I looooove amazon. One stop shopping for most everything, free shipping, low prices. My only complaint is that they used to be easier to sell stuff through in the zshops, but I guess because of fraud they locked down some categories. Now they're basically punishing everyone for the problems of few.

I try to avoid buying things online if I can help it, but Amazon.com is decent, and if I need something like an old out of print textbook, Amazon is usually the place I go.

The site is very user-friendly and has an BIG selection of items - it's not like browsing one company's web site and not being able to find a certain item. Amazon pretty much has anything you're looking for and it's very convenient for online shoppers.

By accident I purchased a software item for download that was Windows-only. Amazon doesn't offer downloadable software for the Mac yet. Even though they say that their downloaded items are nonrefundable, I called and they gave me a refund within seconds. Thanks, Amazon!

I've ordered books, music, electronics and more from Amazon.com and have been satisfied with the transaction every time. I like to shop the Amazon site due to the huge amount of products available. I also like the site navigation, it is easy to find what you are looking for. The check-out process has always been simple and has gone smoothly for me everytime.

The one tiny complaint I have is concerning a GPS navigation system I ordered as a gift for hubby this past Christmas. I choose the free SuperSaver shipping and while I wasn't expecting to receive the item fast it took much longer than expected. It was approximately 7 days before they even processed my order and sent a shipment notification email. I think this package could have arrived faster if sent on the back of a pack mule. All together 14-15 days elapsed between when I paid and when I received my order.

When I opened the package the box with the GPS unit inside and the leather case I purchased to go along with it were just banging around inside with no packing materials or bubble wrap or anything. I was pretty worried that something might have jarred loose inside the GPS unit but everything turned out to be okay.

Luckily, all of this worked out okay. It was just a little stressful for awhile worrying if the items were going to arrive in time and if the GPS unit had been damaged in shipping. Overall I am still very happy with this transaction though. The GPS unit was about $100 less from Amazon than most other stores and the shipping was free so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Amazon's third party seller policies leave much to be desired. If the third party seller is not able to fulfill the order, Amazon does not have the capability of helping by canceling the order or contacting the seller. Additionally, their feedback policies do not allow for negative feedback to be left for the seller when an order is not fulfilled.

In summary, I will no longer use them when I need an item in a timely manner.

Amazon was not good to me. They offered me a refund after I reported them to the Better Business Bureau since their payment page is so badly worded about paying through a bank account that it all flopped. Then it took 3 more complaints with the Better Business Bureau to get them to finally send the refund back they promised. Before I contacted the BBB, I called Amazon several times, and the workers there obviously didn't care about my problem and were totally inefficient and lacking the knowledge to solve the problems, which was later acknowledged by Amazon to me after the BBB got involved. Amazon is very inefficient, I hope they get better and don't let their inefficiency continue to zealously send Collectors after people without warning.

I have been buying from Amazon for years, and I have no complaints. They stand by their products. I've been screwed a couple of times by sellers going through Amazon, and everytime, when I got no satisfaction from the seller, Amazon would step in and make everything right. I love buying from them!!!

Have never had a problem with them, great inventory, great delivery. Lots of good features like things that suggest items to you based on what you've already bought from them.

Over the past five yrs, Amazon's been my primary source for CDs, books and DVDs. While well over half the merchandise I've purchased has been used, I've never had a problem with the the condition or receiving an order on time. Also like ria itself, I've found Amazon's customers reviews to be quite helpful and even interesting, particularly when I'm unfamiliar with an artist or writer's work. Great site.

Great selection and prices, and very fast shipping. If they don't have it, you probably can't get it.

Their site is incredibly extensive and well-organized, and their selection is second to none. The only real problem I have is that some of the people who sell stuff on there are unreliable. I remember one time I ordered this book from this dude and never got it. I also never got a refund either. Other than that the site is great.

I think it is an excellent resource and represents the best of the web today. I've purchased books, dvds, computers, grooming products off the site and have always had a good experience, even with their 3rd party vendors

Love Amazon.com. Huge selection, and always less than other sites. Only real complaint is the inability to see an independent seller's total S&H costs prior to getting through the whole check-out procedure. Just made a purchase on an item that cost $26 + $12 to ship (and it weighed less than 8 oz.!) Seems many private vendors are following the "E-bay Loophole" of jacking up S&H to get around paying site-commissions. If Amazon.com provided seller's S&H info before getting through most of the purchasing process, it'd save users a lot of time and frustration.

Overall very good. And the Prime program is excellent. But they lack in customer service when unusual, but easy, requests are made. For example, they cannot shift a ship date by a couple of days to avoid delivery when the recipient is out of town. Their solution is to cancel the order and place it again, which would still not guarantee an acceptable delivery date. (Note this relates to pre-orders and to orders which are still in the first stage of acceptance.)

I don't know about these guys anymore, they seem to be to big for their own good. Last Christmas I ordered stuff to send to my family (3 weeks early) and it was all received by my family sometime in January. When I try to figure out how to get ahold of them, it's not easy to find a number on the site. Then instead of any sort of apology all I get is it was overlooked that was when I swore it was the last time I'd be dealing with these people.The website is generally good for information but I don't buy from them anymore.

