Very nice movie.Cary Grant proves that he's very good even in the movies where he's not on top of the situation ("His Girl Friday", "Holiday", "The awful truth"), but also where he's the victim. The "Mr. Peabody, I'll be with you in a minute" is very funny, since it happens sevral times in the beginning.I like this movie almost as much as "Holiday" (which is in my opinion his best movie)

Two fine actors at work learning how to do comedy. Letdown by a weak story. Thankfully they both went on to bigger and better things.

Hawks has an excellent film here. Well directed, funny too - even with today's standards (whether high or low they may be). This film really turned me on to Cary Grant as an actor, and prompted me to watch several more of the movies that he was in. Beginning to about 15 minutes from the end, it's very good. Worth the watch for sure.

Funny movie. Grant & Hepburn

This film is brilliant because it takes the old-style silent-film slapstick pioneered by Harold Lloyd and melds it to another genre, the brisk pace of the talkies. Grant, who started out as an acrobat, fully exploits those talents, and Hepburn is at her best as his domineeringly affectionate companion, as she wheedles him away from his boring fiancee. Unlike some of Howard Hawks's other comedies, like His Girl Friday, there is really no dark side to the story. A nice depiction of how childishly playful romance can be.

One of the best screwball comedies. I would have given it a 5, but the last 15-20 min of the film sort of fall apart.

It's actually pretty good until it falls apart towards the end. For some unknown reason the writers forgot how to write.

Hilarious, zany and fun screwball comedy. Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn are perfect. Hepburn especially hits a homerun and proved that she could do a screwball comedy. Excellent supporting cast with May Robson, Charles Robson and Walter Catlett.

I've only seen a few Katharine Hepburn films and this by far is my favorite! She is so much fun and she moves quickly from scene to scene it never gets dull. Cary Grant is also great. His forte was totally the screwball comedy.

This is a fast paced and fun comedy. I think it is Cary Grant's best movie.

By far, this is one of the best screwball comedies ever made. Grant and Hepburn are priceless, and the snappy dialoge is wonderful. Fabulous, fabulous film.

By means of this movie, I managed to convince my 16-year-old sister and a half dozen of her friends that black-and-white movies can be good (they even rented it again themselves when I wasn't there)!
