What is up with Matt on The Today Show and his interview with Laura Bush???? Nice lady, think I would have been a bit more hostile..... Made him look like a dim-bulb though.

ENOUGH OF ANN CURRY!!! Bring Soledad on full-time and ditch Ann. Wish Katie and Matt were less biased in their political opinions, but they work well together.
jerry sessa 07/05/2001
it seems that everytime you have a show about a couple getting married the people you use to provide flowers invitations etc....seem to be of an irish background could it be they are the only ones that provide these services or have talent in these areas. I thought it was odd the last time you did a show like this and now again...someone in nbc must be very bias
luciecalisto 06/22/2001
I've enjoyed the show for a number of years. I love watching the dynamic exchanges amongst the hosts. Thumbs up Katie, Matt, Al and Ann!
retired and wise 05/28/2001
The leadership of the Today Show has selected Ann Curry to be one of the lead anchors. To ma and to alot of my friends who watch your show, this is a poor choice. She means well and she tries hard, but she just doesn't 'have it' and continues to show this weakness. You have kept with her and recently you have tried to show in features, her struggling past and personal history to help the Today public to accept and embrace her. She is just not up to the job and I can't help but think that you people realize this and are trying to give it a chance....you have given it enough time, but, pardon me, it is the wrong choice. You would help her by encouraging her to move on to other jobs and possibilities. Sincerely, retired and wise

I watch the show every morning while I get ready for work. I like Katie, however, when she interviews guests she does most of the talking. I, for one, would like to hear more of what the guests have to say and not what Katie has to say. After all, aren't they there to share their stories with us? Matt also has the same habit. I think they like to hear themselves talk.
callmetootie 04/05/2001
I wake up to the Today Show every morning. It gets me in the mood to get up, and get into the world. Also, whenever I'm sick, I can watch the celebrities and interviews.

I think that Anne is the only real intelligent life on that show.I like All a lot but why he is allow to keep all this weight on.I'm sure Anne & Katie wouldn't be allowed.Katie's hair looks fried,I have a 72 inch high definition tv & reality hits me every morning.I think Katie was a lot prettier before, she should go to a n overall darker color with either chunking or highlights at the front only.I can't believe with all the money she makes, she can't look better than that. Also her lipstick is always gone from her bottom lip,all you see is lip pencil & lipstick on the upper lip.Matt Lauer I find has gotten high & mighty,I liked him a lot better when he first started. He never seems to want to talk to the people outside & also what is it with him & Katie constantly saying "anyway",can't they improve their vocabulary??If you are going to have guest wake up real early to be on the show, can't you let them answer the question or let them talk,Katie is constantly carrying on & on with her own opinion, sometimes the guests genuinely appear ticked off and I don't blame them.I don't watch the today show for the news,I watch it for the guests. The real today show existed when Jane Pauley & Tom Brokaw were the hosts.Sorry if this is a annoying e-mail but it is my opinion. Thank-you.
cbinutah 03/26/2001
I have stopped watching your show as much as I used to because it seems to have too much of an emphasis on hollywood and glamour. If you did more stories relating to the environment, and had guests that were contributing to society instead of ditsy, high-profile actors/actresses, your show would have more depth. (Loved that you had Bill Moyers on this morning.) How about a story on the on the dangers of hydrogenated oils? Or the dangers of smog? A story on sprituality vs. religion? Cutting edge research on education for children (the Waldorf method, for example)? The hazards of pesticides, organic farming? There is SOOO much out there that the media is AFRAID of exploring because it might threaten your advertisers? Be bold, do something new and interesting. Hollywood is boring and predicatble (as is politics).
