Hm, while i was reading "Mein Kampf" i realize that he was nothink special as writer. In some opinions he was write and told the truth,in other he was just a funny guy.
Hitler(and maybe Stalin too) was the last real politician, he believed in a vision and he wasn't a manager of big companies like the modern ones.
He made Germany from a poor country, too a big powerfull nation, that's why German people loved him.
But... he send the kids of Germany to a war and finally he destroyed what he built. I don't believe that he was a monster(or more monster that other modern criminal leaders) amd i don't believe to the Jewish propaganda. I think he was an honest fanatic.

He may have restored Germany's power, but his arrogance laid the whole thing to waste. A few clever moves in the beginning, but in the end he left most of Europe (especially his beloved Germany) in dire straits...

Oh yeah, and there was the whole evil thing as well...

Hitler was an evil men that could convert the entire civilized nation into gang of the cold-blooded killers. There, who were opposing the new politics, were killed as well. Ther, whose belonging was supposed to support Germany, were killed as well. He cannot be blamed entirely for creating the killing machine. He just lead the country, that was ready for that.

I should give him 5 stars for the greatest Idiot that ever lived. Why would a human being praise the legacy of this dirt in the ground, and this lost burning soul in hell? He simply was a loser! The power this turd had, he could have done great things for humanity, no , he threw it all away with his crumbling empire of evil, for what? Zero! that's what.

Adolf Hitler was a great and terrifying leader. He transformed the German Worker's Union, a forty-member, anti-Semitic, nationalist union into the Nationalsozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (abbreviated the NAZI party) in the space of a few years. His "Socialist" party efforts brought Germany out of the depression. During his reign, he solved unemployment, raised the Germany economy, politically united Germany, completely ruined the Treaty of Versailles in all but name, and reclaimed the German provinces lost in World War One.
He "spoke so that one would feel like he was part of some vast and powerful movement. He was able to stir the crowds into such fervor that they would agree to whatever he said." As a gesture of his power, he resigned from the German Workers Union for a brief period of time, which left the party in shambles, and only returned after it's committee members agreed to give him full dictatorial powers over the entire party. He was the sole backbone of the party, in charge of the propaganda, posters, brochures, speeches, meeting places, and party platforms. He was a master at his work, using strategies such as red paper to catch the eye and varying the sizes of the letters to match how he would shout or talk in a speech. A year after he had joined the party, there were over 3000 registered members and a common attendance at each meeting of 6000 people. The party even had its own newspaper. And everything thanks solely to his own efforts.
But let's not ignore the fact that he was an idiot. Let's assume for a moment that he never created concentration camps, never severely limited the nations rights or silenced those who opposed him, never attacked the Jewish race or promoted prejudice against any of the races he targeted. He's still an idiot. He made many errors during World War Two, including:
-making false assumptions about World War One, which led him to make many errors during World War Two
-foolishly attacking Poland when he had Europe in a position of power. Had he declared peace, we would now " be discussing the 61st anniversary of the Pax Germana"
-exploiting the conquered nations for slave labour and murdering the Jewish populations, which resulted in the "creation of partisian bands which severly limited the potential for the German Army", as opposed to making peace and receiving support from them
-making a treaty with Russia to destroy the only thing (Poland) standing in the way of Germany and it's proclaimed enemy, Communism, and then proceeding to break that treaty
-attacking Poland, when the British and French had clearly drew the line
-underestimating the United States
"Hitler was a gambler with a penchant for letting it ride. It was a central philosophy of his to go for broke, cross every Rubicon, burn every bridge and admit no thought of defeat or surrender."
In the end, though, Hitlers primary flaws were the fact that he:
-formulated his policy on a superior nation and great state based on a bizarre view
-took on many world power with an insufficient purse
-villainized himself and his ideas through mass industrialized genocide of minorities

In the words of babylove04, "hilter was a racist and a very mean and selfish man. i am glad he id dead!!!!!!!!!!!!" thanks, buddy, for your accurate summarization.

