04/26/2005 | What I always dug about Spawn was that he wasn't merely another one or two-dimensional cliched superhero. In a sense he reflects the best and worst in all of us, as he is both good AND evil, or at least has the capacity to be so. Has literally been to hell and back and I respect him for that. And not to sound PC or anything, but his character happens to be black too (without making a big deal about it), so that's also kinda unique amongst such characters. The movie Spawn didn't generate the best reviews, but perhaps some of the critics were subconsiously comparing it with more run-of-the-mill, familiar superheroes (Batman, Superman, etc), which IMO you can't really do, as Spawn is truly one of a kind. The makeup artists clearly went nuts in that film though - it must've taken days to plaster on some of those wacked-out looking, crazy-faced characters. Long live Spawn!

03/22/2004 | Spawn is an interesting hero who has a very interesting story. I must say, I really did like the movie! I remember as a little kid having a Spawn comic book that I liked. It was great artwork, like forgotten hero, says. Also the book kept me interested in Spawn's adventures.

03/19/2003 | Spawn is quite possibly one of the greatest comics of all time. The art is beautifully well done and the stories are intelligent. The concept of a hero from hell shatters the stereo-type of super heroes being only good, pure-hearted people. Anyone who thinks that spawn is too scary should go back to watching Telletubbies in their Wonder Woman under roos.