OG2731 03/02/2001
Katie Couric's new hair style and color are just terrible! she looked far better when her hair was shorter and the color was not bleached. Is she trying to re-capture her youth..if so she looked younger before..also she shows her bias toward the liberals, is she one of Billy boys par amours? Hope she goes back to the way she looked before or I will quit watching after 30 Years!
jerber 02/27/2001
Has anyone looked at katie lately? Fishnet stockings, unkept hair, clothing to tight across the chest or just plain boring. Does she not care at how bad she looks?
maggiebella 02/23/2001
When interviewing an author, PLEASE state the name of the book and the author at the end of the interview. I've had to call NBC in NY before, to get this information. Or, I go to the book store with an incorrect title, and don't know the author.
yllom 02/06/2001
Wow, I didn't realize so many people shared my views on Katie and Matt's extremely liberal election coverage, other than my family. I used to LOVE everything about them until they disappointed me to no end by their negative tone toward Bush and drewling coverage over Gore. I couldn't believe the producers actually let that happen!!! I know it's all said and done, thank goodness, but i've never been the same toward the show and the little cocky liberal lady, Katie.

I FEEL SORRY FOR KATIE, EVEN ON CHRISTMAS MORNING SHE CAN'T WISH HER VIEWERS A MERRY CHRISTMAS, STILL WITH THE HAPPY HOLIDAYS. MAYBE SOMEDAY SHE'LL GROW UP

As for the election coverage... YAWN! Not becuase it was poor reporting on behalf of Katie or Matt, the whole story line was out of control. The today show is fresh, full of integrety and has hosts who show compassion. Although some may say they won't watch, or don't like Matt and Katie becuase of their coverage of the election, what about the coverage of Littleton, CO or the Olymipcs. If one story is going to outrage you enough not to watch, then don't but guess what... The next station with do it also, but with less talent, flair, knowledge! I say keep up the great work Katie, Matt, Ann, Al okay, and you too Willard!

Jesse Jackson babbled on so long today (unchallenged, of course) that I left to get coffee and missed half of the interesting commentators, Chris Mathews and Mike Barnacle. Doesn't Today understand that nobody believes Jackson anymore except black people who desperately need to see themselves as victims?
jab007 12/13/2000
My only question is the following: When will Matt and Katie be issuing THEIR concession speech?
F and B 12/11/2000
Thanks for fox news, it at least gives both sides. We need the news to report both sides and i don't care what katie or matt think. They are not even well informed about what is going on.
happycamper 12/08/2000
When I e-mailed the Today Show about 2 weeks ago, I was furious that Matt and Katie were taxing my intelligence as a voting American.....I always start my mornings with the show, but after having listened to Katie and Matt covering the election's highs and lows, I have lost a lot of respect for both of them.....I have decided that perhaps we are going through a new era in news coverage - maybe broadcasting stations are going to become openly bias......which is okey with me......however, my expectation is that the broadcasting station would establish their position up front......I hope they are not so stupid as to believe that they are so good at their jobs that they are swaying Americans in the direction of their opinions.....my instints ask me, "who is in who's pocketbook?"....On the other hand, I believe that Ann is probably the sweetest and most attentive interviewer I've seen.....noticeably, she gets left out of coversations and treated like a "5th wheel" much too often.....before I close - I have a strong need to say "THANK YOU KATIE FOR PUTTING YOUR STOCKINGS BACK ON!!!!!"
brat 12/05/2000
The morning show does an terrible job of reporting the presidential campain news. Kati Couric and Matt Louer are so bias towards the democrats and I don't believe this is real reporting. They are just trying to manipulate and sway the public towards their beliefs and whishes. I believe that cutting off the republican speaker that was defending late registration fraud was intenional. They sure gave the democrat speaker plenty of time. I keep turning of their show because they make me so mad with their bias reporting.
JOYFIELD 12/02/2000
This is the first time I've visited the web site. I am shocked that every comment is so negative. I have been watching the Today Show for about ten years and enjoy it. Even though I'm a registered Republican I don't feel that the hosts are extremely bias toward the Democrats. It seems to me the reason we've seen Al Gore on more that George W. Bush is that Mr. Bush declines the show's offers to appear. It's unfortunate that Mr. Bush's handlers keep him so remote. The comment I'd like to register concerns KEN STARR. If the Today Show uses Mr. Starr's services as a "commentator" again I will join the rest of the people who seem to be deserting. Judging from the comments I've read on this site you guys need all the loyal viewers you can keep. So keep me happy and NO MORE KEN STARR!
