Ligamusic claims to have a simply enormous catalog - over 200,000 albums online. This seemingly extensive catalog contains not just the latest and greatest, but also older tracks too - which lots of people (like me) are shopping for. I have had a tendency to lose CD's over the years, so this is a good way for me to reclaim (cheaply) the music I've already bought in the past.

The site MP3.com is a fairly good music site with great downloads. I liek the hardware reviews and they are pretty prefessional about the products they endorse. I have gotten thier mp3cds off thier site and they are pretty well made and they have good mp3's on the cd's they are good to test on a mp3 cd player like the aiwa cdc-mp3 if you do not a have a computer cd burner. I like the way the site looks annd the main page kinda looks like a mp3 player. I also like the song selectino there but It is mostly of new artists and it mostly is restrictive about the file transfers and limited use of those files. I also think that they limit quite a bit what you do with your music liek burning them to a cd or using them in realjukebox or a dj program, like napster is currently implementing. I don't really think it is mp3.com's fault since the riaa is doing all this anti-copy stuff. all these companies are not to blame it is the RIAA and all those greedy artists that only concentrate on the cash and not the true things liek the music and the fans! so I think mp3.com is a great source for digi-net-music!!

Mp3.com doesn't have everything, but for what it is... It's actually pretty damn good. You'll find lots of underground or unknown bands.. Some of which will impress you.. And guess what the bands get paid, even though it's measly, they still get paid... powderburn is a great band to look into while you're there.
maksiam 01/09/2001
Awesome place to find music.
J Koenigstorfer 01/08/2001
Very good quality and very useful. It takes a long time.
Brainwave 12/18/2000
Yes, you have to register. Yes, they're joining forces with the evil music industry. But you can still find interesting, fun, new music there pretty easily-loads of it! Ditch Napster and you might find something extrodinarily cool. Be avant-garde!
Dailo 12/12/2000
I went to this site a couple of times, and didn't find what I wanted to. It's been a while since I last visited but it was hard to navigate. I had to turn to other resources to find what I was looking for.
Jon123456 11/24/2000
The MP3's on this site are amateur. They are unprofessional. The songs are unknown and therefore there is no popularity or demand.
BenN 11/24/2000
This site has a vast MP3 library but navigation is not very intuitive. Download times are usually slow as well.
YassiG 11/24/2000
This web site is similar to Napster. You can download free songs from this site.
shawna 11/21/2000
MP3.com offers a valuable service to those who want to make their CD collection (they own) portable through the computer. The company, MP3.com, has already paid for rights to many songs, so they are already smoothed out with the business aspect of their operation.
HBK2K 11/21/2000
I don't like MP3.com. You have to join it and fill out all kinds of member BS, and then the choice of music videos that you get to see aren't that great. You can't really download too many good MP3's, or maybe you can but it is hard to figure out.
Agent-05 11/21/2000
MP3.com is a cool place to learn about MP3's and get up to date info on the MP3 community, but I don't like the way the MP3 files are organized.
psychokilla 11/21/2000
I hate it! There aren't any good MP3s there so I use Napster or Scour. It's all for underground bands and no mainstream bands. I'm glad they got sued for $150 million, and I hope they shut down.
Rondo 11/21/2000
I'm glad they are getting sued. Copyright infringement ain't cool with me. Besides, there new service "mymps", sucks.
MainyMange 11/21/2000
When I need something to do with MP3's, MP3.com has what I need. I think MP3 needs more reliable FTP's to get files off of. Everything should be free having to do with MP3's because we all know it's stealing, but hey, that's alright.
skimman 11/20/2000
The software they provide is great. One thing that is bad is that they lack in MP3 files. It only allows the demos to be downloaded so that is another flaw.
DiggyDigums 11/17/2000
The reason I gave this a one is because every time you want to download a song it won't let you for some legal reason. It's really not worth visiting this site anymore.
jdunivan 11/17/2000
There are a good way to get music I like, such as the Beatles. I like to get stuff for free. They might not be around for long.
Knotty 11/17/2000
I think they're okay, but for inexperienced users who don't know anything would probably go to that site first. It's like the "AOL" for "MP3's", meaning it's user friendly. I think the idea of putting free downloads of independent artists is good, however, I feel putting material for sale wasn't a kosher idea. Copyright infringement isn't cool at all. I feel if there were free downloads it would be a lot more interesting. Also, I feel that they should have free samples of upcoming albums as well.
