I saw him in '94 at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, an ancient venue downtown that's in rough shape but has terrific acoustics. It was a brief show, maybe an hour and a half long with no opening act. Bob's voice was pretty much a thin croak, but the band was very tight and I would recommend seeing him at least once in your life if you like his stuff.

I was once resentful that Bob Dylan means the world to me and I had the apparent misfortune of being born in 1987. No, I can never witness the early folk concerts or the Rolling Thunder Revue or any of those wonderful things...but now I ask for nothing more than the Never-Ending Tour. I have seen him three times so far, and fortunately he is touring the Northeast again this summer. I swear, his band rocks like nothing else in the universe. They have a rapport and an attitude and an image that is like nothing else. Dylan sings like an absolute master--his high-driven, rhythmically-fascinating, soaring new arrangements of his old songs and his greatest new songs make an astounding live performance. He is like a great old showman, he affects a growling voice and he is awfully theatrical, but what the heck, he is living it up. I can't describe it. See him if you get the chance. The best concert I have been to was at the Minor League baseball stadium in Camden, NJ, where he played "It Ain't Me, Babe" as an encore, and it was absolutely heavy and thrashing and it brought out a whole new side to the song. People were dancing, going wild...I feel so fortunate every time I witness his live concerts and I am talking about NOW (2006).

I loved Dylan but seeing him live can be an adventure. he gives the fans Like Rolling Stone nearly ever encore, but on the whole his shows can be a mixed bag. always musically adept, i've been to Bob shows where his voice was shot. other times i've been to shows where Dylan and co decide to play mostly old spirituals or obscure tracks such as Silvo from rather lackluster albums. also Bob now has a tendency to take to the side of the stage and play keyboards instead of being front and center with his guitar, as if you've paid $70 to hear a band he just so happens to be a member of. that said, i've been to Dylan shows in recent years w/the ole goat blew my mind with his setlist.

I understand how Bob has had a worldwide influence on music, honestly, clarity of spiritual thought but I should like to make this connent personal. I'm just so grateful to have a kindred spirit through a life on this crazy world so packed with both beauty and insanity. Sending Bob love and light always. Jenn

The last time I saw Dylan in concert he was so coked up you could hardly understand him...I still like his music and songwriting, but would never go to see him perform again! Of course, that is just my opinon!!!

He is not a wild and crazy entertainer, but if you are a Dylan fan, it is pretty amazing to see him in concert.