Carolyn 11/30/2000
Never! Never! Never! again will I watch the Today show,Katie C. or Matt L. Unbalanced and very biased reporting ! Do you think we are uniformed ! Do you think Americans have been dumb down to the poit that we are mindless sheep!! Give me a break guys and wise up before we arbitrarily turn you off!!!
GEEM7 11/30/2000
KATIE CURIC,S INTERVIEW STANDARDS ARE DISRACEFUL TO ANY MEDIA PROFESSIONAL.MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER COULD ASK MORE MEANINGFUL QUESTIONS . HOW MUCH DOES SHE GET PAID FOR HER MEAGER SKILLS?
greenie 11/30/2000
All this air time for Al Gore!!! When does President-Elect Bush get his turn? The one-sided, biased "reporting" of NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN has driven the majority of viewers to seek alternate, more truthful, unbiased news sources (FNC, etc.). Although Couric, Lauer, et.al., simply mouth the words provided by the Producers, they are still the up-front representatives. If indeed there is a revolt in this country one day, a large part of the responsibility will lie with the liberal media. I pray that under the leadership of President Bush, our country will be healed. This will NEVER happen if we are forced into a "President" Gore!!
Cassie94 11/29/2000
It's too bias for me. Thank God for the dish. I can now get the truth on FOX NEWS, I want a news show that reports the true facts and lets me make the decision.
alicat 11/29/2000
I agree with a lot of the people posting messages about the Today Show and their liberal attitudes being annoying. I like to think of myself as a liberal, but when I watch the news, I want the news. I don't want the liberal democrate opinions from the newcasters. I want fair interviews that let me make up my own mind and not have a tainted point of view. I used to watch Katie and Matt as well as the rest of the Today show cast but it has become really ridiculous during this 'Decision 2000' debacle.
youngdi 11/29/2000
I am totally diappointed in the way your coverage of the election has been covered. If Matt and Katie want to back Al Gore, then they should do it on their own time, not on the networks time! It has been very obvious who they are for, and that in my opinion is bad reporting! I have loved watching them, they seem to truly like each other, but alas, I have switched to Good Morning America for my morning news, as I cannot forget their biased reporting!
Beverly Shumake 11/29/2000
I have never written to anyone a complaint. Todays interview with President Bush was inexcusable, what a bi---. You bring an ex President on with a false sense as to what is going to be talked about and then just can not respect the man enough to honor that, shame on you. I just can't tell you how turned off my husband and I were.
Susan B 11/29/2000
The Today Show has been a regular part of my morning for many years. I have recently made a change, and now watch Fox News. The liberal views, opinions, and interviews are so repulsive. What has happened to the old Fair and Balanced method of delivering the news to the public? The opinions and views of our Commentators is of no importance to the viewers, Commentators are just Commentators, not experts on the topic they deliver. I wonder, does Katie Couric have any idea what our current President is up to with the United Nations Leaders? I bet if she did, she would refuse to bring it to the viewers, you know, those of us who use to pay her salary. She should be on The View instead of The Today Show. Oh, by the way, is Katie moving to Switzerland with the Baldwin/Bassinger family? Bye Katie..
davew 11/28/2000
Prior to the election cycle this year, I enjoyed watching Katie, Matt and the gang on the Today Show. I started every morning with what I thought was a good show. Now I can't stand to watch. I have moved to FOX for all of my news. I still don't like everything I hear but at least I hear both sides. Katie and Matt are so biased in their support for Gore that they should be on his staff. In fact, maybe they are. I am actually imbarased for you. You are so transparant that anyone who doesn't share your extreem liberal views is turned off. You may not care about ratings now but you will when they get low enough. Studies show that there is a relatively small percentage of Americans who describe themselves as liberal. Hope you can servive with only them watching.
