This site pretty much SUCKS! I didn't pay for the "UPGRADED" membership because I wanted to see how credible this place was first. Well...it's been close to three years since I've been bidding for jobs and I've gotten ZERO! I actually had one person contact me for a job, but when I mentioned that I refuse to do unlimited revisions without charge, that basically canned that. Yeah. This place is BOGUS. I'm a good designer, love dealing fairly with my clients and providing them good work. But it's impossible to get your foot in Guru's door. For the people who've posted previously saying you've received work. I would love to hear about what you're doing and how you write out your bids. And also if you're an employee of Guru.com. I swear, Guru.com is so bad it fatigues me to talk about them anymore.

What movie? Is anyone on this post talking about a movie? And an Indian one at that! What the hell are you talking about? Hmm, is this yet another little bit of evidence that might prove my earlier point, that Guru sends all of it's work to India? Seems you're on the wrong post. Sorry. This post is the one for people here in the States, who don't get any work from Guru, pay membership fees, send out 100's of proposals, and score ZERO! And not because people are charging a lot of money either. I think you might want to locate the review post for Indians, who get ALL of the work. Yeah, maybe that's where the actual disscussion about an Indian produced movie, and actors actress is located. Seems you got your channels mixed. Cheers!

I think this movie has some very casual direction by a director or Mani Ratna stature. All in all I dont see anything worthwhile in the movie other than Madhavan and Mithum whose performance is catchy. Otherwise the movie is very poorly made with hopeless acting by Aishwarya and Abhishek (I think people are expecting a lot from Abhishek whereas he has not yet grown to any mature acting stature.)

Scam heaven. Guru employers rush with fake credit cards for work, leave the contractor hagnging when it's tme to get paid. The Guru.com process allows employers to take work before releasing funds. About 80% of Guru work is fraudulently hired or will be unpaid by the time the credit card processes catch up to them. Guru simply sends an email claiming they have notice its was a unauthorized card charge and they're off the hook.

I joined guru as a freelance designer looking for work. My 3 month membership yielded ZERO jobs out of almost 200 proposals. I knew my skills were not lacking as I have tons of agency experience with large national clients and a killer book, so a few small jobs shouldn't be a problem, right? WRONG. I got so frustrated that I posted a fake job (easy to do, which is another problem) to see what my competition was like. I posted a request for a full, CMS driven website with custom graphics. I was stunned to find out how low quotes were. One guy in China quoted me $50. YES, FIFTY DOLLARS! How can anyone compete with that? At guru, there's no distinguishing from low quality and high quality, as they stress that a client choose based upon "client reviews." Too bad most of the clients received poor work, and were clueless of it. How is someone supposed to get work without having client reviews? And how is a quality designer supposed to get reviews without bidding prices that would lead to a life of Ramen noodles? This site is a sham and devalues the industry of professional designers.

Don't freelance on Guru if you are outside the US! I worked as a freelancer for 2 years and they will not pay me a penny of the money I earned! My email to Guru: "I have been trying to withdraw funds for about 2 years now. It says that I have to complete a w-9 in order to withdraw funds. It won't take my address, and it requires a SSN/EIN. How can I withdraw funds since I don't have a US address/SSN/EIN?" Their reply: "I understand that you do not have a SSN or EIN, as you are not a citizen of the United States. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes you, however, we cannot release these funds to you, until we receive a W-9 Form. Thank you, Jeremy Guru.com Team"

I've used all the project sites and Guru is great. Reputable buyers with well paying projects use this site. So, if you're looking for steady freelance work with good companies, this is a great site.

Employers shouldn't waste their time with GURU.com. The pros are not that professional or talented. If you want cheap and professional graphic design go to www.glennasuits.com instead.

I felt like i was bidding for projects that may/may not exist, ie people looking to just see how much professionals charge can post projects here. They need a better way to seperate the jokers from the serious clients.

I wanted to try another coder site other than RAC and Guru looked good to begin with. But as I began posting projects, they issued ridiculous reasons why I could not post them. Their customer service was rude (dare I say "stuck up"?) and they banned my account. Upon making another account and posting non-related projects, the same rude customer support person notified me I was not allowed to post there and banned my second account! VERY unprofessional. DON'T use them... I now recommend RAC - MUCH better!

As a project initiator I have a mixed experience of Guru.com. I would expect Guru to offer similar protections that one would associate with Ebay. In my personal opinion (and those of other members who I have spoken to), you are better off trying a website such as AIIP where you can find information professionals for research.

i recently joined guru without forking over moolah for paid memebership. what happened next was beyond funny. Any project you bring up, is unbiddable.. and i mean any. Call me opinionated, but a website that wants you to plonk cash on the table for nothing delivered is a scam and a con game. Freelance pros be damned, guru needs DA MONEY. i also noticed how a bad review gets prompt attention from a paid grunt about helpfulness.nice PR machine, guru JI who's gonna catch this scam?

This site may have been good a few years ago, but now it is a total waste of time. Wish I could get my money back for my useless membership. Many of the freelance jobs posted are just that, people wanting work done for free or next to nothing.

GURU.COM is a good place to get projects if you are savvy. You can get burned pretty bad because they currently lack good fund escroll and deliverables confirmation/verification procedures once a a project has been completed.

Very organized website. Let's you post or request jobs. It keeps you updated, but won't annoy you everyday. Also, the free guru mug is very good too.

Good clean site. A buddy of mine has gotten a lot of work through this site. Fantastic means of self promotion.
