This is such a great idea and I have tried to purchase a ticket through Priceline, although they weren't able to match my price so I passed, but for some reason I've never gone back. I think the thing is that it could be great if you are totally flexible and I guess there is a certain market for that but I've found that I can usually still find very reasonably priced tickets elsewhere for just a little bit more and still travel according to my own schedule. Cheap fares are great but somewhere along the way you reach a point where you just want what you want and being that there are so many resources for cheap fares you can usually get what you want for, like I said, not a whole lot more than you might through Priceline.

Overall not too bad. The only problem is with airline tickets. It's not as easy as it sounds, many restrictions. Besides that I've gotten hotels, books, and even movies at prices I wanted to play.

This site allows me to compare prices with products. I can just sit in front of my computer and shop, instead of wasting gas and driving to different stores and malls. I can also see products from all around the world.

Excellent stuff. Headache of price comparisons taken care by the site. Provides excellent prices at times. Real cool site.

I brought a gas card from them before. They have good prices. I saved thousands of dollars from this website.

The biggest rip-off I have ever encountered. They issued me tickets for dates I had not entered. When I called the 800 service number I was on hold for almost a half hour. The first person I talked to said that the problem was pricelines falt because their computors had malfunctioned but that the problem couldn't be fixed at the moment because of system failure. I was told to call back later. When I did they denied ever having problems and that I would be charged for the tickets. I'm so disgusted with this experiance I doubt I will ever try any other internet based companies.

Priceline is tremendous. I only began to use it recently for flights and it is the best way to get low fares (for example, I got a flight from SF to NYC for a bid of $200). It is also simple to use. You submit a bid, they tell you the chance that it will be accepted, you can then either change it or leave it the same, and they get back to you within an hour to let you know if you have matched with an airline. You definitely need to be flexible in terms of traveling times because you can only pick the date of travel. That inconvenience, however, is worth it if it saves you hundreds of dollars. The only other negative is that you don't get any frequent flyer miles for any of the flights. I just got my gas card in the mail and I'm anxious to see how well it works.

I really like the idea of this site, although I've never actually completed a purchase. The both times I tried to use it, they got back to me within about fifteen minutes with a quote, but my bid price was too low and I ended up purchasing elsewhere. Still though, it was very easy to use and I'll definetly use them again.

I think Priceline.com is a great idea. I acutally just used it for the first time since it didn't matter the times I arrived or departed. It is great. The customer service was fantastic. I heard back from priceline.com within a couple of hours. The only thing that is annoying is not being able to choose what times you go and you have to put in your credit card not knowing what times you'll get but if it is a really cheap ticket, it is worth it. When you have the freedom, it is great. It works for my dad who is retired. It is great for college students.

I like this site because you get GREAT deals on airfare. However, it is definately frustrating when you get horrible flight times that can have hours and hours of multiple lay overs.

Priceline is based on a fantastic concept - letting consumers name their own price for products and services. And, in the right circumstances, this site can be very, very helpful. The best time to use Priceline is when you need to buy a plane ticket on short notice. If you're looking for a ticket months in advance, you're probably not going to score a great deal. But if you need to travel tomorrow, and the lowest price Expedia can find for you is $2,000, then Priceline can be a dream come true. If it's the day before a flight and the airline hasn't sold it out yet, they might as well let you have it for a rock-bottom price. I'm not sold on the idea of buying gas through Priceline, but I definitely think it's a great service for plane tickets and hotel rooms.

The most attractive thing on Priceline.com is bidding wars. There was once a Pink Box that was selling for $137 and still 8 days to bid. Priceline.com offers a wide variety of products but still doesn't advertise as strongly as other websites.

They make it sound like the deals are so great--name your price--but I have never gotten my price. However I constantly recieve a steady stream of free magazines due to their bonuses.

The deals i got on hotel and airfare were simply unimagenable.

The two times I used this service I got a price $150 less than any fare I could find anywhere else on the net ($200 new york to san fran, direct; best I saw elsewhere was $350), and it was fast and easy. I maybe I got lucky, and maybe I could have saved even more, but it was cheaper than any other option I had.

AAAAARRRRGGGGHH!!! What's wrong with $150- for a ticket from NY to Baltimore??? I think that's acceptable..And then I can't go back and go higher, because I've already used the highest amount of stupid bonus dollars or whatever they're called by applying for the Discover Platinum card. Then again..AWESOME fare for going cross-country ....Love 'em AND Hate 'em I guess!
magellan 11/22/1999
I admit this is a cool, possibly revolutionary, idea. The problem is that I never get my damn fare - I mean NEVER. I am something like 0 for six, and to be honest, I just don't feel like taking the time to go through the whole process anymore. Furthermore, I know myself, and if I ever did get my fare, I'm sure I would be stressed out that I had bid too much, thereby leaving money on the table.

That's my favourite site which I often use to get the best available price.