Etrane 11/28/2000
I used to watch the Today Show every morning as I was getting ready for work and thoroughly enjoyed Katie and Matt. I no longer care to tune in because they are both so bias for Gore and the Democratic Party and so negative when it comes to Bush. It is their job to give the news not give their opinions...I prefer to form my own opinions and I'm very capable in doing this. If they don't quit wearing their hearts on their sleeves, the Today Show will start losing a lot of viewers if it hasn't all ready. etrane

Matt & Katie: average, biased "journalists." Stick to celeb interviews. In addition, both have stated that "Bush declared himself president-elect." He did not. The Florida system declared him victor. What's he supposed to say: I wasn't actually voted in? My wife loves Matt & Katie the same way she loves Oprah--for their feel-good chatter. Save the hard ball for some other pro--like Russert. Please spare us and never, never have Katie on election coverage again. Her input on Election night was pitiful. Oh yeah, one other thing. On your website you describe Katie as "perky." Didn't you mean to say "pukey."
MadBob 11/27/2000
Basic bias complaint but also: Please, please stop using the phrase, "The American People have a right to know.." every time you want to justify the asking of a question you (interviewers, perky in particular) want answered. Do you multi-millionairs realy think we (the American People) are all that upset that it was a couple of hours before we knew that he had a mild heart attach? How deep did you have to dig to find two interviewees to substantiate your point? (By the way, they were not the "typical American man on the street" people. Get it through your heads, this election is going to dissatisfy fifty percent of the voters which ever way it ultimately goes.
candyman 11/25/2000
What has happened to who, what, when, where, and why?Just give me the facts and save me the patronizing view of the world from Katie Couric. She continues to slip farther and farther into giving us her slant of the world as gospel. It was bad when Bryant Gumbel was host but the show has become a parody of itself.I tune in now to see how much Katie will spin the truth to her liking.Even though Ann Curry wears her heart on her sleeve I enjoy her alot and feel that the show is much less tense when she fills in for Katie.Give her the seven million and give Ms.Couric the boot.
bobo 11/21/2000
Very disappointed in the lots of flash with very little substance. Image is NOT everything. Perky and hansome are entertainment terms, certainly not journalism.
Dr Seuss 11/21/2000
The today show is so biased I do not watch it anymore. Katie is the worst interviewer ever! Al called Al Gore president one day! From Dr. Seuss about Al Gore: I will not let this VOTE count stand! I do not like it, Al Gore I am! George Bush won---get over it!
alexander67 11/19/2000
Katie couric is an left wing biased idiot. she should not even be allowed to interviev anyone who is not a liberal. her disdain for an opposing opoint of view in patently obvious i guess in order to work in the industry oyu have to be a left winger . Matt Lauer is marginally better. I guess the only good liberal is a deceased liberal. I am watching Date line on 11/19 and now i hear that dateline is trashing the military votes; as if to say to military is sending fradulent ballots, too bad the media has mounted so pervasive an effort to overturn an election.
Diasho 11/18/2000
I am outraged and fed up with you, the liberal media, Al Gore and the Democrates who are trying to robb the American people of our constitutional right to select our next President. It is obvious that All Gore with do nothing short of lying or cheating, and you, the liberal media, will do nothing short of giving your personal opinions as fact, to still this election. Al Gore is only out to serve himself! Even if he is seated in the oval office, he will NEVER be my President!
keltylou 11/14/2000
Objection2000 As a working female, voter, wife, and mother of three children (two of which are in college), I gave much consideration to the individual candidates running for office. Despite being a Republican, I voted a split ticket. In the future I will be hesitant before voting for democrats. Especially after how they (Al Gore and his Representatives) are diminishing the election to a mere popularity contest. The importance of the electoral process and the honor formerly associated with the presidency of the United States is being robbed from Americans. I hope that my strong objection will be noted in the sincere manner in which it is given. -Billie McCaskill johnwmcc@weblinkmail.net

I have been a fan of the today show for several years. But the coverage on the 2000 Presidential Campaign has been disappointing. Katie & Matt have NOT been objective. One can very easly determine they are democrates. I have always thought that when a journalist or tv news person expressed their view is was considered an editioral. But, Katie & Matt certainly express theirs, and their questions to quest always favor the democrates. While I can respect them for having different views, I can't respect them for expressing them as they report the hopefully factual news.
