LaunchCast has gone through several revisions. I started using it several years ago before Yahoo took over, and it was a pretty good music website. The best feature was that you could customize your own radio station. You couldn't actually specify a playlist, but if you gave a song or artist a high rating, it would play more often than stuff that you gave low ratings, and you could even completely exclude songs or artists that you didn't want to hear at all. Then at some point Yahoo took over with very little changes, other than the fact that I could no longer sign into my old account, so I had to start my ratings over. Under either of these two incarnations, I would have given it five stars. But a couple months ago, Yahoo made some sort of agreement with CBS Radio, and the customized radio stations disappeared. For me, this was a major downgrade, as I'd spent a fair amount of time rating songs and artists to make a radio station that I thoroughly enjoyed. The only improvement is that stations that were formerly available only to paying customers are now available for free, but I'd rather have my customized station. UPDATE: You are limited to how many songs you can skip, and since my old ratings and exclusions are no longer used, I just had to waste a skip on a Freddy Fender song which wouldn't have even played a few months ago...

My internet music site of choice, imperfect as it may be. Pros: 1) Wide variety of music. Many different stations to choose from, from many genres. 2) Large collection of videos. 3) It's free. There IS an option for paid service which has some benefits. (Launchcast Plus) 4) Ability to skip songs you don't like (limited in free service). 5) Ability to rate songs, and mark ones that you don't like so that they never play again. 6) Also has a collection of videos in Spanish; I don't know if there are any other different languages that they take into account, but if there is I'll probably end up stumbling upon them sooner or later. CONS: 1) Video collection, though broad, is still limited to more popular stuff. 2) Mandatory commercials after every 2 songs, unless you get the paid service. I get tired of hearing commercials about sanitary pads and shampoo all the time. Don't worry, guys: at least for my husband, he gets a different set of commercials. Hope you guys like Bacardi. 3) Does have a tendency to freeze up and crash on occasion. Well, okay, MORE than occasionally. Sometimes, it lags and requires some buffering time. 4) You get to skip five songs an hour for the free service; not a problem for me, but something my husband complains about a lot. 5) I can't get it to work on either Netscape or Firefox, so I have to resort to using Explorer. OVERALL: I'd suggest giving it a shot.

Being an eclectic music listener, it's good that I can make my own radio station format, as you can with Launch. Now, I can hear Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash within the same hour.

A good selection of various music videos but, unfortunately, many listed artists have no available songs. Still a great music site that I enjoy.

Launch never works when I attempt to log on. It tells me my system is missing plug-ins and it fails to show which sites have plug-ins. I don't like it.
