I must say, a few weeks ago I would not have even bothered to watch "The Bachelor" but I decided to watch the special as I was curious about each of these men and I have wondered how and why they would even consider this avenue to find that special person. After I had watched the interviews I picked Aaron Buerge myself and when it was announced he would be the next bachelor, well, I just had to see how he would handle himself. I want to commend those who choose this young man. I have never been so impressed with anyone as I have been with him. His honestly towards these young lady's and how he has handled each and every situation has been an inspiration. From where I sit as a viewer and based on what we are allowed to see, you couldn't have found a better candidate than this young man. There is no doubt in my mind that his sole mate and perfect match is Helene. She has impressed me so much with her strength and ability to stand up for herself and say what's on her mind. She has morals and princials and is very concerned about her reputation and the damage all of this publicity could do with regards to her own career should things not work out for them. "Yes, she knew all of the possibilties before hand but probably never dreamed it would go this far". This is why she had been keeping her feelings so guarded. He even mentioned how much he respected and admired her for being so open and honest about her feelings and why she may leave. This is what he is looking for in a women and she is the one who will challenge him and make him happy. The chemistry between these two young people is so obvious. He can see and feel her natural beauty, she's not afraid to laugh at him as well as with him. She's fun and sincere. I admire this young lady and commend her for standing up for herself. "She's nobody's fool" I had observed Helene's hesitates at a few of the Rose Ceremonies and understood it. When Aaron would ask a question more personal you can tell she is embarrassed and her answers are short and fast. Relationships are hard enough on any couple, add the world watching you. I don't know how any of them have stood the pressure. The camera's are a real problem for her but "when they're alone, she'll have no problem what so ever, expressing herself to him". She is falling hard for him and wants him for all the right reasons. The last Episode 6 proved to me she's not thinking about the money, or the status. She's for real and has heart. When Aaron meant her family that shed a lot of light on why she is guarded. It all became clear to him being the only girl and having three older brothers plus her career in an elementary school. Aaron has always known the type of women he's looking for and Helene is the one. They are perfect for each other.

While I can not believe I have gotten hooked on this program, I find that I can not get enough of it. However, reality TV? Please, this is as far from reality as I think you can get. Christy said it in a few interviews "It is not like real life, you only have a few days to develope strong feelings for this guy". I would like to see it more like Survivor, where the girls are on teams and have to do challenges for a date. You know, like cooking, cleaning and running arround picking up his cleaning and watching him watch sports while he yells at the TV.

i agree with the bashers this show is Pathetic, an excuse for some dude to get it on with 50 backstabbing sluts for the a few weeks, only to dump the finalist a week after the show. It 's gross guys, and girls, gross.....

I don't know what to say. This show has to be the worst thing on TV, just a notch above "Howard Stern." Ugh.

This is the only program that I actually make an honest effort to watch faithfully. Last season the bachelor picked the one I wanted him to. True, she's busty, but if he picked Trista people'd complain because he picked the thin one! The ladies were a lot more wholesome and stable last time, but I'm enjoying these crazy immature gals this go round. I like Brooke, but her accent irks me. I think Helene may be more trifling than she's let on thus far. Can't wait until next week!!

First Weeks episode: Out of curosity, who is writing this script? I don't mean to sound insulting. This show gives the impression that it is a soap opera, which has been written by a group of writers who had too much to drink. Sorry, not very realistic and what is it with these females that were selected? Their behavior makes me ashamed to be connect to the female race. Why can't the producer come up with a male who is more reserved and who exhibits more mature behavior. Let's face it, no one cares about some guy and girl having a televised grouping session, in very poor taste. A suggestion try to leave out the groping sessions, and I'm sure that the show will be a success in the long run. ===== Second Weeks episode: This show was a little bit better, a little more reserved. Ladies, he is only a man and there is only one of him. Why on earth would any intelligent female wait around for a man? It just doesn't make sense. There is an old saying; women of the show The Bachelor 2. Get down off the Cross, because some else needs the wood. Get over it ladies and learn to lose gracefully, please have some pride and when the party is over walk away, but not hysterically.

