 | Ridgewalker (48) 05/07/2008 | May's a pretty good month. Weather's getting good, I have my birthday here in a couple of weeks and tomorrow is Randyman's birthday, so we're all gonna meet between noon and 6pm (RIA time) at the Types of Sandwiches list and pig out...

 | uncnc08 (43) 03/07/2008 | If you live down south or the mid atlantic states this is the last month before humidity comes for the summer.busy month of school because of finals and saying boodbye to friends that are graduating.it's kind of sad too.

 | cablejockey (18) 11/18/2007 | Spring is really here and the air has that soft spring smell. The leaves are a shade of green not to be seen again til next May. Gardening can seriously start where I live and with the long days, you can get to work in your yard. Mothers Day and Victoria Day come in this month too.

 | GenghisTheHun (168) 11/17/2007 | This is about the best month of the year if you live in the North. Things are really growing and life is at its most vigorous. I can hardly wait.

 | caphillsea77 (29) 10/21/2007 | I love May, the foliage is back, full and green and it seems everything has come back to life. Time to open the windows and let some air in, shed the coats and get outdoors again. Summer is just around the corner and it seems everyday gets better and better.

 | jackbauer91 (0) 01/30/2007 | MAY SUCKS! Up in Boston the entire month is rain and cold. The sun may come out every few weeks. Forget the "average" temperatures near 70, expect 50s in Boston.

 | blue47 (12) 01/16/2007 | Probaby the best time to come to Memphis. The weather is nice and there is "Memphis in May." Each year the city reconizes a country to honor.

 | Wavebacker (25) 01/16/2006 | One of the best month's of the year. Summer is coming and you begin to feel it with the weather. Mother's Day , The Kentucky Derby, Memorial Day, NBA and NHL Playoffs and Baseball season all take place in May. I was born in May so it's gotta be great.

 | Randyman (103) 02/23/2005 | What's not to like about May. The weather is fantastic. You have Mother's Day. My Mother was born on May 2, My oldest daughter was born May 20 and I was born May 8. The downside? My father passed away May 7, 1981 the day before my birthday. So it's kind of a bittersweet month for me.

 | Alexg681 (1) 01/12/2005 | May is very good. Not as rainy as April and there are some nice weather days since it's not too hot. When I was in school I got out in June, but when May came I could see that the end was near. Very good sports month. Important games in the NBA and NHL playoffs.

 | Seraph (8) 09/28/2004 | May is the month when Texas kids are released for summer break. There's that moment where the final bell rings on the final day, and you realize that you have two months of endless Saturdays seize. Words don't do it justice. You can taste freedom in the air and you feel like dancing in the streets.

 | Blanco~Nino (0) 08/29/2004 | I love may, and it's not just because My birthday is in that fabulous month. May is not too, hot, or too cold. It's when all the little buds and flowers start to grow, and the air always smells great. A beautiful time of year when the miracle of life can be experienced.

 | CherrySoda99 (29) 03/31/2004 | May's a really nice month. It's not too hot, not too cold. No snow, usually (hopefully) and the air smells like spring. Which smells really nice.

 | VirileVagabond (32) 02/26/2004 | One can't go too wrong in the merry month of May. School is coming to a close (if memory serves), the weather is warm enough for thoughts to wander towards the beach, the plants are lush and vivid without the rains of April, outdoor barbeques to feed hungry guests, and Memorial Day to mark the official start of summer. Nevertheless, superstition warns against getting married in May (go figure). Finally, according to most historians, the month is named after the upper house of the Roman Senate, Majores or Maiores.

 | irishgit (138) 02/22/2004 | The gentlest of months, with the full passion of spring unfolded and the promise of summer to come. A fine time for travel, or simply loafing.

 | Redoedo (39) 03/08/2003 | A month that claims fame because of Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and for many, the end of the school year. The weather is warming up more than ever, and trees boast green leaves.

 | BIGBABY (10) 02/07/2003 | May is a long month. The only day out of school is Memorial Day, which is the last day of May. Summer is coming, which cheers me up. I wish they would get rid of these stupid state tests. We have the MCAS here. It has no point at all, and it takes place during May.

 | lukskywlkr. (3) 12/05/2002 | May is awesome. My favorite singer was born in May, school always let out in May (when I was still going), all the Star Wars movies were released in May, and my favorite cousin was born in May.

 | john davies (2) 02/06/2002 | Sometimes life really does feel like heaven on earth. The freshness, the vivid greenery.Still "full of the joys of spring",and the early summer warmth seeping into your bones. All the better, for the winter now behind(a time to fully appreciate having 4 seasons!),the days still getting longer, and all the summer to come. The birds in hearty song, the orchards coming into full bloom, the young animals still frolicking, the meadows filling with wild flowers, ready for the lazy hot days ahead. The woodland bluebells. Our floppy-eared rabbit bouncing merrily. The cherry blossom. The butterflies, the returning swallows. My wife's birthday, and here in Britain 2 public holidays.Things really don't come much better.

 | CastleBee (81) 08/02/2001 | May is usually a month you can count on to be fairly mild, a little drizzly but mostly very pleasant in many areas of the US. Where I live, May is the month when you start to think seriously about gardening and lawn care issues. Mother's Day, Memorial Day and the Indianapolis 500 Race all happen in May. Many schools also let out in May and ecstatic smiles can be seen on the faces of newly liberated children as well as teachers who are more than ready to take a breather. The woods, with their new leaves, sprouting grass and wildflowers still retain the soft pastel tints that began in April. Kittens and new lambs are born at the same time tornados become a nightmarish threat. Overall, May is a month of new birth - fairly gentle, but not without some very dazzling contrasts.

 | Janey_Lane (0) 08/02/2001 | Oh May, the first sign that we're inching our way closer and closer to summer. May with its ticks, awaken from their slumber and ready to attack, pollen (mainly birch) flowing through the air causing coughing fits, breathing difficulties, itching eyes, runny noses and an unpleasent sun warming up with each passing day. Most of May I don't put my foot out the door unless it's an absolute necessity.
