BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!
spanner 08/17/2003
Although I love this show with every bone in my body I must say what the hell happened in series 6 have you ever known such a bunch of wimps. Buffy was created as a kick ass sci-fi program not a forum for some lame ass spoilt American brats. The only thing that was the salvation for the series was the Willow. The metamorphoses showing the inner darkness and sorrow at the death of Tara was a cleaver and imaginative stroke kudos for that one guys but did we really need all the teen angst, which preceded it? Series 7 is once again a breath of fresh air. However it does seem that all the imaginative storylines show willow to be a main force. The out of normal reality show which willows inner torment once again creating problems was once again pure genius. Lets just hope that with Angel they stick to the demonic metaphors, which were once so much a part of Buffy. Sorry if i am not making much sense but it is nearly 6 am. Off to teh joys of Nietzsche.

Wish I knew what teenage girls and shut-ins like about this. Is it the twilight zone light aspect of it, or all the ass-kickers in baby t's?
Iceb;aster 06/26/2003
I think that Buffy is really the best written show on TV. Joss is one of the best show creators. I used to think that Buffy was a stupid show, and I must admit I was shocked when Dawn came into play, but overall the show is the best thing that I have come across in a long time. I think that ending the series is one of the stupidest things that ever happened.Long live BTVS!

SSSSSsara!

Great show, though over time it started to suck, the finale was nice- open ended yet with resolve. I loved the Buffy-Spike dynamic, I think they're a great couple :) the finale was sad, how Spike died loving Buffy and saving the world...yet I heard Joss is going to revive him!
Murf 05/27/2003
Has to have the WORST acting I've ever seen. The story lines are absolutely stupid, and the whole production is horrible. One of the worse shows EVER to be on T.V.
forgotten hero 05/22/2003
Pure Cheese, a watered down version of the movie.
twinmom101 05/21/2003
I thought it would be stupid, but I liked a lot of the hidden cultural and historical jokes on it. I thought I was the only one who thought that way until I heard about a whole slew of people (mostly classicists and English teachers) who liked it for that reason too on NPR. People who don't like it obviously didn't get a lot of the jokes because they're good.

Someone needs to put a stake through the proverbial heart of this pooch.

I LOVE this show. I'll miss it when it is gone.
AngelicDarla 04/05/2003
Good plot, good cast, good acting. You can relate to BTVS more than other shows because she goes through alot of what you go thorough, but with a supernatural twist.
smgellarfan200 3 03/25/2003
Buffy the vampire slayer is the greatest drama in the history of the world....and anyone who has a problem with this show is in my view totally stupid and ignorant( have i got your attention deathrattle?) BUFFY RULES FOREVER!!!
Redoedo 03/23/2003
I used to really, really enjoy this show, but ever since Angel left, it has been boring to me. I personally believe that there's only so many shows you can do about vampires, and this one in my opinion has run it's course. It's not as good as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, the cast is great, but its time to say goodbye to Buffy.
Kat25 03/01/2003
I have been watching Buffy since day one, and there is a good feeling as I watch this young girl beat all sorts of monsters week after week. As this is the last season for BtVS, I have been a faithful follower of all her exploits. Now she's a woman that kicks butt. BtVS will be sorely missed.
kuppie21 02/26/2003
Can't really rate this show cause iv'e never really watched it, but my mom is a fan and she just has to tell me all about it, saw the movie and that was enough.
Barnabas 02/09/2003
Buffy is the best drama show on tv ever! Sarah Michelle Gellar does her best job as Buffy. She is very talented. I think ever one should give this show a chance before judging it. Season 6 rocks!
poohpoohl 01/24/2003
i love all the buffy eppys!!