Blainediggityb ling 11/16/2000
They have MP3's of a lot of really good, underground bands. The two bests bands they feature are Sworn Venegance and Antagony.
shorty 11/15/2000
MP3.com is useless. If you want current, popular music (or even just music you've heard of) this is not the place to go. Any artist featured is usually very obscure.
SPIICE 11/15/2000
This site is useless...MP3's should be free. Also it is too confusing to navigate through.
j-boy 11/14/2000
MP3.com is a cool website because you can listen to music that you had or that your never had and now you can download music too. So I mean I'm on the computer constantly and I am always listening to music.
docalot 11/13/2000
Very bad website. Can never find any popular music, only "imitation" music. Downloads never work. It is a waste of time.
dubc 11/10/2000
The graphic designs on MP3.com's website are some of the best. I can typically find all the music I need there. The download time is faster than a lot of other sites, and the playback quality is great.
moiseshot 11/10/2000
This site sucks. I can't find my music interest at all. Doesn't look good, but has a good domain name. This site needs a lot of work.
crackles 11/10/2000
I love MP3.com, beacause I get to hear all the good music that other artists make. That's why both of my bands have our MP3's in there (antagony.com and scoldingromeo.com).
Josh77 11/08/2000
Very hard to download songs from this site. I kept being sent to other sites.
flipio 11/08/2000
MP3.com is cool because I like the fact that it gives me a variety of choices of MP3 players and it's plug ins. It also gives a rating on each software. MP3.com keeps me informed on what's out there. I trust MP3.com on giving me the best.
aticus 11/08/2000
MP3.com is a fairly decent website. It has pretty good music, but you have to pay for most of the good stuff.
rcr12170 11/02/2000
MP3.com is very easy to use. The only thing that I don't like about it is, it doesn't have a lot of popular artists on there.
sly142 11/01/2000
I love this site because not only does it provide downloadable music, but it gives info. on all the hottest artists in music. Easy layout as well, easy to navigate.
acuransx 11/01/2000
When searching for a song or artist's name, the search results gives you "out of this world" results. It doesn't give you what you are searching for. It provides streaming samples of MP3 files so you can listen to part of the song before you spend time to download it.
swee6793om 11/01/2000
I personally don't like this site at all. Lot of the stuff you have to pay for. Also, it's more of the up and coming artists that one does not know about. So you really don't know what you are downloading.
hailez 10/31/2000
Best place to get all the music you want. Great selection.
drewdog 10/31/2000
This site is great for music lovers. I go to this site a lot and was able to find songs I like and MP3 players to use.
jscottie 10/30/2000
Powerful outlet for many local and garage bands. It fully extracts the potential of this relatively new mass medium. Clean interface, competent selections and up-to-the-minute news on all the happenings in the mp3 world. I know of many friends that have bought CDs from tiny garage bands such as Trance.
madmansj 10/27/2000
This is the place where you can download music from a website. Very easy to download, depending on what music you're downloading
luongdo 10/26/2000
Great musical software, but crashes A LOT. Also, poor connection quality sometimes.
premed 10/24/2000
Beam It (its download component) is fast and easy to use. I like receiving free music downloads, although many are not my choice/type of music. The new coverage (of its ongoing saga with lawyers) is quite entertaining and intelligent. Checked now by court problems. I'm rooting for them to win!
coolguy 10/24/2000
Hard to find songs. Has no songs in there. The site is always down.
puck 10/24/2000
I love the fact that it has changed the way music is bought and listened to. It's made music accessible to our generation without paying through our hats for it.
keysersoze 10/24/2000
Nice collection of mp3 software. Not good to find music you want. Good reviews on mp3 players.
Padilla 10/24/2000
This site can be useful. Sometimes you have to upload a song in order to download one. It takes a long time.
Kille 10/24/2000
I didn't find much good information at the site. I can't find the music I like (i.e. all music is small unknown bands).
EXCALIBUR7 10/06/2000
The site is very interactive. You can find almost anything on music.
JUVENAL 10/05/2000
THIS SITE IS VERY INTERACTIVE YOU CAN FIND ANYTHING ON MUSIC.
kenv6090et 08/01/2000
MP3 is great! Check out Geppetto's Blues... www.mp3.com/kenvogel
snyp9187om 07/31/2000
I didn't like this site because it hardly has any famous rappers. I do admit that I like there player. I think they need more well known artists on their site. The downloads are quick so that is what I like. I also find that some bands aren't that bad. I prefer Napster.
