PAUL rules!

Paul McCartney seems to have been the melodic and harmonic "leader" of the Beatles. His inspirations were from Tin Pan Alley composers of the 30's and 40's so that his songs had more interesting chord changes and melodic intervals than what was the norn for the day. With very little musical education he has proven to be a Pop genius. I do wish he would learn how to notate music, it could only help. He has alluded to this. His songs are timeless and bring out the emotions that music was meant to. His influence on Lennon is obvious when listening to some of John's tunes that have a few chord changes that are not what one would expect. Hearing the unobvious is what Musical Art is all about. Plus they make you feel good. McCartney deserves more than 5 stars. Only 2 or 3 people a century come around like Paul. God Bless Him and his musical integrety.

Paul is great, though not my favorite Beatle (George is). Master songwriter, bass player, singer, etc... I really admire him for all the work he's done for animal rights as well. An outstanding musician and person! Go Paul!

GO PUAL! still alive and kickin!

Someone's knockin' at the door. Someone's ringin' the bell...do me a favor and put him out of his misery.

I have listen to him since I was a baby(70's). I use to go around the house and sing his songs all the time. I love him.

the third best Beatle. What a jackass!!!1
sunny184 10/02/2001
ahhh..sweet Paul. "Yesterday" should have been listed under his most popular songs.
TheFreak 08/30/2001
The best Beatle---by far. None of them were EVER worthy of five stars, and I used to think that none of them were even worth four. However, Paul has proved me wrong. He's such a fantasic musician, and he deserves some of that insane popularity John Lennon got. I don't even like John Lennon that much. But you, Paul, YOU are the one for me (or at least---you are the beatle for me.
callmetootie 07/30/2001
His early days with The Beatles weren't very good, but Wings was awesome!

Brilliant songwriter, great singer; solo or with a band. I just want to know one thing....please explain the Michael Jackson duet thing.
Wheeze 07/07/2001
One of the greatest song writers ever! My favorite Beatle.
abbeyroad81 07/07/2001
He just may be the greatest writer of melodies to ever sit behind the keyboard. Good Lord, what a genius.

I've always loved the lads from Liverpool as a group, but Paul, who became my first celebrity crush way back in 1964 at the age of nine, will always remain the most special. As I grew older I soon realized, along with the rest of the world, that the phenomenon that was the Beatles was due in no small way to the unique combination and talents of Paul and John. My pre-teen crush grew into a very real admiration for both of them. Of the two, Paul was most attractive to me because he seemed least troubled, kind of easy going and just comfortable in his skin. Oh, yes and the gorgeous, hypnotic eyes and lyrical accent didn't hurt either. As time past, I was happy to see him find love and become one of the lucky ones - especially in his line of work - to hold on to it. Throughout the final days of the Beatles and the decades following, I continued to smile every time I saw his photos, enjoyed his music and thought well of him in spite of any bad press or criticism that may have been printed or broadcast. I still love to hear his voice, still marvel at his talent, and still wish him well. May you rock on forever Sir Paul - you certainly always will in my heart!

Well when i was younger he used to be my favorite Beatle but now i love George's songs more. Sorry. Sometimes Paul annoys me. don't know why.
MedgarEvers 06/28/2001
Paul has a great tenor voice. A great songwriter and bassist, too. He had a few sappy tunes that I can't get into, but overall, McCartney's had a great solo and band career.
labyrinth_gurl 06/18/2001
HE IS AWESOME! EVEN THOUGH I DID ENJOY THE BEATLES BETTER THAN WINGS HE IS A VERY GOOD ARTIST! HE HAS COME A LONG WAYS SINCE THE 60'S AND 70'S. EVEN AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE HE KEEPS GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING.....!
beatlebabe1943 06/15/2001
Paul deserves 5 stars because he was part of the greatest, most legendary band ever, the Beatles!!! I have to say though, that George Harrison is and always will be my favortie Beatle. Paul just added so much to the Beatles, without him, it just wouldn't be the same. He contributed so many great songs. If it wasn't for Paul there wouldn't be Let It Be, Here There and Everywhere, Hey Jude, Yesterday, the list goes on and on. Plus, after the Beatles, he had a great solo career. I don't think it was wrong at all to have his wife in Wings. She was a beautiful woman with a great voice. She really loved Paul and stuck by him thorugh his rouch times. So what if Paul wanted to spend time with his wife? Is that a crime?
ThePatriotfan 06/12/2001
I think Paul is just absolutly amazing. He is a great songwriter, seems to be a nice enough guy, & he is not bad looking for his age. And he has been around for years. He is a legend & always will be a legend. Some of his songs are so beautiful, such as "Yesturday". I mean yes there is not much to it, but what is there is beautiful. I know a lot of people are like but he is soo old, & yes he is old, but not only has he done so many different things with & after The Beatles, but old people RULE!! : ) So I say, whatever anyone else says, your still my favorite Paul.

