She is the one that I would love to see run in 2012, so much so that I want to work heavy on her campiagn.

The Democrats would love to run against her in 2012. Her motivation of the GOP base is more than compensated by her mobilization of the Democrat base and her ability to fundraise for the opposition.

Whatever her political skills, (and I suggest they aren't as bad as they've been painted) she would have a major hill to climb to overcome the present perceptions of herself with a majority of voters. Historically, very view politicians have managed to overcome a significant negative perception in the voters minds. Nixon did so, between '62 and '68, but he's pretty much the exception.

Good effort by Palin during this election. Shes like a kid from the JV who was pulled up to the Varsity by the head coach. She was thrown in over her head, gave it her best, but obviously isn't ready. I don't think that a couple years of seasoning will be enough to help her improve her image to the general population. Sure she is likable, but people just don't take her seriously. I expect her to run a primary campaign, but I don't see her getting the national nomination. Perhaps the Republican Party would have been better served by introducing her to the nation with a knockout speech at the Convention, and then bringing her along slowly for 2012 or 2016. So much focus on her so quickly did a lot of damage.

I can't see it. 

If you're a demo, you're begging, praying, pleading for this stupid c#nt to come back- every time her sexy yet stupid mouth opened pounds of cash/millions of dollars poured into demo coffers.  She's one of the greatest demo fundraisers I've ever seen.  As she waxed about how hick towns were the real America the cities and suburbs (you remember kids- where the real money's at) all kinds of people and organizations broke out the wallets to buy themselves her absence.  To think there are repubs who want her back.  To think that demos are begging her to stay because she earns millions.  Hilarious.  Hey sexy, the real America of the 'burbs and cities (full of elitists) just crowned you.  As for me, due to her fundraising potential I'm burning a candle and asking someone else to pray to a false god for me - "Pleeeeease stay.  ..oh pleaaaaseeee!!"

Palin will attempt to make a run in 2012, but she won't get the nomination. As I see it, she has the same problem that Dan Quayle had: she simply cannot be taken seriously. Palin could try to recraft her image, but like Irishgit said, outside of Richard Nixon, very few candidates have been able to swing such a transformation. Of course, Richard Nixon's problem was never that he wasn't seen as serious, rather it was that he wasn't personable or "media friendly", as people in the advertising industry say. That clearly isn't Palin's problem, as she's a very good retail campaigner. However, you need more than that to win the Presidency.

Populist conservatives along with evangelicals love Palin, but I don't see how she can expand the base outside of those core groups. She's going to have a hard time convincing the primary electorate to give her the nomination in my view.

Scary as it may be to some, Palin 2.0 could happen.

She really made a fool of herself on SNL.  Dont know if i could take her seriously anymore lol
