I have a Dell Inspiron. Dell's notebooks are a great deal moneywise. The Inspirons are affordable and have the best warranty. The 3-year warranty is the thing that made me choose Dell over Sony.

It runs great when running basic programs like Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, and Winamp, but when it comes to playing games such as Starcraft and other games, it is slow and lagging. Only recommended if used for work and not play.

Really powerful machine for a notebook. The company is very good about customer support and giving access to online information and support.

I have a Dell Inspiron 7000 that I use everyday at work. I plug it into the Port Replicator II and use it as my desktop and also take it on travel with me. The Dell is a bit heavy but that is expected with the floppy and CD-ROM built in. It makes a very good desk top and is powerful enough to take care of anything I might need. We are in the process of purchasing new Dells, I will get a new 7500 series when they come in.

I have had all kinds of problems with my Inspiron 7000. In June of '99 I bought a $3800 dollar system which included the notebook, a combination printer / scanner / fax, a port replicator, and a monitor. Since then I have had problems with the computer freezing up on me constantly, all of the icons on my desktop turned black making it difficult to read the folders, and the backlight on the notebook has gone out making it impossible for me to use my notebook without the monitor (which kind of defeats the purpose of having a notebook). In order for me to get it fixed, I would have to ship it to Dallas (a real pain), and then do without my computer for 7-10 business days. All in all this machine has turned out to be a (very expensive) piece of garbage.

My Inspiron has been very reliable and durable. I've had no major problems. The hardware-software integration by Dell is superb and I am extremely pleased with the systems self-care feature(energy saving, temp control, virus software, etc.) Very good system.

This Dell Notebook is terrific. I bought one two years ago. I had done many bad things to it like spilling coffee on it, burning it with a match (by accident), and dropping it. It still works well. My next computer will be Dell.

I got my 3700 with 433 Celeron processor in Nov. 99 and was instantly impressed with the package. Hot swap bay for floppy or CD-rom and S-video out. Over the last two years I have used Toshibas.Acers, TI's and Compaqs and this Dell surpasses them all in quality and after sales support. WAY TO GO DELL! BUY A DELL!! You won't be sorry.

The new Dell 7500 series allows you to have a notebook with the same power as a powerful desktop. It comes standard with 15 inch screen, a 500 MH Pentium III processor, 64 megs of memory and a 4.8 GB hard drive. Upgrading memory/speed etc is simple but can get costly. Overall the price is a bit steep, but it is the king of notebooks according to PC magazine.

I got a 3500 before coming to college, and I love it. It works well with the college network and supports everything I want to do.

3200 series is good. But battery life is poor and it does freeze in sleep mode.

Difficult ot use in coach section of an airplane because of large screen. Power management system is weak and often does not come out of sleep mode. Machine stays on when you close cover.

The big screen is great for small group presentations. Support has been very good.

I like Dell Inspirion Series because they are compatible with mostly everything and they are quick and powerful for a notebook.

I bought my Inspiron 7000 in June, and I love it. It has a large screen, is fast, but is a little heavy. I recommend it.

I own one. It is the best computer I have had. No problem, good price, and great support. Dell is the best, hands down.

Dell laptop computers are far superior to the others in the market. Dont ever think of getting a UMAX.
