September is the best month, weatherwise in the northeast, although the nights tend to get a little cooler than comfort toward the tail end.

After Labor Day I get a little melencholy as summer comes to an end but I can not deny that some of the years nicest weather is in September. Warm days and cool nights, bugs are gone, tourists go home and it seems a lot of new beginnings happen for me this time of year. I appreciate September.

Another terrible month weatherwise in South FL. Storms, hurricanes, hot and humid--YUK!! Only good thing is that football season starts!

Never cared for Sept while in school being the end of summer vacation. The temperature is nice especially in the evening.

September is beautiful adn nostalgic. The colors of the autumn trees are breathtaking, and you can't beat the cool crisp smell in the air. The sunsets are amazing and it's still warm enough to enjoy early morning or evening walks.

Mixed feelings. It stunk when I went to school. But it's a very good sports month. NFL and college football start! Also, some important baseball games.

I give September four stars because it's the month of my birthday. Besides that, there's no fun to be had.

Summer is over, but at least after months of repeats, the fall TV season begins.

I love september because the fall is my favorite season and thats when the leaves change and there are all of the pretty colors of orange, and brown. i dont really like the summer because its too hot, and the winter is too cold but, in september the weather is perfect. its not too hot or cold, or windy.

I can't say I'm all that found of September. School has to start, and you know summer is over. It's still ok, but not one of my favorites.

September is a blah month for me. Summer is over, the excitement of a new school year has faded to the day to day grind, and there is no crisp, cool weather that comes with October. On the plus side, football is in full swing, new television shows hit the schedule, and Labor Day provides a long weekend to end the summer. September gets its name from the Latin septem meaning seven as September was orginally the seventh month of the Roman calendar until August and July were subsequently added.

Probably my favourite month, the hard contrasts of summer blending into fall. To me it always seems one of the months of beginning, and I always feel productive then. A good time for new projects.

Tourists start to leave; most of the bad drivers go away; school starts (including continuing ed for nutcases like me); beautiful clouds, warm afternoons, buttery sunlight, sages in bloom, dry land breezes begin.

September is the best month, not too hot and not too cold yet. For some undefinable reason, I feel emotionally centred in the fall, and depressed in the spring. The summers and winters have their virtues and their drawbacks, but autumn, especially Sept. and Oct. makes me feel the most alive.

(No, I don't particularly like one month over another, but this is a generalization. You can find beauty in any month, if you have the patience to find it). September, aside from being the month with my birthday, kind of is a transitional month. When I was in school, it was kind of the time to start over, like a New Year, and it sparked reunions with old friends that you didn't get to see all summer. It's typically still warm in the beginning, and it's awesome to see the trees start from a vibrant lively green to orange and red and yellow, all with the lingering bright blue sky and fluffly clouds. Then, you've got the mixture of the warm sun and the slight chill of the wind--it sounds odd, but it feels nice.

A month in which the leaves begin to change colors and school starts, which for me at least, is relief to a summer which seemed to have no end. Labor Day at the beginning of the month is also good as a day off of school.

I love September. It just starts to cool down a bit, but is warm enough to go outdoors. I love the changing of the leaves.

Perhaps I'm partial since my birthday is in September, but at least by Sept, the hot weather is over with in most of the country and it isn't too cold yet. It's still fall, with a nice crispness in the air and the trees start to change color. Sure, kids may not like it because it's when they go back to school, but who cares? It's still a cool month!

I used to love September with the leaves beginning to change colors and apples becoming almost ripe enough to pick and school starting again, but thanks to the terrorists who had the nerve to try to terrorize the United States, I don't like September any more.

By the time September rolls around, for all intents and purposes, summer is history and it's back to that repressive classroom environment! Well, for some time now you could scratch that last part for me - but the somewhat claustrophobic memories still linger. Once upon a time, long ago this month did have one consolation to the returning student. Aside from being the time to break out your new school supplies (whoopee!), it was also the month when the new TV shows made their debut. Not much I know, but at least something to look forward to other than a new locker combination. Now, of course, the new fall lineup seems to be so sporadic and unpredictable it just appears whenever the wind blows a certain direction. I no longer really care anyway. These days the weather has a lot to do with my potential enjoyment of this month (isn't it weird how weather becomes more and more of an issue as you grow older - next thing you know I'll be staring at the Weather Channel 3-5 hours a day!) But, speaking of the weather - September generally seems to be a situation of being stuck in limbo between changes. It usually starts out hot, can change to either warm, cool, rainy or what have you and usually does all of the above off and on all month. A potentially good month in most ways, but, one in which the closing of most pools on or about labor day - whether it is warm or cold - somehow symbolizes the sense of sadness for being forced to move away from summer days - ready or not.
