A classic, but just not exciting tasting at all. Eaten dry, it leaves a bitter, chalky aftertaste in your mouth for ages. However, with some sweetener, it's more than tolerable - pretty good, actually.

A true classic. No sugar needed, but if you must...
Opiniongiver 04/13/2004
Great toddler snack but as a cereal...very bland unless you add heaps of sugar
pwrwalker 03/25/2004
My favorite, especially if your trying to watch your weight...but I like diet soda also. Other cereals are too sweet. Good with a banana or strawberries! Or in a trail mix...add some raisens and M&M's, you can get your chocolate fix taken care of and eat something good for you at the same time. Great for toodlers...this is one of the first finger foods I gave my toddlers...always had Cherrios in the diaper bag!

My personal favourite cereal from being a baby, maybe not as sweet as other cereals but still good.
kolby1973 03/17/2004
A very bland tasting cereal that leaves a really bad aftertaste in your mouth for hours afterwards, regardless of whether you brush your teeth or not. Horrid !
chrisk1177 03/17/2004
Dry and not very fulfilling.
CocoPaloma 02/25/2004
Nasty little wheels of cardboard.

Classic. Also a great snack.
snlgirl 08/04/2003
To me, this is the perfect cereal. Is is healthy, but still tasty. Hey Castlebee, sometimes things can be tasty without having gobbs of sugar on them! They're also good in trail mix.
joecory 06/29/2003
no no no no this cereal has no taste at all even if you add sugar
help me 06/21/2003
yuck it taste of cardboard
PATm 05/16/2003
I love regular and Honey nut, but to my horror, after I already bought the whole grain, I read that it has hydrgenated oil! I was upset because I had used your cereal because it didn't contain that oil, which is unaturally produced and harmful to humans in many ways, heart disease is only one of them! I wish I could get my $$$$ back, because I'm throwing it out!
Redoedo 05/01/2003
Cheerios to me tastes disgusting by itself. It has absolutely no flavor, and is not as healthy as most people think. I ate this when I was 5 or 6, and always had to add a lot of sugar to make it edible by my tastes.
RebelYell1861 04/24/2003
Litte cardboard O's don't really do it for me.
hroth 03/13/2003
I usually eat Cheerios everyday but will never eat them again! They contain acrylamide which is a known carcinogen thought to cause cancer due to the way the product is processed using high temperatures. Even if it did not contain this substance according to Dr.Lam (Ask the Doctor), they're not good for you anyway. You should eat fruit, oats and unsalted raw nuts,

THIS CEREAL I HEALTHY SO I LIKE IT AND WHO CARES WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINKS!
WarMaid 01/31/2003
That delicious oat flavour is great with milk, and they also make a tasty (and low fat) snack dry. When my daughter was a toddler, I never went anywhere without Cheerios in the diaper bag. Not only were they her favourite treat, but she would stay occupied for ages!
Jason1972 11/01/2002
A little on the bland side, got to add sugar to make it better, but still a good cereal.
CastleBee 05/21/2002
I hate this cereal with a purple passion. It tastes like some kind of packaging material with salt on it. It is beyond me to believe that anyone - other than a baby with underdeveloped taste buds - could ever be conned into believing this is actually food. PahUke!
yoshislink 05/15/2002
So its healthy but it tastes like cardboard.
Priss168301 04/12/2002
I hate Cheerios. They taste like cardboard =\~
Snoopy 04/03/2002
I love Cheerios. They're great with milk and fruit, or eaten dry on the way to class. They're pretty good for you too.
finlore 03/13/2002
The multi-grain Cheerios are the ones I like best. There's no way on earth I can wax poetic about them as John did -- I DO like the chivalrous chevalier at the chateau of Chenonceaux, and I can't believe you actually came up with all those great "ch" phrases! -- but I do think they make a good breakfast. Actually, though, my favourite way to eat Cheerios is in nuts and bolts!
john davies 03/13/2002
Pretty tasty,my wife and i have just agreed. But shouldn't i be worried i immediately thought of Rateitall? And what can i say about them?Cherish those cheeky chunks of charming, cheerful cheerios. The choice of champions..and(San Diego)Chargers?.The chivalrous chevalier at the chateau of Chenonceaux, chancing on cherries for his chambermaid (who'd challenged the chastity of the chaplain of Chartres). The chattering chimp who made a chump of the Czech chess champ with a nonchalant check-mate.And the Chattenooga chipmunk chewing a chestnut....Musings prompted by a bowl of cereal on a mid-March night in wild, windy Wales!
callmetootie 04/07/2001
Cheerios deserves #1. It beats out all of the other cereals, except for Honey Bunches Of Oats, which I know will never make it to #1, unless I could help it.
judo 12/12/2000
Cheerios is great, good for you cereal. Honestly, by itself if probably won't trigger your taste buds very much, but add some chocolate milk and you're in for a wholesome treat.
isoldekh 11/24/2000
My absolute all time favorite cereal. Nutricious and delicious and an all out fabulous way to start the day. However, I rated them a 4 instead of a 5 because they are so expensive, I usually end up buying a store generic brand which isn't $5 a box.
PoorOldEdgarDe rby 10/18/2000
Cherios is something I despised as a child but have grown to like in adulthood, which is pretty scary since my father used to eat it. Still though I couldn't finish a bowl without at least one full scoop of sugar.
alicat 06/16/2000
I know Cheerios are good for you. It was a staple cereal in the cuboard when I was growing up but does anybody else burp up Cheerios all day, after eating them in the morning? I hate Cheerio burps.....
Princess Bride 04/03/2000
Cheerios are great by themselves, with milk, or mixed with fruit in milk. They are great and also cheap.
mgar3387om 12/18/1999
I could not have raised my 3 kids without cheerios. Even now my 16 yr old turns to cheerios when he can't find anything else he likes in the kitchen. Hooray for cheerios!
dams3343ca 12/18/1999
Good for packing fragile items in.
eboy3311om 12/18/1999
Fantastic Comfort Food
menz3301et 12/18/1999
It's so exasperating when they float right out of the bowl as I add milk!
Yahd3240om 12/18/1999
I personally enjoy cereals that are one grain and not coated with sugar and this makes Cheerios perfect for me. I eat them often.
llmc3227et 12/17/1999
It is a nutrious and an all around good cereal. My 3 year likes it and that's important to me. I also use it in cereal mixtures and other snacks.
suzk803om 12/17/1999
KIND OF BLAND BUT HEALTHY. GOOD WITH LOTS OF SUGAR.
Bug@2715et 12/16/1999
A cereal that not only tastes great but is very good for you.
cind467om 12/15/1999
You can't go wrong. I think cheerios has been around since the beginning of time. Not only is the cereal great -- but their advertising memorable.
nbas696du 12/14/1999
Honey nut cheerios waas a vast improvement.
magellan 12/14/1999
There is really nothing special about this cereal at all, other than the fact that it has almost a habitual place in most American homes. It is a comfortable cereal, an old friend perhaps. But, it clearly does not belong in the top 5.
