What young boy did not want to BE Bo or Luke?! What young girl was not IN LOVE with Bo or Luke?! This show keeps your attention from beginning to end. Believe me, you will love all of the characters! It's addictive!

The worst waste of prime time ever!

Mindless entertainment, no doubt. My brother who was 2 and a half years older than me always used to say sarcastically "Gee, I wonder if there'll be a car chase in this one?" Well, my alibi for watching this show is this: I was 13 when the show started, I was too young to drive, so what else was I gonna do on a Friday night? We only had two channels at the time, and I don't remember what was on the other one.

didn't like this show as much when it was on as much as i like it now on re runs on tnn. i was basically a sci-fi nut so anything without spaceships and lasers didn't always get my full attention. however i do remember it strongly(the car was cool) also very memorable characters. my favorite was enos followed closely by the sheriff. also liked the short lived enos spin off

Now me being from Alabama, this show was a Friday night staple for us kids growing up but it's campiness and dialogue is largely forgettable but it's walways fun watching the General Lee.

I have a feeling that those who think the Dukes of Hazzard is stupid and dislike it are in fact Liberals. Sorry guys and gals but shows like All in the Family were booooorrrring... The Dukes of Hazzard is the only show that has everything you would want in a show. Action, adventure, sex appeal the guys (for the girls) and Daisy (for the guys) morals, values, good vs bad (and good always winning, comedy, stunts, and a cool car. Those who pan the show don't seem to "get it". The show isn't supposed to be reality, it's an action/adventure/comedy. Okay I admit the Coy and Vance episodes sucked but other than that the show was a blast. I'm 22 and still enjoy it very much.

Sure, it's not nouvelle fare. But folks, take it for what it is--a lighthearted show with lots of fast cars, plenty of hot babes, and bumbling law types, all for the entertainment of kids (mostly). Though I do get a kick out of watching it occasionally as an adult, I realize that this is not "Masterpiece Theater" I'm about to watch. Or even "All in the Family", for that matter. Just plain fun and a good escape for an hour!

John Schneider claimed in an interview once that he showed up for his audition sporting stubble and B.O. to clinch the part Bo. The fact that this ploy worked speaks volumes. Hey Nedra, your hat's back on your head! Didn't it just fly off in the long shot?

I think the show is absolutely hilarious! Plus it tosses in some great family values. Which, less face it, is much lacking in todays entertainment. It's nice to have a show that I can turn on, sit my child down in front of, go make dinner and not worry about whether or not she's viewing something corrupt. So... I give it 5 stars... GO DUKES!!

One of the very few good shows left. Don't believe all the derogatory comments about this show. If you don't like the show, then change the channel. Why trash it?

My God, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, they bring out Coy & Vance. I read recently that Italian Americans were suing The Sopranos for poorly reflecting on them and advancing stereotypes. As a native southerner - I say this show and Hee-Haw owe me about a billion dollars each!

Not a good show, the only reson this show got one because of the awesome car! But the show sucked!

And then some this show is probely the greatest show ever made. this is one thet you could set your children down in front of and not worry if they were going to pick up any thing that would get them in trouble at school or home and any body that says that it was raceist is full of it the only thing that is remotely close is the confedrit flag on the roof and it was never ment to be bad it was ment to be for home town pride and the 01 on the side was as Bo (not Beau mongrelpup) said "its the story of the dukes lives they start with nothing and become number one" if you would watch a few shows and listen with your heart (if you have one) you will see what all the fuss is about thank you for reading this p.s. the car is realy cool too

This show wasn't intended to be particularily thought provokig. It was very tounge in cheek and meant to be fun, which it was! It was exciting and funny. Anyone from the Deep South can appreciate it. I think that James Best (Roscoe) and Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) are one of the most underrated comedy teams ever. This gal just lvoed those Duke boys, especially Luke Duke! This show never claimed to be Shakespeare and is still fun to watch. You never heard any profanity, etc. Just fun and it is a true classic!

I loved it on Friday nights way back when and I still love it. Sure it wasn't tv that made you use your brain nor was it PBS, but it was "fun." The show was also a program that among the car chases taught the importance of family values and doing the right thing. Social Relevance vs Good Clean Fun. Hmm you decide..

I liked this show when I was 8, but now at 28 it sucks big time.

Duke Of Hazzard never ever changed. It was always the same boring topic...cars. I could watch Duke Of Hazzard very rarely, as it was on reruns for a short time, but is on now. The show was extremly tasteless and annoying, and the cast was too scrawney. The settings were god-afful, and the car crash scenes looked so fake, and the cast ruined eachother's lives.

The only disagreement I have with CastleBee is that Lil' Abner was MUCH better than this show ever even thought about being. I'm glad Tom Wopat made some effort to restore his career after this mess. He's the only thing remotely worth salvaging. Dukes and it's position on this list are good examples of why some of us get so discouraged with humanity: Stupidity rules.

VERY AWESOME SHOW I STILL WATCH THE RERUNS TO THIS DAY I EVEN STAY UP TIL 1 AM JUST TO CATCH IT ..

Okay, I can actually understand how this show appealed to folks. Car chases, no one every get seriously injured, stupid sheriff anyone can fool, Daisy running around in shorts, etc. Who wouldn't like that? However, I hated the way that stupid confederate flag was so widely displayed on an otherwise cool car. Let's see...the Civil War was fought over a hundred years ago. The south got its tail kicked so the reality is that flag does not exist because the country it represents does not exist. Gee, makes perfect sense to me.

There is nothing better than watching the "good ole boys" when I'm feeling down. That Dodge Charger is the best!

I can't believe this show is number one. Number one hundred, I could agree with. I gotta hand it to all the Duke fans though, they certainly are loyal and put in a lot of work.

There are some people out there who are so dull and boring that they don't think a joke is funny, unless it involves SEX, POLITICS, or PUTTING DOWN CHRISTIANITY. Maybe this isn't the best show ever to air and it doesn't deserve No 1,but Mr. CastleBEE take your All in the Family and shove it.

I am truly amazed and amused that this show has remained at the top or near the top of this category for so long. Especially when you consider the other shows you have to choose from here – “Taxi”, “All in the Family”, “Cheers”, “I Love Lucy” – EGHAD - even the “Brady Bunch” should beat this! The premise is ridiculous, the constant car chases idiotic, and I have a strong suspicion that both the cast and the writers were missing some chromosomes. This is a CARTOON people! It was once known as “Lil Abner”. I guess when you really think about it the most amazing part of this is that there are actually “Dukes of Hazzard” fanatics out there dedicated and organized enough to pull this rating.

This show was THE SHOW OF ALL SHOWS. The best of all time. I would give it a ten star rating if I were allowed.

If you don't like this show, you are probably some liberal who would rather listen to Jesse Jackson make comments about how his race are being treated. It's time to realize that there will never be another show like this. EVER!

I think this show is one of the worst I ever saw, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder 'cause a lot of people have rated it highly.

Unless you tune in to watch Beau and Lukes tight jeans or Daisy Duke's...well...Daisy Dukes, there's really not much point, is there? These three and their respective dungarees save it from a one star rating.