I'm with bruijin- top shelf guilty pleasure. You cringe for the "contestants" when they come off hurt or surprised. I mean, hello, only one comes out alive. What did you expect? IT'S A GAME. I think the reverse version will be much different. It's a commonly held truth that some men can date indefinitely without an emotional investment. That will take away much of the angst we see in the male bachelor setup. There will, I expect, be even more competition among men, whether they're actually interested in her or not. I agree, it's trash TV, but woman cannot live on CNN alone.

How much lower can we go? Degrading to women and men.

I have just seen the second showing of "The Bachelor" with Alex Michel. First, Amanda deserved what she got. The only reason why she increased her bust size was so that it would match her big butt! I give her 5 years before she is a regular heifer. Second, Alex is an loser and only looking for noriaty and a free quick lay, which Amanda so quickly gave. She basically stated in the beginning, "Most people think I am innocent, but in truth, I am very open sexually." Uh, can't tell you are EASY with that statement now can we????? Trista is way too good for Alex and this show just confirms my thoughts that all men are out for sex only with women.

Who is more pathetic? A. ABC for ripping off Who wants to marry a Multimillionaire? B. The Darva Conger clones. C. The Bachelor's personality is fake like Michael Jackson's nose. In the end, this catch choosed the girl with fake tits. D. All of the above. I doubt that any fan can persuade me to watch Bachelor 2.

Yet another in the now long line of imbecilic "reality" show offerings. You have to give the TV execs credit though...they've certainly managed to isolate the idiot portion of the population and are REALLY cashing in on it big time. This ka ka is about as real as the WWF - except it has less social and cultural value.
ginacihak 05/09/2002
I loved the show, it takes you out of the normalcy of everyday life to a little fairytale and we need that sometimes. I am looking forward and can't wait for the next airing

Yet another in a long string of reality t.v. shows. This show however is a sad commentary on sexism in this country. These smart(I use the term loosely) and beautiful women competing over one (questionably) good catch? Why? To get on t.v. perhaps. The women are like prostitutues....selling themselves short. Get some self respect ladies!
realitygirl 04/26/2002
I missed most of the episodes but what I did catch of it, it didn't seem too bad. It's right up my alley I like reality shows. I did catch the last show last night and it didn't surprise me that he would pick either Trista the Miami Heat dancer or Amanda with her boob job. But what did surprise me was that he never proposed to Amanda, he bought the ring but never gave it to her. Is that a sign of where their relationship is going.

This show is sheer genious!! The only thing that sucks is that the guy turned out to be a skank :s Duh, Amanda has the tits, ass and she obviously has good sex. He just turned out like a real idiot.
Well 04/24/2002
He started out like a dream date then turned out to be a frog. I guess his high education did not make him into a better person.
accordgal 04/23/2002
I love this show. I think it is better than the reality shows that they have to eat gross stuff, and do dangerous tricks!! It's real life!!
bruijin 04/17/2002
This show is definitely a BIG-TIME guilty pleasure!
yiya 04/16/2002
this show is really entertaining!

This show is terrible! It makes a mockary out of women, dating, and of marriage. These women gives all us other women bad names. What can really expect from Disney (ABC)?
candacelg 04/08/2002
what a sad reminder of how many shallow people there really are in our world...
oodie 04/08/2002
another god awful reality show....i think i smell Armageddon in the air.
Roswellfan 04/07/2002
This so-called reality show is a Temptation Island and Who wants to marry a multimillionaire rip-off. I don't like to see smart women throwing themselves to that smug media whore. But worst of all, these ladies whine about not getting a rose. "WWWWWAA, I have good qualities". These people are so pathetic. My advice is to skip this trash and watch Everybody loves Raymond instead.
norelle 04/03/2002
mo dumb blondes, hoochies, gold diggas, pigions, chicken heads, that r only after money
Pineapple01 04/02/2002
I rate this show four stars because it's really great. But it's sort of like Survivor. I think we already have enough of that type of show and incase you haven't heard the radio about your new show, they rate lower than a point of a star! I like it and I think it's fun but you could spruce it ip a bit and get a little bit more action. Sometimes it's a little boring just watching people talk in a pool of mud!
