Definetely not a man of God, after watching him on Hannity & Combs fox tv he seems like he would be better suited in the political arena than in the church.

It makes me sick to watch him. I love how they have the news desk and after the story they ask him for his opinion like he's Christ himself. It makes me sad to think that so many God-fearing people actually send money to this crook.

Although I agree with Pat on most of the issues, I do think he goes a little far with his predictions. I know of many of them, but watched him firsthand DEMAND that God turn that hurricane away from Virinia Beach last year. It wasn't a huge hurricane, but it did a lot of damage - and hit Virginia Beach HEAD ON! Also, what's up with all these people who write or email Pat with questions from finanial matters to marital advice to gardening tips? Do these people actually think he's an expert on everything? I'm going to email him about how to keep lumps out of my gravy. I'm sure he'll have the answer: Terry (Meeuwsen), doesn't this nit-wit know you have to sift the flour first? What's next. Oh, a question about surfing in South Australia vs. New Zealand. Well, Terry.......................

Pat Robertson is a delusional false prophet who seems to genuinely believe God talks to him about his plans for the world. When the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke he was all excited and said that God had told him He would punish Clinton (I'm no fan of Clinton, and I did not vote for him, I'm just making a point). Robertson said that he had previously thought it would be in the 1996 election and that Dole would win, but now it was this Lewinsky thing that would bring him down (as the '96 election was long over). Well, ol' Pat was therefore wrong about both the 1996 election and Lewinsky bringing down Clinton. And he was all hot and bothered about the Y2K thing (much like Van Impe), and that this was some sort of trigger for the end, but that fizzled too. Why do people keep accepting what this guy says? Aren't Christians supposed to reject the false prophets (especially when they are REPEATEDLY wrong)? Especially when they are far from the humble servant-types are supposed to be? Especially when they enrich themselves greatly from their ministry? At least his son is a bit more tolerable personality-wise, but I fear the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Pat Robertson is a Yale educated lawyer. Who is not afraid to take on difficult fights in the interests of promoting GOD'S kingdom. Anyway if he is so false why hasn't GOD discenegrated his ministry like the other ubgodly false ministries? HE has been in the business of salvation for many years and his ministry supports thousands of hurting people, npt just the physically impoverished but the mentally and spiritually impoverished also. --Update-- We cant always be perfectly cheery and happy all the time christians are people to and Pat Robertson is old. I am sure he gets cranky like most old folks. Just because you are a Christian doesnt mean you are all of a sudden some super-kind person who never offends anyone.
SummerDreamin 05/02/2004
He was losing credibility with me by having Joyce Meyer and Kenneth Copeland on his program, but it was all lost when I saw his son, Gordon, on Benny Hinn's program a couple of weeks ago. Even the devil is embarrassed by some of the asinine remarks Benny Hinn has made.

LISTEN TO ALL THIS CRAP PAT ROBERTSON SAID! Keep in mind, now. Pat Robertson said all this. Pat: It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-biased media and the homosexuals who want to destroy all Christians In the 1990s and beyond, the battle is not going to be fought much longer between Christianity and atheistic humanism, but between Christianity and satanic-inspired Eastern regions. The wars of extermination have given a lot of people trouble unless they know what was going on. The people in the land of Palestine were very wicked. They were given over to idolatry; they sacrificed their children; they had all kinds of abominable sex practices; they were having sex, apparently, with animals; they were having sex men with men, and women with women; they were committing adultery, fornication; they were worshipping idols, offering their children up; and they were forsaking God. God told the Israelites to kill them all -- men, women and children, to destroy them. And that seems to be a terrible thing to do. Is it? Or isn't it? [The] feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians. Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history.

Pat Robertson is a definite scum bag! He has a narrow point of view and definitely belongs back in the dark ages so he can burn witches with the rest of his scummy friends. I pick no religion that this guy likes because I HATE him so much. He makes me so mad when I see him on TV because he is narrow minded and a money grubbing bastard. WHAT do people see in this cheating loser?
Solenoid DH 04/15/2004
Pat Robertson has been a success in several areas: preaching, broadcasting, writing books, and he was once a military officer, and even a boxer. I disagree with his theology on several points...many in fact, but so what? He puts on an intelligent TV show and broadcasts news items that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Unfortunately, the words TV evanglelist cause a Pavlovian response in many people, and the stereotypes begin. Even most church people I've known refer to these guys sneeringly as electronic evangelists. Why do we not disapprove of electronic politicians, and insist that they are only genuine if they're giving their speeches to us in person? What about electronic actors? We don't insist that they limit their visibility to live audiences. What about electronic athletes? Nobody claims that they should only play before stadium audiences, and should stay off television. But we condemn ministers for preaching on television, and act as though ALL of them are charlatans. I'm also curious about people who object to a minister making money (and incidentally, I do NOT make much money at all), but who see no problem with people in every other walk of life making a good living. I'm a minister and I'll never be on TV because I have neither the business sense to know how, nor the charisma to draw an audience. I don't have any ambition to be on the air anyway. But I'm glad for any who are genuinely trying to spread the Gospel that way. Robert Schuller is very simplistic and bores me. But I won't criticize him, because I know that he's trying to reach people who know nothing about the Bible. Once people get into his church, there is a strong Christian Education Program for them. Also, give Schuller credit for not ever asking for money on television. There are things Jerry Falwell does that I don't care for, but he's an American who should be allowed the same opportunity to express his views that all of us are meant to enjoy in this country. If people don't agree with him, they can support someone else that they do agree with. Personally, I think Dr. James Kennedy in Florida has the best program on the air. There are others that I think are genuine: John Hagee, James Robison, Adrian Rogers, for example. I disagree with every one of them in some of their teachings. And I don't especially like some of their methods. But I'm not going to paint all TV Evangelists with a broad brush. To do so would be intellectual laziness, and just another form of bigotry.

