world, and the fashion world. If I recall, I think she gave me my first erection when I saw her on TV, so for all of that, I can't give her anything less than five stars. I'm not a fan of her entire catalog, in fact some of it I can't stomach, but "Ray of Light", "I'll Remember", and "Secret" are my three favorites.

'Music' may not have been her greatest work, but she is still a modern classic to me. Back in the 1980s, when she was true Madonna, she broke down alot of barriers within society and never backed down in the face of adversity, never to afraid to be honest.

Madonna is awesome...her antics might have been questionable over the years...but I have really enjoyed her music over the years. It's not the 80's unless you hear "Holiday" "Crazy For You" "Like A Virgin" "Into the Groove" etc...Her later stuff is really good as well. I really liked her in "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "Evita". She is a true superstar!

The ultimate case of style over substance. Her music catalog is basically a collection of disposible pop songs. Her one true ability has always been to get attention by calculated moves to be "shocking" and create controversy-- and by changing her look every year. A master of marketing and self-promotion, yes. A great musician, no.

I actually liked Borderline. And a couple of her other songs were catchy. But she's so self absorbed. She thinks of her music and videos as art. But her "art" is centered around herself and her sexuality. True art should be able to stand on its own, apart from the artist. She's not a musical innovater, as some try to portray her. She's a mere pop singer, and not one of the better ones.

I am totally against censorship and feel that MTV should air the video for "Justify my Love." Madonna definitely had and still has an influence in the music business. Once again, she is not one of my favorite musicians, but I have to give her credit for the progress she's made throughout her career. She obviously has many fans.

If Madonna had never performed with her over the top sexual inuendoes she wouldn't have gotten nearly as far as she has. Usually I have an instant attraction to blondes...regardless of their talent. Not so with the Material Girl. I've always felt that she tries too hard to get attention and being too outspoken makes her that much more unappealing. I did like her in A League of Their Own though.

Look at the body of work. Hell, look at HER body. You can not deny the career she has had. A monster talent with a great ear for good music. Easily the biggest female rock star ever.
