Season 1, fantastic, season 2, good.... still a fantastic show.

I hate this rating system....

After reluctantly starting to watch the show, I can now say that I’m an avid fan.  It’s in your face and sometimes I think that its content and handling of that content isn’t suitable for anything but pay-TV (HBO, Showtime, etc.), but with even that in mind, the moral dilemmas that are portrayed in The Shield are simply riveting.   Chiklis’ Vic Mackey is a supremely conflicted anti-hero.   I can say that the final episode of Season 5 was some of most gut wrenching TV I have ever watched.

Not your ordinary cop show. The Sheild is more a story about gangsters with badges ruling over the ghettos of LA. The filming style can sometimes be annoying trying to give a documentary-like feel, but the charaters are strong and story-line compelling. 13 epidodes a season is not enough....I need more. Defintely one of my favorites.

Please let's have a 2 year hiatus on cop shows!

An aweseme, cutting edge show. Michael Chiklis is so big and strong. Would like to see him beat up the criminals in a future show with his bare hands.

Smart show. Shows the diversity of cops. Good, bad, idealistic, honest, corrupt, hard working, in other words human!

Bad cop, annoying cop. I can think of a few other things Michael Chiklis is -lis: Talent-lis, Charisma-lis, [insert your own]-lis.

What the hell are you people watching? This is by far the BEST show on TV, far and away better than any of the other shows ranked ahead of it? This is defining drama with great story lines, one of the best ensemble casts ever and a fast break-necked pace that leaves you wanting more. If the violence and content disturbs you, go back to watching Adam-12 or CHIPs. A shame this show is ranked where it is, just ahead of some lame-O drama like The OC, which should stand for Overly Crappy.

I would like to meet the people that don't think this is the best show on t.v. and send Vic Mackey after them

If you thought Friends and NYPD Blue weren't family-friendly, then, my friends, you haven't seen anything yet. And, so, what little respect I had for the now useless cable station, FX, is thrown out of the proverbial window. This isn’t a cop show, this is pure and uninspired cynicism. By basing their shows in reality, writers sign off their imaginations–and in the case of this show–their sense of shame. Focusing on a group of–sadly, you guessed-corrupt criminal punk--cops, this show is a ‘headache drama’ through and through. Profanity is one thing this show has going against it, and it seems that any word truly goes. The show is also nihilistic and the polar opposite of good-natured (and well-written) crime shows like Quincy ME or Murder, She Wrote where the good guys always win and the criminals don’t get away easy. The acting is subdued, which makes me want to fall asleep all the more. It also has horrifically detailed sexual references, nudity, and gory violence. Thankfully, this show is losing advertisers by the week. Good luck to the Parents Television Council's campaign to get this show cancelled. What is with all of the cop and crime shows lately? Why not have a show where a group of superheroes goes around and stops these crimes, while telling people what they should do and shouldn’t do. Now, that, I would watch!

One of the greatest shows of all time. It's like a continuing movie. Very suspensful and graphic plots. Never hesitates to shock. I can't wait for season three.

Definately the best cop drama since "Law & Order".

I didn't watch this show at first but it is a really great,griping,realistic cop drama. Boy has the commish ever changed.

The Shield is an awesome show! It is the best new cop show around. Above all, it is very vivid, dealing with common everyday issues. Sometimes there are two, three, or even four storylines going on at the same time. Michael Chiklis is a great actor; he really deserved to win both the Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award for Outstanding Lead Actor respectively. The cast is really exceptional, and so is the writing. They deserved to win the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series of the year, since it is!

ClassicTVFan47 is a pompous bastard. I'll watch what I want and "The Shield" is a show I enjoy. I hope the emmy doesn't ruin Chiklis. I hope the writers can keep up with the fame. As it stands now; an intense and dark drama.

The only reason guys checked out Wonder Woman was because of two perfectly placed mounds..... The Shield is reality, if you can't handle it stick your head in a tiolet bowl you prissy bitch!

Not bad for an FX series, but isn't really all that great. Michael Chiklis is good, but not deserving of his emmy, and it's the writers that actually save the show.