In the early 80's I faithfully sent what little money I had to Pat and his dream of quality family television called The Family Channel. Several years later he sold TFC for MILLIONS!!! I would love to ask for my money back but of course he would laugh me off of his billion dollar complex in Virginia Beach. Guys like him make me sick but he makes me even sicker with his partisan political theology. Believes that America being a totally Christian nation will bring Christ back to earth even quicker. When Christ does come will He recognize Pat or say depart from Me, I never knew you???

I had the misfortune of waiting on him at a restaurant I worked in while in college. He is one of the most arrogant people I have ever met. He thinks people are there to respond to his every quirk. Robertson is inconsiderate and demanding, not at all like his onstage persona. What an aristocratic fake. Worst of all, he is a lousy tipper.

Would be truly scary if he weren't so prone to foot in mouth disease that shows him for what he is - another false prophet promoting theocracy rather than democracy. Also has shamelessly turned non-profit ministries into for profit enterprises devoted to the enrichment of Pat Robertson, Inc. Also consorted with the likes of Charles Taylor to enrich himself on the backs of oppressed people in Africa.
Terminator 11/22/2003
Pat is and has been falling into the same genre as Hal Lindsey and is doing about as well. Pat's theology is fairly sound, but his focus on prognostication grows ever more weary. Like Lindsey, his predictions fail, yet he keeps on doing it. God cannot be predicted and Robertson and Lindsey are two living examples of that!

osoares 08/05/2003
I'm not American, I saw his show and liked the Christian message and point of view behind it all. I might not agree with the extreme nationalistic point of view but that's a minor issue. I think they try to do a good job, God's work and the reason I see they're succeeding is that they have made so many enemies. Satan hates the good Christian.

Pyrolon 07/27/2003
Pat can be rather amusing. He is a classic theocrat and wishes to create a christian theocracy in the United States. When he prays his squinting really cracks me up, and his 'word of knowledge' faith healings are truly bizarre. His fundraising is quite shameless, the '700' in the name of his show has to do with the number of donors giving a certain large sum of money. (A modest request for funds during a broadcast really should be sufficient not a whole event) On the positive side despite his archaic perspective that is like bottled pilgrim (vintage 1620), he doesn't seem artificial or scripted. I do sense a certain intelligence in the guy as well. I thought I'd give him 2 stars since sometimes his news stories aren't too bad, though often you can see their slant, and some are alarmist (his tirade against nutra-sweet for example) I guess one man's theology really is another's belly laugh. [eyes squiting hard] AMEN
StanUzbeck 07/26/2003
I don't care whether the rating system is meant to reflect his professional skills, whether he is a "good" or "bad" televangelist or a "good" or "bad" christian. The man is a disgusting piece of hateful ignorant bigoted inhuman garbage and a leech on humanity's backside. He and the rest of his sick, money-soliciting ilk should be lined up and shot in the face.

Pat loves America. The America our forefathers built, a country that was based on and had its roots deep in moral values. Contrary to popular belief, our forefathers were not atheists, and based laws on Biblical teachings. Our country is a great nation because we were built on the Rock of Jesus Christ. Many people say you can't legislate values. Well guess what, you have to!! People cannot run rampant doing whatever they want whenever they want, obviously. Abortion was illegal because human life was valued by this country!! I mean, MURDER is illegal, PROSTITUTION, DRUGS, ect. Pat is a wonderful man and is trying to get this message across to people because he truly believes it. He isn't all about politics, but he truly knows this country needs the Lord and quick!! FIVE STARS PAT!!

I have heard this mans views and read his quotes, and I have come to the simple conclusion that he is a theocratic fascist. The only difference between this man and Osama bin Laden is that one calls his god yhwh(look it up if you care at all about christianity)and the other calls his allah. He is blatently bias and has no respect for the civil liberties and well-being of anyone outside the Jewish/Christian religions.I read a speech where he was saying that only Jews and Christians should be in gov. and he insinuated that everyone outside of those groups were not people.

Mr. Robertson has done more than almost anyone else to turn the Republican Party into a religion (or vice-versa).
entranger 05/26/2003
He preaches hate, encourages bigotry and prejudice. He seems to think he has a right to tell others how to live their lives. His homophobia, racism and religious bigotry are sickening. He's as much of a Christian as Dubya is. A complete fraud who uses religion to lend authenticity to his demented ravings. I don't believe in his idea if God.

resisobilus 02/17/2003
All theism is false. A vestige of humanity's unscientific infancy. People continue to hold on to these beliefs because: 1-They feel good. 2-They give immediate gratification. 3-They offer simplicity in an inescapably complex world. 4-They provide morality and meaning for those who want it given to them instead of finding their own way. 5-It gives them hope. But these are false hopes. Untruth should not be spread as truth, especially when it has caused so much hatred and war and undeserved shame as has religion. All evangelists are causing harm.

There are many reasons why Pat Robertson is a cancer to society...1. He said "feminism is anti family and encourages witchcraft, killing of their children and lesbianism" In Robertson's world, women stay home and take care of their men. Bah! 2. He threatens the women who have abortions 3. He mixes religion with politics. Like Al Sharpton, he tried to run for president. 4. He makes money off gullible people. 5. Most important reason of all. Good old Pat agreed that Gays, Feminists, and ALCU contributed to the WTC bombing. BTW, one of passengers on Flight 93 was a gay man. His name was Mark Bingham. 6. Like everyone said, Pat is a hypocrite. He hates American women for getting abortion. But he doesn't object Chinese women aborting their kids.
