This comic strip was good at one point in time. There used to be continuing stories and recurring characters (such as Nermal or Jon's family) that kept things interesting. Now this is one of the lamest comic strips in the newspaper. It's like watching a sports superstar, long past his prime, playing for a really bad expansion team. There is literally no variety in the contents of this comic strip: Monday: Garfield smashes a spider. Tuesday: Jon can't get a date. Wednesday: Garfield watches TV. Thursday: Garfield smashes a spider. Friday: Jon can't get a date. Saturday: Garfield watches TV. Sunday: Garfield smashes a spider in front of Jon and his date, in COLOR. Oof.

An all time favorite. I remember being a Garfield fan my whole life. One other thing I've wondered; whatever happened to that Lyman character?

This use to be a wonderful strip, but now Garfield and John have just gotten repetitious and pathetic.

It is one of my favorites to see Garfield and Odie in their little comic strip in the paper.

I haven't been able to grow up with Garfield very well. Jim Davis seems to have been running out of ideas lately. Looking back on some of the books, some strips are clever and funny, but some are just monotonous and silly.

This strip has had the funniest sight gags in the comics section and deals with life in a way a lot of people can relate to!

This is one of the most hlarious comic strips out there. I dont think there has ever been one comic strip from Garfield that I didnt think was funny. Garfield will always be the funniest cat and thats why I am giving this a 5!

Garfield is my favorite comic strip character. I like it how he eats lasagna and pushes Odie off the table. The holiday specials on TV were great. Jim Davis did a nice job creating Garfield

It's getting a little old; I only laugh aloud once every few weeks.

I only know Garfield from when Jim used to do the strip.(and want to start collecting the books) He was the most sarcastic, funniest little cat. The relationship with Odie was definately love/pretend to hate and with Jon, it was telling the undiscussed issue of the animals own the owners and the house! Still love Garfield.

This strip used to be very funny, now it's horrible. Horrible. Horrible. What happened?

JIm Davis no longer writes nor draws this strip. It has no heart, no humor. Just an endless series of repeated gags.

it was funny in 1978.

A cat witch is as lazy as me! Cool with everything you can identify with! :-)

There is nothing funny about Garfield..John is a pathetic loser, Garfield is a fat, egotistical cat..I don't get the humor.

I used to love Garfield when I was little, which is kind of embarassing now because this comic is so bad I feel physical pain when I read it. Did I just get older or did Garfield get that much worse?
