Benny Hinn
1
UPDATE: I watched that Dateline story of Benny Hinn that magu suggested (Show me the Benny.) That ten minute special showed us how Hinn spends the money that people who like him give to him. It was so shocking and deceiving, its comical. When anyone gives Hinn money, they automatically think that it is going towards the spread of the Gospel and poor people and charity WRONG. It is going towards $2000 per night luxury hotel rooms, $500 restaurant dinners, $80,000 cars, expensive clothes, lay overs which are really a holiday in a beach house when the pilot fuels the plane, his private jet, his big 7 bedroom mansion, administration and security guard fees, exotic holidays, on-show expensive weddings for his children, and only a very small percentage goes to what you think it is going to. Plus he has made false prophecies about Jesus returning before His second coming on his stage (which Jesus clearly warns us will NOT happen.) I would have to say, that Benny Hinn is a full on false prophet. I was giving him a chance, but after seeing evidence after evidence and Bible contradiction after contradiction, I would be either stupid or really weak not to see what person he really is. WAKE UP everyone who likes Hinn! Do not support him or give him ANY of your money. Just because someone calls the name of Jesus and reads from the Bible, it doesnt make them genuine. Because in Matthew 7:25 the false prophet said Lord (Jesus), Lord, I healed in your name and cast out demons in your name (and they probably preached in His name too) but Jesus said, I never knew you. You know a Christian by their fruits, and Hinns fruits dont look very good. Did you know that Satans servants masquerade as servants of righteousness and did you know that there is no false prophet who doesnt quote scripture? It would be very unusual for a false prophet not to know the Word of God back to front or to not quote it. His tactics into getting money are more dangerous now. It is now, It is a really evil thing to bring shame to the name of Jesus. If you give, you have exalted His name and obeyed the command of spreading the Gospel. ORIGINAL: I give Hinn a one rating for a number of reasons. For a start he curses those who oppose him which is clearly the opposite to what Jesus commands us to do. Jesus commands us to bless those who curse us. Secondly, he has scary false prophets who are either really extreme (eg they tell you to fast at least one day a week), or add to the Bible by giving prophecies of destruction that's going to happen. Of course, they always exalt his ministries. Thirdly, Hinn has this pastor called Steve (don't know his last name) who always manipulates you into giving away all of your money. It is a joke and could turn a lot of non-Christians off. I don't watch Hinn often, but the first time I saw Steve, his tactic was to convince you that if you have truly forgiven people, you will give $70 or $700. The level of your forgiveness is the level of your donations. The second time I saw Steve, now it was, 2005 is the year of grace which is available to all believers for free, BUT you must donate two lots of $500 (total of $1000) or 5 lots of $200. Steve is getting more gaim! Soon, he'll ask for $5000. Plus I've also heard that if you want to keep Satan under control, you must give a $40 donation. This is completely unbiblical because when Jesus observed people giving donations in the temple, He didn't carry on like that. And in the book of Acts when Apostle Peter needed donations, Peter didn't say to them that if they didn't give him $700, he could not preach the word and God wouldn't be able to work through him. The Christians, out of their own free will were lead to give all their possessions away. The point is, is that if those evangelists had real faith, they would depend on the Spirit to give people the desire to want to give. It is certainly not wrong to preach on giving, but a preacher who has to re-introduce OLD Covenant commands such as tithing or frighten someone into giving money, doesn't have true faith in God's provision. Also another dangerous thing, which people may get really hurt over. That is, at the end of his show, Hinn sometimes says eg, 'There is someone with a red shirt who has a bad headache, it is now going away, there is someone who is now receiving sight' etc. Well I say, there is a person reading this, with a blue shirt who has a sore back, now they are going to be healed! Of coarse, I just made that up. That's what Hinn is probably doing. That can really hurt someone, eg he may say someone is going to be healed of a serious eye condition, then that person waits and has the faith of a child. Then they realise that their condition is getting worse. It can make them feel as if God doesn't love them, yet He is healing everyone else. I would take Hinn with a grain of salt. Better still, I wouldn't watch him at all.