Lala 20 11/14/2000
A great way to start my day, with Katie,Matt,Ann and Al. Often I don't care for the choice of entertainers that are offered. I don't care for a lot of the young musicians and I can't understand the lyrics. I just switch stations when they come on.
juju 11/09/2000
At one time was my favorite show loved the humour of Katie and Matt, not anymore. The elections have showed me that they see only one side and that's the only side they know how to report on. What happened to doing an interview but not showing how biased you are for Gore. Matt and Katie both this morning by their comments were not helping the process in Florida but prodding it on to encourage more people who were unhappy in Florida which at this time may want to change their vote but you know the way I feel is a card laid is a card played. They were adults, they voted, their party may have lost so let's pitch a fit and maybe we'll get our way.
cborchardt 11/09/2000
I'm so tired of Katie's biased questions and comments. If she intends to keep her viewers happy and tuned in to the Today Show, she better brush up on how to be a better commentator. She offers her subliminal comments\questions to viewers thinking they are open to her opinions. As a regular viewer (every work day at 7:00 AM), I am growing most weary of her. I am perfectly capable of coming to my own conclusions. Wake up producers, she's going to cause your ratings to slide. If she doesn't change her conduct, I'll be watchng CNN! Who would have ever guessed she was a democrat!
sungwon 11/09/2000
I am highly disappointed in Matt Lauer and Katie Couric's coverage of the Florida recount. Journalists should report facts and try to represent both sides equally. You can see them barely trying to hold restraint in their support for Al Gore. Tell us the facts! Don't try to influence us into having your beliefs and wishes. I give the show one star for having Tom Brokaw on the program. It is so refreshing to listen to a journalist give all sides, review all facts, and make proper comparisons. Tom Brokaw is definitely one of the best in the business. He doesn't have who he voted for imprinted on his forehead.
madmax 11/03/2000
This show deserves no stars, but I have to give it one because I'm forced to by this "rate it" site, which should be rated also (1 star). Katie, and Matt (?) are the two worst interviewers/entertainers in the industry. Every morning I skim by it and they are discussing some lame topic trying to educate the people when in fact, if I sit and listen for two minutes, I walk away feeling more stupid than when I turned these bozos on. One bit of advice for the show, let your audiance formulate their own opinions about your silly topics. Don't shove your biased, non-informative, two-faced, crappy opinions through the T.V. set.
hollister6 10/23/2000
I have not appreciated your coverage of "The Full Monty" at all. What is the deal? Are you trying to normalize strip joints. Katie, please, do you really want the viewers to think it is fun and normal to watch guys strip and put money in their shorts. And you pretending to stop them before it was offensive to families. Well it was too late for me. You to Al, not funny. I didn't appreciate the belt routine. Stripping should be left in the closet and dark places where people who have no better things to do with their lives go. This country is struggling with assaults on the family right and left. You've added to it. While I generally find your show somewhat entertaining and informative I can't remember when I've been so disgusted. The amount of time, effort, etc. that went into displaying this stuff was at very least overdone, at worst, totally inappropriate.
daycare 10/23/2000
I saw Katie giving some advice on day care and she made the comment that your day care provider should be greatly appreciated. I have a day care in my home and so it is hard for me to watch the whole Today show so I was unable to see the entire interview. But we day care providers need all the help we can get. This is not a job that gets much respect. I feel Katie is respectful.