Excellent website to shop at, but don't believe the book reviews. They have deleted 2 of my negative reviews. What a shifty practice. That alone would stop me from buying there if I had to. Amazon is in collusion with its book suppliers to rig reviews.

Usually, Amazon.com is a great site for both browsing and buying. The only thing to watch out for is free SuperSaver shipping...it's easy to assume, Well, they just use the slowest shipping method and I'll definitely have it within two weeks. I suspect they also de-prioritize fulfillment of your order (the step before shipping) and this is what can get you, possibly leading to delays of several weeks or more on a popular item. HINT: If you're having problems with any Amazon.com order, use Google to find their top-secret 800 number.

I enjoy shopping there. The service is great and the packages come on time. ... Problem is that I ordered a DVD on December 6. I used money order. I haven't gotten an announcement when my shipment is coming. UPS still hasn't delivered my package. What happened?

Amazon.com is a great, user friendly site. they're really going to start booming now that they've teamed up with that new site www.spotya.com that has that new payment method. I look forard to seeing how that developes in the future

Wide variety of items, usually with a detailed description of the product itself. I've very rarely had a shipping problem with them because of its reliablility. Bottom line- the site is very user friendly, quick and easy!

I only purchase from this site and so far, it's been great. Shipping is quick, they have a great variety of items to choose from, and the prices are great since it chooses for you the merchants.

Amazon.com has always been very reliable and prompt with it's delivery's. There are a wide variety of products to purchase from, and best of all, their discounts really save you a lot of money.

What can I say about Amazon that hasn't already been said, it's a brilliantly and smoothly run site brimming with information about literally any product on that market. Not only do I use Amazon to buy things, but I often look up reviews on products, whether it's books, cds, or a toaster, and it's unbelievably helpful. Amazon is the reigning King (or Queen?) of shopping sites, and rightly so.

I have no service quibbles about Amazon.com whatsoever. Their website search tools are easy to navigate, their selection of endless rare and recent DVD's, CD's, books etc is pretty much outstanding and almost credible when I compare it to other major shopping sites. I've been very fortunate not to have any major outstanding problems and only my fair share by not recieving an item thats been lost in the post only for it to be swiftly replaced for free or having a problem with someone at marketplace whose tried to rip me off and amazon have been nothing but curteous and quick to rectify this problem by actually crediting my account and giving me my money back. I'm been an avid spender at amazon for two years and I have nothing but praise for their outstanding products and customer services.

THE BEST shopping website. I can go on and on and on about how GREAt amazon is. CHEAP stuff because you can get stuff used i have gotten stuff for 2 dollars and that included s&H i love amazon. I placed an order for a blue topaz pendant with Amazon.com's 3rd party merchant service on March 3rd, 2004. The charge posted to my account on the 4th. The Amazon.com website indicates that my order has shipped, and that I would receive it March 10th through March 16th. The 3rd party merchant is PalmBeachJewelry.com . Today March 16th, I had not received my order yet, and had not heard from anyone regarding my order status, so I contacted Palm Beach Jewelry (Cynthia in customer service) to get a status (it is required by Amazon to contact the merchant direct). They informed me that the item had not shipped yet, that it backordered on the 3rd, and I should not expect it to ship until the 23rd of March. I requested to cancel this order from them, and they (Palm Beach Jewelry), indicated that they could not cancel my order, because it had been billed through Amazon.com, and that I needed to cancel it through Amazon.com. I then contacted an Amazon.com rep, and explained to them exactly what I was told by Palm Beach Jewelry. The Amazon.com rep asked me if I wished her to contact Palm Beach on my behalf, and I requested that she do so. When she returned back on the line with me, she told me that she had spoken with Cynthia from Palm Beach jewelry, the woman I spoke with, and Cynthia told her that she told me, that they were trying to resolve the matter for me through their central office. When I told this rep, that Cynthia did not tell me this, that they insisted that I have to deal with it with Amazon.com, the Customer service rep told me she doubted this, and then she hung up on me. I contacted Cynthia with Palm beach jewelry again, who told me she would fax a copy of my cancellation request to their front office. I am currently waiting on a resolution to the issue. It seems to me, that neither Amazon nor their 3rd party wish to resolve a cancellation request once an order has been placed. There have been a number of customer service miscues here, and this issue still has not been resolved for me.

I'd give 'em three-and-a-half. They usually have what I want--not always, but usually--and they have been prompt and accurate for me. That said, their search feature is a DISASTER. Navigate to something you exactly want, and then try to nail the same item using search--I have not been able to do this, since the damn search engine brings you TOP SELLERS which approximate your search criteria, rather than exact matches. I was appalled to discover this. Maybe by the time I write this it will have changed, but don't count on it. Still, I have to buy from them because we don't have a decent non-pop record store in my town.

Highly reliable. Exhaustive inventory of books and a lot of other stuff. Free shipping if you spend (a mere) $25. Prices normally very good, sometimes ridiculously low. Offering to sell new and used good though an outside dealer was a stroke of genius. If I could take 1/4 point off I would do it because their search too isn't very selective enough, you might find anything close to what you searched for, and sometimes it isn't even close. But it's a relatively small price to pay for an outstanding place to shop.

