Politics aside for now, Rumsfeld is the Secratery of Defense. So far, I haven't seen any more terror attacks here at home. Doing a great job defending us. Excellent speeches and work on the war in Afghanstan and Iraq. He definetely knows what he is doing. As for politics, he's a Republican. Enough said.

great guy kicks butt

He may be gruff and appear confrontational, but he is a major stabilizing force in the defense department. His briefings to the nation are clear, concise, and succinct, albeit abrupt at times. However, in a time of crisis, you want someone to tell you the unabashed facts and situations, minus the fluff and b.s. Don Rumsfeld is smart, articulate, and professional.

My political feelings aside, there is probably no Republican more equipped to be Secretary of Defense than Donald Rumsfeld. His response to the September 11th attacks was very quick and decisiveness, and he has continued to play a vital role in the War on Terror. He has been involved in politics and defense for decades, even serving as President Ford's Secretary of Defense from 1975 to 1977. Again, my political feelings notwithstanding, this guy is definately an adequete Secretary of Defense.

He's quite a scary individual. I'm speaking as someone from outside the US. He comes across as very arogant and self-rightous.Its scary to think what country he may set his sights on next. This pre-emptive strike thing will not do the US any favours in the long run. He seems to think that he's the man and nobody should disagree with him. He may be intelligent and straight speaking, but he has no charisma. Even the Prime Minister of Spain, one of Americas closest allies in the war said that he'd appreciate less of Donald Rumsfeld and more of Colin Powell.

part of the real axis of evil with Asskoft and Cheney. I'd hate to be his wife because his macho Defense (or should I say offense) Dept. approach suggests not much below the belt. Too bad he has to drag the rest of the world into his overcompensation. His recent tirade on the media showing the same vase being removed from the Iraq museum is classic complete with sorority girl smarm: "Like, my God! They showed the same thing over again! Like there's even that many vases in Iraq! Duuuh!" Well, there aren't anymore thanks to you Donny. See you in hell, warmonger.

Let me tell you an joke that I heard, that I think gives a suitable opinion about Donald Rumsfeld. There was a Texan cowboy, an Native American Indian and a Muslim sitting on a bench. The Indian said to the Muslim, " We were once many, but now we are few. The white man has taken and pilleged all that we had." The Muslim said, "We were once few, but now we are many. We grow and prosper." Then the Texan cowboy said, " Well that's because we ain't played cowboys and muslims yet." The resemblance between the cowboy and Donald Rumsfeld is somewhat uncanny. Don't you think?

Rumsfeld is a warmongering lunatic who is killing our nation. His crazy view is going to cause unncessary destruction and death in Iraq and to our own soldiers.

Kicking tail and taking names.

Rumsfeld is a tough talking politician who has had a fair degree of success in political infighting in Washington. His interest is not in building the Armed Forces as an institution but rather as driving it to support the political aims the the Bush administration. Like the rest of the senior people in the Bush administration he has no military service. Rumsfeld is not interested in having generals who point out the problems of military solutions for the administration's political aims. The result is the promotion system for generals is much more based upon the expression of political views than competence. This is not a good development if you care about the long term future of the U.S. miliary.

Insane lunatic bent on world domination. Seriously...listen to what the guy says. If he doesn't like the way your country looks at him, watch out.
bjstrykker 01/03/2003
Unyielding and unthinking warmonger engaged in a constant big dick swinging contest with other nations serving only to further alienate the U.S. from the rest of the world. He is a fascist and the Rumsfeld-Ashcroft-Cheney triumvarate is earning disrespect around the world.
filly1776 01/02/2003
Perhaps one of the most powerful and sincere defense secretaries in history, Mr. Rumsfeld combines tough rhetoric backed up with actions.
gmanod 12/16/2002
Rumsfeld is a fascist hawk. Definetly one of the more dangerous members of the Bush team. His total lack of honesty, consistency, and morals settles nicely with every god-loving rascist or mentally handicapped lemming. REMEMBER THIS IS THE GUY WHO AS SPECIAL ENVOY TO IRAQ DURING THE REGAN ADMINISTRATION, DECIDED TO GIVE SADDAM HUSSEIN WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION TO BE USED AGAINST THE IRANIANS; KILLING MILLIONS!!!!!
Shukhevych 12/08/2002
Experienced and smart, but too much of a hawk.
Stephan86 12/04/2002
Rumsfeld is okay. He could use a little more accuracy and trust in the nation, but all around is doing nicely.

A fine American who has my trust and undying gratitude. He also has a good sense of humor.
