Jodie Foster is one of my fave actresses. However, she has put hollywood on hold to focus on raising her 2 children. smart move in my opinion. Jodie seems very humble, down to earth and just wholesome.

Jodie Foster is a very talented actor with a unique acting style. I've really enjoyed most of her movies. I thought that she gave a wonderful performance in "The Accused" as the trailor trash girl who is raped in a bar. It seemed that she was SO into that role. In "Silence of the Lambs", there again seemed to be a unique sense of work ethic there and I again felt that as in "The Accused", Foster had actually become her character. So much so, that the sequel to that film, "Hannibal", really didn't do much for me because Foster declined playing Clarice again. She also gave great performances in "Sommersby", "Anna and the King" and "Contact. Most recently, I also enjoyed "Panic Room". In the final analysis, Jodie Foster is a wonderful actress with her own unique acting style who is dedicated to her work she chooses her roles carefully, and works hard to become those roles.

Amazing actress!

You know at first I rated her a three, and I was ready to go on some of the critics' assertions about her in here. But I went back and watched Silence of the Lambs again (hadn't seen it in years), and I realized that there are very very few actresses (I can't think of any) that could've pulled off the role as she did. Clarice Starling is one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen on the big screen. She was very complex: tough and ambitious yet at the same time unsure and delicate, embodying all the strengths and weaknesses of a bright and eager young student, and she could've been botched very easily. When I try to think of other girls attempting that role, I can just picture them trying to beef up (and flatten) the character, whereby ruining the whole movie. I haven't seen a whole lot of Foster's other work, but the ones I remember (Contact and Anna and the King) both lacked direction to make their extravagant visions (and budgets) very compelling, and I could see her (along with her coactors) putting forth a focused effort.

To me, she is one of the greatest person on earth. Not just actress. She has brains and I cant believe people are rating her as terrible. These people have probably only a fraction of her IQ and sex appeal. Just remember her stunning performance with DeNiro at age 13 in taxi Driver! She has a french litterature degree and dubs all her movies in french herself. She speak better french than most french-speaking persons which is amazing especially coming from an american woman. We are all humbled by her body, mind talent and accomplishments.

Whether you a enjoy a movie she is in, I think you have to admit that Jodie Foster does an excellent job in it. She brings a touch of class to anything she does.

She always has been a good actress. She was very good as a child actress always convincing and never once going for "cutesy" she was wonderful as a child prostitute in Taxi Driver. and into her adult years she has done some very good roles. Silence of the Lambs, the Accused etc. A good director as well. I liked the movie Little Man Tate. that she directed.

No doubt she is the best, in any role she is PERFECT! HER FABULOUS ACTING in"Contact", not speaking about "The Accused' and " the Silence of the Lambs"... Wish for her all the succeess possible! and many years of life!

Highly intelligent, almost too much so to be considered sexy. But its not just that. She has a syndrome kid of like Brooke sheilds...Pretty but just not sexy for some reason. Its imperfections that make women sexy and she doesn't have any to speak of. I think whe would have made a good excecutive. Probably is. Nothing outstanding here.

Alum of Yale Drama school. . .Loved TAXI DRIVER, THE ACCUSED, and of course SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. Sexy, smart, and plays very interesting characters. She can't be any lower than the top 3 American actresses of the past 20 years.

What a talented, beautiful lady she is. I liked "Contact" a lot...she seemed perfectly suited for her role, and was as natural as ever.

I don't like a lot of the roles she chooses, but she plays them like no one else. Does anyone else remember her as a child star on the TV show, "The Courtship of Eddie's Father"? She was great in "The Accused". I think that was actually her best role. And, you felt her pain in "Silence of the Lambs". Here's an actress who's not just another pretty face - in fact, as actresses go, she's not one of the prettier faces, but the feelings sure do show.

WOW! Jodie foster is an incredible actress and person. She really knows how to protray her roles. In the movie Nell she does an amazing job playing a girl whoes mother took her to the middle of nowhere at a young age to "protect" her from the world. And in Maverick she and actor Mel Gibson to a fabulous job together making a quirky laugh out loud comedy about the west. overall i think jodie foster is a great actress and has really built up her talent over the years!

Not only Jodie Foster is a cute and spunky actress, but i also do admire acting skills. From her potray of an innocent girl from the outside civilisation in Nell to an overcaring mother in Little Man Tate, Jodie definately deserves 5 stars.

I never quite understood all the hoopla about Jodie Foster – she comes across as just so BLAH average to me. As a child actress she was unusual – very bright but kind of odd – with such a deep voice you had to do a double take sometimes to tell if it was a boy or a girl. When she returned to acting after her college days she turned in a few decent performances and was suddenly lauded as one of the great actresses of our time. I don’t think she has quite lived up to that expectation. I would go so far as to say she is good; but she still comes up missing something I can’t quite define. That and I keep thinking of her dancing around holding her dress up like a two-year-old in “Nell” … CHICK-A-PEA…eeeeh, what an unbelievably embarrassing movie and bad choice of roles.

Well, what can I say? Personally, I think that Jodie is one of the best actresses of all time. Just watching any of her movies would tell you so, not to mention her 2 Oscars. I have not watched all her movies [yet:)], but everything that I've seen for her has been grade A material. Her movie "THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS" is one of my favourite movies of all time. Also, one of the things that I like the most about her, is her choice of movies. She chooses her movies not based on if she thinks they'll be great hits or not, instead her choice is based on what she thinks of the characters and the movie itself and wheather it is something that she feels she has to do. Hence, her passing on the movie "HANNIBAL". In my openion she is one of few in Hollywood that deserves to be respected. She is talented, intelectuall, stylish, and not to mention sexy.

She's one of my faves. She was one of the few child actors who were not only not annoying, but really skilled. I love her for the varying parts she plays, and she's been good inall the movies I've seen her in. She really carried "Stealing Home" that movie would ahve been pretty bad without her, and I thought she did a great job acting and directing in "Little Man Tate". Also in "Alice Doesn't Live Her Anymore", she was very good

I developed a crush on Jodie Foster after watching the movie "Little Man Tate", in which she play an over caring mother. I also found that not only she is beautiful, she also has the ability to express her emotions in movies she stars in and im looking forward to watching more of her movies, she needs to star in more light hearted dramas.

Jodie es una de las mejores actrices de Hollywood, en el sentido profesiona, porque en todas sus películas demuestra que tiene un talento formidable. Escoge siempre papeles muy interesantes y los realiza con mucha efectividad. En el Silencio de los Corderos me dejó impresionada, hace su trabajo muy fácil y eso es muestra de que es una gran actriz. Pero en el ámbito personal, está bien que no quiera decir nada de su vida personal, pero creo que en este sentido no le es muy favorable, esto de que no quiera decir de qué padre son sus hijos y si es o no lesbiana, creo que no defiende demasiado su aspecto externo. Además no sé si es cierto pero a veces se excede en su intelegencia hasta tal punto que se vuelve arrogante. Que creeis sobre lo que he dicho? besos: GLORIA.

Jodie Foster has had only one really good role, but before I give her credit, I have to say that the role was extremly winning and is one of the most looked upon chracters in history of filmmaking in the past or present future. Her role as Clarece in Silence Of The lambs won her an academy award, and I can't recall if she won it, but she deserved it, and recieves full credit for her role, opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins.