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I watch Buffy religiously. In fact, I didn't even have a TV when the show premiered, and only started watching it (in syndication, my el cheapo cable doesn't offer UPN) last year. I'd been reading about how wonderful it was for years, and I just didn't get it. The whole idea sounded dumb. Plus, I'd seen the movie, which WAS dumb....then one night, out of sheer boredom, I flipped to it.....enchanted beer was turning college kids into cave people. Everybody spoke in this funny dialect, half-dweeb, half-hipster, and when it was over I was like, ooo-kaaaay, that was.....strange. But it made me just curious enough to tune in the following week, and then the week after. And I was hooked. It helped that the third episode I saw was "Hush," where they managed the feat of getting through almost an entire show without dialogue. But what really won my heart were the characters--how lovable and how very true they are, and how the writers respect them like real people. The situations they're placed in are outlandish, and some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths can be almost too clever, but their emotional lives are so dead-on real it continually takes my breath away. For those who low-rated this show for the same reason I initially dismissed it, take another look -- watch a few in a row, see if your opinion doesn't change. Until you get to know the characters and get into the rhythm of their lives, you can't really appreciate how great it is.
WilShakes1 01/14/2003
Most successful show of the past decade in terms of invention, creativity, and writing/acting values, as well as one of the most influential. Lovable characters, well-executed creative vision, rigorously intelligent but wth a huge fun factor (an amazing achievement just by itself). Every so often a show comes along that stands a genre on its head, forcing audiences to rethink their perceptions and other TV folks to rethink how they do business. HILL STREET BLUES is the prime example of this, but BUFFY is in that league.
clegg7g 01/08/2003
This show is awesome. I initially refused to watch this show when it came out as I could not believe I would like something that had the word "Buffy" in the title. The cast of characters are incredible and the stories weritten are very entertaining.
jakey333 01/07/2003
Its petty much a given this show will be gone by the end of the season.
terri913 01/06/2003
this is my all time favorite show! it has great acting and an intersting and different plot which is good because its not one of those cookie cutter shows. i think it is on eof the best shows on tv and im soooo sad that this is probably its last season!!!
sundance70 01/04/2003
This is another show that has been on too long. Don't get me wrong, this show is still one of the finest on television, but as with so many other shows past their prime, it's losing steam, not as good as it used to be. Season 1 and 2 were the BEST!
jeight 01/02/2003
good writing, and sarah michelle is cool. but the plots get a little silly sometimes, although i admit it can get downright creepy/scary sometimes. which is good, for a vampire show. all in all, good, but not great. not kim possible. :)
Mad_Tv_Krazy 12/24/2002
This show is very good. But it is getting boring with the spike deal. Spike should die and Angel should come back becuase that's when they got more ratings
sandy8star 12/19/2002
I love this show! The writing, acting, and storylines are the best around. I live for Tuesday nights!
girlinthebalan ce 12/18/2002
By far my favorite show and right up there with the Sopranos as far as quality of writing. Despite what many fans say about season six, the writing has gotten better every year and the characters have grown in believable ways.
Fun4MaryJo 12/11/2002
Violent. Terrable for the audience age it attracts.
LJThompson 12/07/2002
I've watched Buffy since the first season. They had a couple of semi-weak seasons, but Buffy and the gang are back in top form. Still trying to figure out whether they're going to keep Dawn though (if so - develop her character!). Spike and Xander are my favorites. Buffy always holds suprises and plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. The humor is pretty fun too. I miss Giles!
DeathRattle 12/06/2002
Absolutely boring! Sarah should not even be called a good actress. Another teenage show that only has scripts written in the mind set of teenagers. Every episode moves at a slow pace. The fight sequences are horrible as well. Stupid UPN had to bring this show back on the air. However, I hear they may get rid of it as well. That'll clear the room for good shows.....hopefully. It's UPN after all.
caligemini 12/05/2002
Complex, riveting, dark, sexy - describing the show & the Main Attraction - Spike of course!
mistytaurus 11/29/2002
Let's get an Emmy already!!!!
scarlet_273 11/26/2002
I have watched Buffy since the beginning and it just continues to get better. I love watching Buffy!!!
marlowe1939 11/24/2002
I wish I could rate this on a season by season basis. this four star rating is more of an average of the seven seasons. Last seas really brought the curve down. However, what I see of the current season has been very very promising. Still a damn sight better than the majority of crap on TV now.
Xedra77 11/21/2002
Yeah! You know, the dialogue and acting aren't great and the premise is questionable, but there's something about it that won't let me stop watching. I'm mesmerized. It can be really scary, or make me laugh out loud, and you never know what they're going to face next. It's definately a twist on your normal teen problems :)
Brahmsian 11/19/2002
This show *used to be* great, especially in Season Three. Unfortunately, it hasn't managed to keep up that level of quality, and Season Six, (especially the final 3-4 episodes) bit, big time. Can it come back? I hope so, but I'm not counting on it.
Weirdmeister 11/16/2002
This is a nice program. A bit childish sometimes, but really very funny from time to time. If you are really into vampires and everything try getting your hands on the books of Anne Rice: Lestat the vampire, Marius the vampire, Queen of the Damned and best of all Memnoch the devil! Oh hell, I thought I was going to comment on Buffy!
angel_eyes06 11/10/2002
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is the best tv show out there. I mean it has everything, comedy, horror, mystery, romance, action, drama, and anything else you can think off. It is entertaining and always leaves the viewers wanting more.
ellebee 10/10/2002
i never expected to like a show with a campy titlelike this. but i am absolutely hooked. it is the most inventive, unpredictable and in many ways, smart show i have ever seen. the writing crackles, the action scenes are terrific and the cast is a wonderful mix of the heroic and the absurd. the musical episode was extraordinary. and i do not have enough praise for the deliciously ironic james marsters, the sexiest throat chomper in this life or any other...
SusanGM 08/01/2002
This is a fun ride.
Zuraya 07/13/2002
I love Buffy, I have neva missed an episode! And spike is a babe!
ClassicTVFan47 07/09/2002
More and more, I'm convinced the only good shows UPN can put out are new Trek shows...This one went from bad to much, much worse when it left the WB. It freely flaunts very graphic violence, near-pornographic portryals of sexual activity, gobs of profanity and disrespectful attitudes. Also, the acting is sub-par and the show is very, very dark. Avoid this evil show as well.
Dreamon1976 07/01/2002
Buffy is teh best show on TV, and Sarah is such a great actress, I really do think
shorty_chick12 06/20/2002
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the most opinionated and suspensful shows on TV. In a sense, some people don't find this show as intriguing as others - for they don't have the space in their mind to watch nonsense like slayers and vampires, that are pronounced unreal, and that's alright. If you want to stick with real-life shows that could actually happen, that's just fine. But, just think: What if you were a vampire slayer, and had to save the world each and everyday, being claimed a hero, being able to have the satisfication of knowing you saved all humankind? I had many dreams about this. I thought it would be awesome! And that's why I like this TV Show, as well as many other viewers. Either that, or we watch it for that hottie, Spike!
blazing red star 06/12/2002
First off I must confess -- my adoloescence years are far, far away. I am a middle-aged person who adores this show. Vampire movies and stories have always held my interest and I did enjoy the original Buffy movie in theaters. I thoroughly enjoy the witty writing combined with traditional vampire and horror themes as well as all the new and creative twists thrown in for fun. I am sad that Willow's girlfriend has been killed off -- the lesbian relationship shown in such a positive light was wonderful. Will Zander come to his senses and lead Anya down the aisle? Can Anya be saved from re-demonizing herself? What will Spike be like with a soul? What about Buffy and Spike? How about a new supreme vampire being to destroy for next season? Whatever it is, I'll be tuned in and watching.
