I'm on every once in a while, but overall it has been quite an unfriendly site towards newer and younger users, my younger brother for example posted below, who is being picked on a lot for who know's what by the people that really get into it.

I found RateItAll when searching the Internet for a ranking of military leaders. From there it did not take long to discover the site's concept, ease of registration, and entertainment value. From reading the other comments, one can easily tell that the management here is reactive to suggestions for improvements (eg personal messages and user weblists) and additional lists and items. RateItAll is clearly not a site that has been orphaned by its creators resulting in a dynamic environment. Humans seem drawn towards lists, such as the Top 40 in music, the top 25 in college athletics, or perhaps the original list of the seven ancient wonders of the world (the latter being one of my personal weblists). Moreover, the site is different and refreshing in that it does not use threads or chat rooms (which should result in less confrontation) choosing instead a format of a single, nutshell review or opinion by lay people. Finally, the management here has successfully organized this site in an intuitive and logical fashion. I only wish I had thought of the idea first.

I love posting at Rateitall and giving an opinion about everything and reading other people's opinion without being censored like some sites, it's fun, entertaining and sometimes a learning experience. However, I feel that some people take this site wayyyyy too seriously and sometimes theres a huge disrespect from other reviewers if they dare to disagree with you, which I think is just plain sad. Fair enough I don't agree with some reviewers and I'm certainly not going to single someone out and waste my time writing about them. It's an opinion network not the gospel, sometimes reviewers forget to just have fun without getting political over tedious subjects like soft drinks or cartoons.

I found RATEITALL while looking for something else. I really enjoyed this site and put it in my favorite file. I think in is a lot of fun rating all kinds of categories. I also enjoy reading what other posters have to say. I would recommend this site to others. I have found this site fun and helpful.

Rate-It-All is one of the best websites on the internet to get a good indicator of public opinion on a very wide range of topics. The success and intense growth of the site can be attributed to its simplicity. RIA's management team has been able to make the site easy and navigable. Free expression of ideas is encouraged here, making it very dynamic. These factors make Rate-It-All the top opinion based service on the internet.

I love rateitall! Any forum where one can freely express his or her opinions on many topics is tops in my book!

Now that I have been off the team for RIA for a while, I feel I can rate it honestly. I truly enjoyed working on the RIA project and leading the original development team. The guys had a really good concept, which I think is reflected in how long this site has been running and GROWING. A lot of effort was put into make the site EASY to use, and enjoyable to visit. I am disappointed with how many ad spots now appear on the formerly pristine pages, but hey, you have to make money to keep a site like this running. All-in-all, I still believe RIA is the easiest opinion sharing service on the web, both as a portal site, and with the ratings network used by other web based companies.

I discovered this site quite by accident and I love it. Rating and writing reviews on products, servies, tv shows, movies, fun stuff, etc is so much fun. I enjoy reading other people's reviews. I've learned some things and I've gotten some laughs. Great website with some very talented writers.

It's fun to have a place where I can say what I really think, and damn the consequences. There are smart people here, as well as the other kind; there are open-minded people here, as well as the other kind; and you know what--they're all fun to read.

Rateitall is in my top 3 favorite websites. I love doing reviews and getting to talk to other great people on this website. I would be really bored without rateitall...

A truly original idea but it's rather difficult to find what I want. Unfortunately there are alot of idiots that like to hang around here that fail to get their point across or even attempt to make one. There isn't much that can be done about it so I try not to let it bother me.

I obviously think this is a good site, otherwise I wouldn't be here. It's always interesting to read conflicting arguments and opinions. I also think RIA does a pretty good job of providing a tremendous range of things to rate that is constantly growing and updating. Overall, I'm definitely glad this site exists.

I think that the fact that I am posting here today and that I have posted nearly 1,000 posts to date tells you what I think of this site. This site is extremely fun and once I start posting, I just cannot stop. There's so many things to rate, and they're always coming up with new things. Of course, we all have been the brunt of the prankster who has nothing better to do than click "not helpful" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and to spoil everyone else's fun. I just hope that we can all learn to ignore these losers and continue to post on this site that we all love so much.