Hitler was a very poor military leader. He could think tactically, but not strategically nor could he think operationally.

An example of his tactical limitations was his refusal to give ground when his troops would suffer a reversal.

He also was hidebound by symbolism. When you coupled these three faults together, they often lead to disaster. The outstanding example of this triple failing was Stalingrad.

He wasted an enormous army trying to take the city house by house, and then lost another army refusing to evacuate it because it was named after Stalin.

Operations includes resupply and just feeding the troops. He overestimated the ability of the air force to keep his troops supplied, although many other military men have overestimated the efficacy of air power.

He often gave orders not to abandon an inch of ground. The lowest ranking soldier usually has enough sense to know that when you are whipped, you must get out of there, hold your force together and live to fight another day. Hitler did not have this sense.

He managed to convince a whole nation that he was godly. He pulled Germany out of economic depression and made the country great. If it wasn't for invading Russia before he defeated Europe and if the Japanese never bombed Pearl Harbour then we would all be speaking German. A truly great leader (aside from the holocaust).

As a Jewish kid I realize he did horrible horrible things. He was good at speaking and gaining the trust of people but not the best military leader he made the bad desision that cost him the war at the battle of the bulge. Instead of just going through the forest and destroying the U.S. troops he stayed put for to long which alowed the U.S.to regain there forces and go on the offence and these orders were given to the nazi troops diretly from hitler.

I think that Hitler was a great guy. He was wrong for committing the Jew-nocide...however...It is not proven that he told the ones in charge to kill the jews...It was implied that he wanted racial cleansing...but they could have stopped if they wanted to...People dont take into consideration how much Hitler has revolutionized the world...His scientists, as you all know, were the best of the best...Adolf put a lot of pressure on them to be the greatest, and they were. He was in charge of them, and thats why they were so good. I love what Adolf has done. Except with the Jews. I dont know if he should have done that, but he was one of the most, if not the most powerful public speakers ever.

just because someone praises Hitler's accomplishments, doesn't mean thatthey think it morally right. Hitler WAS a great leader. you can't deny that. and you can't deny that his tactics WERE brilliant. but in saying that, i don't mean that i agree with the mass genoside. ex. just because people say the "great genoside" you son't assume that because great is there, it was happy? besides, when you call him insane or evil, the only reason you're probaby doing that is because he hilled so many. had blood of that calibur not been shed, would you say that about him now? also, i think he was a genius, he might of been a sedistic bastard, but he was still a genious.

I only have a few questions to ask this assembly of historians if you please...Q.1 Has there been found any document or decree of proclamation signed by A.Hitler ordering the mass executions of jews?(not one has been found)Q.2 Why are the people of Germany paying the Israeli government 50,000,000 annualy in compensation since 1950(approx.)but it is against the law for the next generation in Germany to ask why?or speak against the holocaust? In all fairness to humanity as a common ground of a global village constituent to where we as neighbours should produce evidential proof before dogmatizing a charge on historical events. If the semites/ashkenazis(branch of european jews)were welcomed by Germany with open arms due to exile from other countries then after some time flourished with honors in evey field of professionalism established position turned around and started to treat their hosts(Germany)as 2nd class citizens would that not prompt you to patriotism? One superior cannot place keep over the entire realm to keep align the commanding officers under him and the treatment of captives. If this be the case I feel Hitler did what was best for the german people to place the jews in these camps until there was a place for them to be sent.A nationalist is what he should have stayed but imperialism was the order of the day.It is clear that there are two versions to these dramatic tragedies one is F#min and the other is Cmaj7 so between the two versions the real tragedy is the lies fed to us all. Finally, some believe that they(jews)are forced in to ghettos to live, but it is they who desire segrogation from the gentiles!I reveal I am not anti-semitic nor am I pro-nazi but people must not accept historical articles as gospel without the examination of the other pages of history which are not high-lighted but, rather stifled in silence and buried under a ruble of implemented derailment!