I don't understand how people can say that Paul Mccartney isn't great. First, he was one of the main members of the world's most popular rock and roll band ever. Second, he has continued to create hits in the last three decades after the Beatles. And last, he is so diverse and has extremely rare talent. He has written and been involved in projects for his own artistic needs...not just trying to write pop songs to make quick cash. He is a billionare and doesn't need to satisfy weekly changing pop tastes. He is artistically free and continues to challenge himself in ways that most artists don't have the capability and talent to do and the financial freedom to do.
supergirl972 03/16/2001
paul mccartney is the greatest musician of all time, plus he's hot. n e one who says otherwise is WRONG!!

The man who invented the recipe for a hit pop song. I'll ALWAYS love him!

Very smart artist.
Libertyman 02/06/2001
The guy was great with John Lennon, and vice versa, but he sucks as a solo artist.

ever since I was 5 years old, I have loved The Beatles. ever since I was 12 years old, I have loved Paul McCartney. He has gone out of his way to lead a normal life and lucky for his family, he and Linda succeeded. anyone this family oriented and yet wildly talented and successful gets my vote everytime. it also doesn't hurt that he is absolutely gorgeous.
lavalamp123456 7890 01/03/2001
Whoever can even name one negative comment about Paul McCartney should take a long, hard look at their life and wonder why they are so pathetic. Sir Paul is the spokesman of every generation so far, and No not only old people like him. I am 14 years old and the Beatles are my favorite band!Keep on rocking Paul!
JenSecret74 12/14/2000
A real goof. Did you know he shows films of sheep being slaughtered before his concerts? I can't stand these famous people who HAVE to shove their views down your throat.
RollinsTar 12/12/2000
McCartney really is one of the few artists that go beyond what is considered a superstar. He has been involved in so many diverse projects over the years that it would be impossible not to consider the amazing impact he has had. His lyrics are more impacting than any in the history of modern music. Clearly genius in his ability to create it should come as no surprise that he is an above average musician as well. The driving force behind the Beatles biggest hits, Paul never lost his touch in the years to follow. His record speaks for itself. Today writing classical music to good reviews, McCartney has made an impression that will never leave music, and now it enters the realm of imortality by trancending his original feild. This man just rocks on and on...

How to rank Paul McCartney, the musical GENIUS of the greatest band of all time, the Beatles? Do you even need to ask? Definitely a 5. In my opinion, if Paul McCartney doesn't deserve a 5, no one does. He wrote such hit songs for the Beatles as Hey Jude (their longest running #1 song, 9 weeks at #1) and Yesterday (the #1 pop song of all time, as picked by MTV and Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Pop Songs) He is the musical genius of the 20th century..... Plus, Paul wrote a song for John's son Julian (Hey Jude). In my opinion, that is the sweetest thing that a singer can do for someone they care about. Is it just me, or was Paul a better father to Julian than John was??? Paul was the bass guitar and one of the lead singers (along w/ John) of the most influential, innovating, and controversial rock band of all time, THE BEATLES!!!!!
Savage 11/17/2000
The man is a genius. The fact is he was more productive that John Lennon with the Beatles and after the beatles. Name 10 of the Beatles greatest Hits-- Who wrote them-- Odds are 80% of those you named were Paul's - Hey Jude, Get back, Let it Be, Yesterday, The end of Abbey Road, Seargent Pepper, Drive my car etc. etc. etc. He is the worlds number one song writer as per the guiness book of records, and has ammassed more hits after the Beatles than with. Ie. Uncle Albert, Another day, Silly love songs, Say Say Say, Band on the run, Let me roll it, Put it there, This one, Maybe I'm Amazed, etc etc. Paul is here to stay and anyone who thinks differently should better educate themselves. He is a rare specimen in a world that is slowly going mad!
Beatlesfan81 11/01/2000
Well yes he was a Beatle and for that he gets an automatic 4 stars but I give him the extra 5th star for his album Flaming Pie ..for those of you who have not taken the time out to listen to it..give it a try if you like him..you will love it. I love you Paul!
Lou28JG 10/19/2000
What is it with these people who think that their wife has talent? The same for McCartney's old partner. Some of his songs were catchy, but most of them were just "Another Day".
fisheyedfool 09/26/2000
All you have to say is, that he was a Beatle.
