Another Clinton lap dog!

He sometimes stumbles over his words, but my biggest complaint is that there is too much feel good news. I would like more hard news, about important issues, and less feel good sob stories about individuals problems or achievements. fuzzarina

BAD FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AS A NEWS CASTER TOO BYIST

Go for Broke! I'm gonna give him the old dudemonger thumbs up! He's definitely a very likeable. I really enjoyed his "The Greatest Generation Speaks" get the audio tape for road trips it's gripping.

As a reporter/news anchor he does a great job, obviously very intelligent and doesn't get rattled...But like the topic indicates, Tom and the others are "Personalities".

During the Gulf War, I somehow thought that Brokaw was good, down-to-earth guy. Now I see him as the epitome of liberal elitism. I'll never forgive his "coverage" of the Republican National Convention in 1996 when Nancy Reagan presided over a really moving documentary about poor, sick Ronnie. As though to counteract the heartfelt applause in the conventional hall, Brokaw comes back in a clearly disdainful tone: "Iran-Contra, sky-high deficits, say what you will... but this crowd clearly loves him." Contrast that with Brokaw's silence over Clinton's numerous scandals: China espionage, selling of the White House and abuse of FBI files and intimidation via the IRA. And it was Brokaw himself that tried to shut down his own networks work on Juanita Broaderrick's very credible charge of rape against Clinton, which the President still hasn't denied! This guy is a big loser in my book.

Of the three network anchors, he has the most personality. He is always interesting when he is a guest on Letterman.

Probably my favorite nightly news anchor. Brokaw is intelligent without being arrogant and professional without being sterile. His reporting tends to be fair and even-handed. Plus it's fun to imitate the way he talks.

The best of the "big three" network anchors -- but that really doesn't say much any more, does it? I'm probably being too generous here, but he did write a nice couple of books about veterans...

My personal favorite. He strikes me as someone who could have been an effective politician or diplomat through his charisma and communications skills alone. I was watching a special which was basically like a biography of Tom Brokaw's career - this guy has met pretty much every newsworthy person on the planet.
