Hal is interesting, you gotta give him that. He does make people think. I sense that GoneAway is a bit bitter about Christianity and believes that all Christians are evil. too bad.

He created some informative and interesting interpretations of Biblical prophecy. I believe in all of the prophecies, but I don't believe in all of his interpretations of them. I enjoyed reading several of his books, though. His end-times career has been going strong for over thirty years, which just goes to show that people have short memories.

Hal Lindsey. Great job! Acknowledge the Bible is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The truth WILL set you free. Believe Jesus IS the son of God! WE ARE living in the END days NOW!

Hal Lindsey is not a Prophet. He is just another man who has called himself to represent Christ without proper authority from god Heb5:4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron When are all of you Christians going to read the bible yourselves? There is a living prophet on earth today...By their fruits ye will know them...

God has always had his prophets. I have often thought that today, as so many of the events foretold in the ancient Scriptures are unfolding before our eyes, the ministry of the prophet seems to be that God has given them a particular love for the prophetic passages like Daniel and Ezekiel that were sealed by God until His own time, and the zeal to understand and share those words from Himself to this generation! Hal Lindsey was the first of today's prophets to turn this generation towards an interest in those Scriptures and a great desire to glean God's message from them.

Love how he tells news that other christian station don't tell about what is going on in our world today. This just helps us understand more about the last days, which we are in.

A prognosticator in the genre of Nostradamus. So vague that any of his forcasts can be interpretted as correct (or not). Although his theology is fairly sound, his predictions stink! But, he has made a name at it and cannot quit?? His ministry has no purpose. His rating at #8 shows you how little people value true prophets; of which he is not.

He has his eye on what is going on in the world and is one of only a rare few who tells about it and how it affects us prophetically.

Hal Lindsey has studied the bible (especially as it relates to prophecy) for many years. He is a highly educated and devoted man to God. This shows throughout his programs and especially on his audio tapes on the Books of the Bible and others. Hal Lindsey does not predict when the end of time will occur, he simply tells you from the bible how simple it is to understand its contents if you apply all the bible and current day events. He gives you actual scriptures, not from just one book of the bible, but from many books therein and if you read closely, Hal is "on target" with his biblical prophecy. I would suggest that you do as I have and order his audio tapes (Revelations, Daniel, Ezekiel, etc.), take some quite time with your bible and follow along, reading for yourself and applying it to today's time. I do not believe Mr. Lindsey is trying to fill your head with his thoughts (although he will at times be perfectly honest and give his belieth on a particular event and he does say, this is my belieth--you can have your own) but to encourage you to take the Bible and study it and get the anwsers for yourself. We all need good bible scholars to help us and he certainly has put his time in studying the bible for so many years. I personally do not see him that much on TV but listen to his audio tapes, take my bible and follow to see if I receive the same meaning. Hal Lindsey's current day comments are probably scary to some but look around, you can't say he's not right on what is happening in this world. I do not see him as a "doomsday predictor" but someone that wants to get the message out. I do not feel enough ministers have taught us about the Book of Revelations and Hal is trying to get that across to everyone. I would encourage you to try one of his tapes, get your bible, follow along, take notes and see for yourself. I do not worship Hal Lindsey, I worship God, but I very much appreciate his valuable leadership in the study of the bible. When it comes to TV Evangelists or writers of religion, I believe it is our responsibility to take the Bible, read the scriptures and learn. By doing this, you are able to "weed out" those that are in it for fame, false prophecy or greed. Make up your own mind but I have listened to Hal, followed in my bible and used other resources and I find him to be very helpful and concerned about our future. We all respond to different evangelists demeanor, voice, etc., so those that do not rate Mr. Lindsey high may just not connect. After all, he says it like it is. If you listen closely, however, you will find his message and beliefs to be the same as some of the higher rated evangelists on this rating site (Dr. Charles Stanley, as example). Dr. Stanley is a great evangelist and teacher also. If you like Dr. Stanley, I would ask that you give Mr. Lindsey a chance....he's not there to tell you what to do but tell you what he finds in the bible and asks that you find it for yourself and be prepared for what our future holds.

All theism is false. A vestige of humanity's unscientific infancy. People continue to hold on to these beliefs because: 1-They feel good. 2-They give immediate gratification. 3-They offer simplicity in an inescapably complex world. 4-They provide morality and meaning for those who want it given to them instead of finding their own way. 5-It gives them hope. But these are false hopes. Untruth should not be spread as truth, especially when it has caused so much hatred and war and undeserved shame as has religion. All evangelists are causing harm.

Poor end times hermeneutics. Revelations was first and foremost a letter from a real (inspired) author to a real audience. It must have meaning to them, contemporary interpretation cannot be applicable.

I recall way back when (early/mid ‘70’s) that the publication of Hal Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” caused a kind of frenzy in the world of Christian literature which even spilled over somewhat into the secular shelves. And, like any successful book, movie, or whatever it was followed by lots of knockoffs (and many similar books by the author himself). Though I am cautious not to swallow everything these apocalyptic books contain (I always think of those old cartoons with the guy in the long white beard caring a placard that reads “The End is Near”) I still think the fact that this book surfaced when it did was a positive thing in one sense. Mainly because the ideas it contained (I never actually read that particular book) challenged me to start thinking about the realities of Biblical prophesies in general. Many years later I picked up another book by Lindsey called “Road to Holocaust” which had many interesting thoughts concerning the events throughout history which eventually lead to the genocide of the Jews during WWII. I say interesting because it was through this book that I realized the amazing connectivity of Biblical prophesy throughout the entire Bible. It may sound a bit odd but looking back I really feel that God worked through Lindsey’s narrative to present this issue to me. On the downside, in many ways Lindsey, with his myriad publications and high profile on very questionable Christian television networks like TBN, presents a pretty good argument for being in the same league as other opportunistic “preachers” in the world today. I don’t know if that’s just an impression or is actually true. I do know that “Road to Holocaust” was informative, made good sense in many ways, and gave me some valuable insight. So, while I wouldn’t give him a five star recommendation I am willing to give him some benefit of the doubt at this point.