I have shopped countless times on Amazon.com and absolutely LOVED this site. What’s even better is they not only have what you are looking for at a great price, but they ship fast too!

Amazon is where I can find any book I want at the lowest price possible. They have price ranges from the highest price in stock to the lowest. You can choose the one that suits your budget. Recently, I founnd the perfect book to give as a gift at a store. The price was $36.00, since I didn't have the money on me, I was prepared to go back in a week or so. But then I checked Amazon - once again they impressed me. The same exact book, brand new $24.00! It was shipped out the next day and arrived in perfect condition.

I've had great luck with Amazon. Some have complained about shipping times, but I have had no problems. Maybe I'm more patient, haha. Their selection is outstanding and Amazon carries most of the hard-to-find items I'm looking for.

Don't bother pre-ordering items. I pre-ordered an item that was released on 4/15 and still have not received it as of 4/22 even though the shipping I chose was supposed to get it to me by 4/21. I do a lot of shipping with USPS and have sent packages coast to coast first-class faster than this item has taken to get from Delaware to Mass. I don't remember checking "carrier pigeon" on the shipping option... If there is an item (i.e. DVD, CD etc...) that you have been waiting for to be released, get it at Best Buy or one of those stores the day it is released; it'll be a classic by the time it arrives from Amazon. I give 3 stars instead of 2 based solely on their selection.

Incredible selection but you can find better deals elsewhere if you are willing to search for them. My first two orders arrived reasonably fast, but I've placed a recent order and even though they said it would be shipped within 48 hours, here it is two weeks later and I still haven't gotten it. I checked the website, and according to my account information, it still hasn't even been shipped. I'm beginning to lose confidence in them.

I have ordered several books, videotapes, dvds, and toys from Amazon.com and I am impressed with their services. The items usually arrive as quick as they could, their offers are great, and they have an excellent selection. Good low prices also!

Amazon is the best shopping site I have found. The review feature is excellent. They often have shipping specials that are convenient...and their rebates on certain electronic items are great. I like being able to see my account and track shipping information, rate products, etc.

Spend over 9 months trying to collect from them as a seller, great for the customer lowsy for the sellers. Just constant empty promises that they will transfer funds within 5 days and 9 months later no transfer.

My family and my parent's job constantly order videos and books! We(they) are always very pleased with what they get. My Parent's work had bought over 20 videos and save over 100.00 in shipping! There products NEVER came damaged! Use amazon its like the best!

So far we have been very pleased with the service we get with Amazon.com. We have ordered,books, and computer games so far. They are effecient in sending them out. They even have a tracking number where you can see where the package is at. we especially like the tracking number since we can see what day the package will be coming. I would reccomend this service to someone.

Every time I have used Amazon.com, I have gotten fast delivery (two to three days) and the ordering process is fairly simple. They also have a wide variety of items to pick from. Anyways, it's an all-around good store with nice service.

Amazon is a nice little community. I enjoy looking around, and putting reviews on movies and music. I enjoy shopping there, even though the guy totally ripped me off, and the tape came broke and I wanted to sue him for every penny he's worth, it's still a good site.

Amazon was my introduction to e-shopping three years ago and I have absolutely no complaints about them. They continually update and increase their services and offer great customer support. Their website is well designed and shopping instructions are very easy to follow. They also keep you constantly updated via email as to the progress of your order. It sure beats a mall sales clerk with an I-don't-know-I-don't-care-and-I'm-too-good-to-be-working-here-anyway attitude.

Quick and easy and so far no mistakes. I really only use it for things I can't find locally and would have to wait for on order anyway. Otherwise I try and buy from the shops partially to feel like I'm supporting the little guys and partially, okay mostly, because I'm an instant gratification kind of guy. For the stuff I can't get downtown though Amazon always comes through... That was then..this is now 01/21/01... I've been using Amazon a lot more recently and I'm now even more pleased than I was in the past. Here's the thing, at the time of that last message I really had only used it a couple of times and essentially just for books, well all of that has changed. Since then I've received a compound mitre saw through them, a toaster, an electric shaver and a blender. I have to admit that even though I knew Amazon has been steadily expanding the number and types of things they offer, I had no idea that you could even buy things like power tools and kitchen appliances through them. This truly is a great site and often for really big things (like a power saw) the shipping is free which does away with the arguement that even if you saved money by buying it on line, you were going to end up paying the same if not more than you would in a store because of the shipping costs. Furthermore, the reviews are helpful in helping to decided what to purchase and after searching through many different sites I found that by far most of the time Amazon had the best prices, by far. Barring some huge screw up, I plan to be a long time customer.

Amazon.com carries pretty much any book, cd, electronic, DVD, VHS. They explain the shopping process step by step making shopping easy for the buyer. Delivery is prompt and returns are easy.

This web site has it all for those that are lazy and love to shop the web. Looking for that hard to find CD, definitely go here cause they carry most obscure albums at 20% off. Fast and friendly, Amazon.com also carries textbooks for those students who refuse to give their money to the man! Rock on Amazon!