Where to start, He was a sick, Sedistic S.O.B., Twisted in his ways, just outright Awful and brutal what he did to the Jews. Planned to Ethnic Cleanse Germany, truly a madman. But, he was one of the greatest orators of all time. He was able to brainwash people, hypnotize them with the power and intensity in his words. Unbelievable the lengths he went, he raised a broken nation back to its feet in the 30's and was actually Times man of the year somewhere in the 30's, He raised a small nation on an escapade to take over the world almost a Napoleon-esque move, a nation thats maybe only one half or one third the size of the US to take on a fight with the world. Amazing to be able to hypnotize the public with powerful words, if you ever get the chance watch one of his Rallies, or even speeches to the public its amazing the fire in his voice and his is movement, again dont misunderstand me he was an awful person who should rightfully sit in hell and burn for an eternity but truly an amazing Orator.

Well, you have to admit, he didn't completely let the country go to pot. He made sure the roads were in good shape, and did some good for importing and exporting goods. Compare this to more recent spawns of Satan, like Saddam Hussien, and he doesn't come out half bad. Unfortuntely, that little thing where he ordered the slaughter of 11 million people while taking control of countries like Poland and France kind of ruins it. http://www.rateitall.com/t-19852-time-machine.aspx

In many respects, Hitler was no different than Ghandi: both used their people's fears and beliefs to their advantage. If Germans were Hindus, undoubtably Hitler would have preached non-violent resistence. It just so happens that Germany was strongly nationalistic and there was a great amount of racial bias and hatred in Europe; he simply used that to his advantage. If we're talking about greatness, there's no question Hitler was great (his accomplishments and effect on the course of history are immeasurable); if we're taking about Hitler as a human being, he was vile.

Come on, clearly the most terrible leader of the twentieth century. If you change the item to orator or rabble-rouser or even military leader I can see justification for a higher rating. And for the five-star ratings, look, I can understand the need to be rebellious when you are an adolescent, but can't you just stick a ring in your nose or something? I'm tempted as purely a leader to give him a 5, because he did basically brainwash a country into genocide, and he conquered much land, But I have to take into consideration that the extreme suffering and depression of the Germans as a result of the Treaty of Versailles heavily influenced the people of Germany. They were desperate for a way out of their suffering. Enter Hitler. A handsome man. A man who is extremely eloquent and knows how to rile a crowd. Hitler comes with promises of glory, and promises to help return Germany to the superpower it once was. I HIGHLY doubt that Hitler would have had an influence if it weren't for the Treaty of Versailles. Then as Hitler became the leader he lead the path to horrible genocide and the idea of eugenics. He was a terrible man that only made his country worse! Great leaders are those who change the world for the better. The Holocast is one of the darkest parts of History. Therefore he is NOT a great leader, and no one can convince me that he would of even had any influence if it weren't for the desperity and hopelessness of the Germans caused by the clauses of the Treaty of Versailles.

I know I will probably get unhelpfuls for rating Hitler anything less than a one, but one must not simply dismiss the fact that Hitler had a huge impact on the history of the 20th Century. The worldwide Great Depression brought about Hitler's rise to power. Prior to the late 1920's, Hitler and National Socialism was seen as largely a fringe movement. There was a significant amount of discontent among German nationalists over the outcome of the First World War. Germans saw Hitler as a very magnetic, offering solutions to hyperinflation, the Communist threat, and general chaos. He was a strong spokesman for German Nationalism in a time when the country was burdened by war debt reparations from the last war. He got the support of the working class primarily by promising them security. Hitler took power only when parliamentary power was collapsing. He was an anti-Semite, he believed it was his mission to make the Aryan race achieve supremacy over all others. He placed the blame on Germany's dire financial situation on Jewish financiers. Hitler actually came to power legally in 1933; after that he used anti-communist hysteria to persecute political opponents and Jews. After he consolidated power in 1934, the leader cult known as the Fuhrer was established. The big mistake he made was to dismiss career military officials and diplomats in 1938 prior to the war with Nazi party officials. During this period, he concentrated on rearmament and the industrialization of the German economy. These moves caused u