My brother Errol talked me into getting involved with RateItAll. I'd resisted it for a while, thinking it would be a dull waste of time. Not so - I'm having a ball expressing my opinions and reading those of others. One day I may just print out everything I've written and put it in a notebook, as a personal collection of philosophies or something. I'm also enjoying meeting anonymous people on this site. Most I hear from are really interesting. Meanwhile, my little brother Errol died very suddenly last year, not long after he got me involved with RateItAll. He must be smiling down from Heaven, seeing me spend time here, when I had previously avoided this site.

Humans have an inate desire to organize and categorize everything and I think that's half the allure of this site. Rating things and making lists makes everything seem mentally cleaner and for people who rate often, we have an ongoing on-line journal to refer back to as well. I also like how people let lose here since everyone is faceless and anonymous- real opinions without prejudices pour out, for good or bad! It's also fun to debate issues with other raters or just sit back and watch what's going on. Most people are really nice here, once you reach out to them. There will always be a few bad apples who only want to get confrontational and expose their mental issues (not to mention the not helpful noid) but for the most part, this is good clean fun.

Rate It All is a great site. There are so many topics and points of view. Keep it just the way it is. Don't change a thing. The "message board" and "chat room" ideas don't belong on this site. People can go to hundreds of other places for that.

Ever since i found this site i love it! I like how i am able to voice my opinion and it's really neat how it's all tallied up and everything

The concept of this website is good; to allow for people to speak their minds about products, services, and other things, so other people who might need some infomation about a specific product may consider other people's experiences before purchasing said product. It also allows for debate over heated topics. It's also good to see reasons for why people disagree with what I believe, and what other people who agree with my opinions have to add. At its best, it's an intellectual conversation. It would be a lot better if some people would be a little more articulate and educated than "it sux" or "i don't like this singer, she's fat". I think it's also detrimental when people rate products when they haven't even used the product. How does one rate an album by saying "it sux, i hate this band, they're lame"? Seeing people disrespect others based solely race, religion, gender, and sexual preference is difficult to handle; their opinions are their own, and has a right to be voiced, but it would help to list a legitamate reason WHY. Overall, I'm glad that there is a platform which allows for debate.

I'm glad I am registered with RateItAll! This gives me a chance to not only see other people's thoughts on hundreds of topics, but to contribute some of my own. I find it a great pleasure to share my thoughts, even though I know some people do not (and will not) like some of the things I say. Any person who rates things on this site knows that there will be some who will greatly appreciate his/her comments, and some who will be offended by them. I strive to post unbiased comments. I certainly don't aim to offend anyone; all I want to do is give others a little food for thought to chew on by sharing some of my feelings and experiences along with some of my opinions, with the hope that these comments are potentially beneficial to as many people as possible.

I like good honest humor. Jay Leno should fire his writers. First of all he started out as an Actor, then gravitated to comedy. He is only as good as his writers.....and they are getting bad. He personally could not stand up to the ridicule that he gives others. If he gets someone on as a guest that he has put down, he smoozes them over, and in my book that is hypocrital. I am very,very,very confident that if someone that he has put down over a period of time requested a guest slot...they would be refused, simply because he would look bad. JackR1

I think Rate it All is a good tool for everyone. A place where you can voice your opinion to the public. I really like the wide variety of categories and topics to choose from. As I'm reading through the various opinions, I really can't disagree with any of them, after all they are opinions, not facts. A lot of the opinions are helpful...in fact, before I try a new product, I'll be sure to check this site to see what others had to say about it. One thing that bothers me is the comments that have negative racial undertones. These type of comments have no room here (or anywhere else) and are a waste of time and space. I am so done with hearing and reading negative remarks about race, ethnicity, color, etc. - get over it. After all, if we all looked the same, what a boring world this would be.

