when I was a child my goal was to marry mighty mouse. i have a nostalgic love for him but in recent viewing of classic mm cartoons I am struck by his priggish attitude. Jerry Falwell in tight with mouse ears.

Mighty Mouse ROCKS. It always amazed me that such a little rodent could clobber countless numbers of cats, wolves, Bad Bill Bunion, and of course, his archenemy Oil Can Harry, all while rescuing Pearl Pureheart while singing a capella. The only rub about Mighty Mouse was that he always had a sneer on his face. And he always snagged the girl in the end. For mice, those girls had some pretty slinky curves and wore seductive makeup and clothes. All told, MM was cool!

It's been so long ago now, but there was once a time when I was very much in love with this operatic mouse. And, yes, I can actually say it now - I even preferred him to Mickey at the time. Mighty was my hero and he saved many a cartoon viewing day for me. Even Andy – as funny as his bit was - could not cast a pall on my high regard for the one and only Mighty Mouse. It's good to see my old flame making a small comeback (is there any other kind for a mouse?) in one of the Power of Cheese commercials.