What other website provides me with information about ANYTHING whenever I need it and with the opportunity to rave or rant about ANYTHING whenever I want to... I love RateItAll. On word of caution, though: this website is addictive...

RateItAll just shows you that so many people have opinions on their mind, but can't express it in the public. I've been visiting this site almost every day since I first discovered it, reading many interesting and funny opinions. I've recently started to join in on the fun here, which was early today. Looks like I'll be posting opinions here for a long time to come.

I like to be able to vent my opinions and frustrations on a site where I they'll be read and hopefully some will agree with them. The only drawback is that some people can vote on your opinions without telling you why. They may not like one opinion, and so they can go to all your other opinions and put a negative on them too without really giving them a chance.

this is a fun site to review things that you hate, like, etc. If you're not sure about, for example, a book you might read, you can look it up on the site and see how others liked it. if everyone hated it, maybe you'd then decide to skip the book...This a great site if you just need to argue against the public opinion or if you just want to let others know about how you feel about something! once you start rating, you just can't stop because there is so much to rate!

I'm a relative newcomer but given that i'm perusing and contributing to the site a great deal at present, i can hardly give it less than 5 stars(which i presume is a commonly shared thought.)I love the diversity of interests covered,and as i've always enjoyed lists and ratings,as well as (a little egotistically?)publicising my opinions and personal favourites,this seems pretty ideal.I only hope i don't get too addicted and start neglecting life outside-but for the moment,in wild and wet Winter weather,it seems a great way to pass the time and learn from other users.Best wishes to all.

Finally a site where ordinary people are allowed to voice there opinions on anything and everything. It isn't critics or manufactures who create these ratings, it is ordinary people who rate the items.

I really like the ease of use of leaving a rating, the site's navagation and user freindlyness, and I like the positive feel this site has, It's rare you can count an a site like this to be here for you. I requested a section to ba added here and they added it within a few days, and they sent me nice e-mail regarding the submission! They were very polite and nice in doing that. I appreciate it. I appreciate this whole site! I like the ratings breakdown section and it tells you the overall experience on the given topic and in each section it very helpfully displays the overall ratings for all the avalible items and thier ratings in one convenient place! No more going back and forth to compare items! they're all there ready to compare! I like that in a ratings site. and Rateitall.com surelay delivers! I've been posting here for a couple of months and I really enjoy this site. It allows me to voice my opinions about stuff and read other people's views. A lot of people here really have some interesting stuff to say.

I have to say, I discovered this website 2 years ago, and it has been the website I've visited the most since then. Since then, I've introduced it to several people and also met some new ones. Its great to see other people's opionions on things that you also rate. It is, to repeat MedgarEvers, a one-of-a-kind website. Even the people that you disagree with, you can find helpful by respectfully disagreeing. You can also develop relationships with people that do agree with you. Also, dittoing MedgarEvers, I almost always find a list that I had absolutely no idea existed and then go on a binge of rating (excuse my choice of words). It is a well-organized website and I commend the creator.

RateItAll is the only one of it's kind, as far as I know. Sure, you can review lots of different stuff at www.amazon.com, but this one isn't as commercially based. And we've developed a community: we've argued, we've laughed, I've personally had a great time here. Some people come, leave 20 comments and forget about it. They don't understand the greatness of RIA. I often end up finding a whole list of topics that I didn't even know about! I guess I'll continue with the tradition of naming a few reviewers that I've found to be awesome: both ellajedlickas, fisheyedfool, glorybox3, danmuse, raincat, TheFreak, Shafty, Drummer4Jesus, Molfan, Johnny Roulette, alicat, and of course guys like Ruby (my personal favorite), magellan, CastleBee, Wiggum who knows everything about everything, and even Dorkavitch has supplied us with some good comments. This is the best place in the world to express your opinions and not get dumped on all the time! Plus, I've made some cool new friends. Unfortunately, I'm running out of things to rate! When I entered the top 100 list, that was the best moment of my online life! And it's a great kick reading other people's comments (especially ellajedlicka21 and Medgar Evers---two terrific reviewers!) Here's a couple of my other personal favorites (not to pick on anyone!): magellan, Marc Chatow, blueeyes, afterglow70, killerqueen, fathi gepril elwago. And I know I left some of you out---sorry! And even though I am younger than most of the people on this site, I am treated like an equal! Now THAT is possibly the most rewarding thing. I first started going on this site to rate musicians only, but that slowly developed into other things. I have now been rated helpful 278 times total, had some neat conversations, and still I want more. I am a true Rateitall addict! Oh, and that reminds me, I am celebrating the "150th Freak Comment"! I suppose my own comments tend to be more complaints then actual helpful, articulately-presented opinions, but at least I admit it.. Anyway, this site is very entertaining and interesting! And to those people who give this site a rating of 1 or 2.. if you dislike it so much, why the hell "waste your time" complaining about how bad you think it is? If you think it's so bad, don't bother commenting about how bad it is. Like they say, don't go away mad, just go away. And some of you have complained ABOUT other people's complaining! I mean, look who's talking!

First of all, I wanna thank rateitall for giving us a place where we can voice out our opinion about things. But I'll have to agree with luce5061 that its quite localised. This causes raters like noah or Grim to give insulting and negative comments. On the whole, I think this site could be further improved by opening up, not only the things considering about the US, but also about the world.

This site is pretty cool..I mean I have fun comin hear and sharin my opinion..but some of the people hear critisize me or whatever and I don't like seeing all kinds of negative comments in my "personal mailbox"...some guy even said I was a moron...Now that is nice, I was havin a really nice day and I wanted to come hear and rate something and the I get this comment...I mean I don't like all that...and sometimes when I say stuff other users say I'm wrong and critisize what I say...I can't stand that...Anyway...the sight is really good, but some of the people here are just mean...Anyone agree? This site has had me spend more time on the internet than ever before. Seriously. It's got great features. The whole idea was great. It's keeps me entertained for hours. Just can't wait till it gets more age to it.

It sure is a great site! I've been a member for only one day, and just can't stop writing reviews. But it just feels that by tomorrow there will be nothing left to rate. The site can improve in certain areas. Right now, the 2 main objectives should be to constantly add topics, and to improve the site's speed, which has been terrible as to my experience with it.

I found this site to have more recent things rather than "older" things. You need a more retro section to your site?!

I think it's awesome that you can rate this site at this site. I typed it in the search field just messing around and was surprised when it actually came up. I think it's an awesome site. It's a great place to share and get information. I only wish that there were more categories, more entries within those categories, and possibly a way to contact reviewers? If there is a way, I would like to know about it. Also, I think it would be good to encourage users to fill in reviews of things they think are okay or not that great and not just to respond to what others have said. I think it would be very easy for this site to turn into one where you just go in and type in your favorite, actor, movie, book, TV show, etc. and give them a great rating. Anyway, that's just my take.

I wish the larger web sites would incorporate the RIT system of rating, its the best out there!

I think over 400 posts to date would tend to scream - I have REALLY been enjoying this site! I've not only had fun posting my own daily selection of Rants and Raves but really look forward to reading many of the other regular contributors to the site. I won't be so rude as to mention my least favorite ones - they have no real need to know who they are anyway. But I would like to applaud a few of the people who I find to be both entertaining and outstanding writers. Whether or not I always agree exactly with what you say (and I'm sure you don't always agree me either), I do always enjoy reading what you write and appreciate what I consider an outstanding ability to do so. This seemed to be the only method of expressing my thanks to you directly for all the insight, information, and laughs. I hope you all continue to post often and entertain and enlighten everyone with your words. Good, but the problem is, the ratings are legitimate. Some people very mean spirited have a favorite band,athlete, etc and want them to be highly rated so they give everyone else a poor rating to bring them down, without knowing who the artist is, or whatever.
