she is probably a really nice girl and she did a great job in helping her team win the gold medal, but whenever i hear her name i think of john tesh who was broadcasting the event, and he makes my skin crawl.

Okay...sure, she did a gutsy thing by getting back up to do a great vault after spraining her ankle. But is this girl really THAT great? No, she's not. She has done nothing to change or revolutionize women's sports. And one of the main things I didn't like was that after she was being hailed as a hero for her stunt in the Olympics, she let it go to her head. There's nothing in sports that disappoints me more than seeing an athlete with some talent develope into a swellheaded newspaper headliner. Two stars. Take care, everyone!

Nothing like becoming famous for being injured. If Kerri Strug doesn't sprain her ankle before landing her vault, she's another little pixie Olympic gymnast. But, sprain an ankle and land a vault, now you're an Olympic hero. I don't think so. Compare her to some that inflenced their sports forever - FloJo, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Mary T. Meagher (Madame Butterfly), Dot Richardson and Lisa Fernandez, Michelle Akers. Then, you'll give this squeaky little thing two stars like me.

I was very proud of her that she could train for three weeks prior to the Olympics and still get a gold medal. Even though the other countries kept on messing up, that doesn't mean she didn't do well.

She had heart. She was injured. Her final vault was for the American gold.

She shows courageous ability and strength to do the vault with an injured ankle. She shows that anything is possible if you go for the goal.

Kerri seemed like she worked very hard at gymnastics and always kind of hungered for the attention that the favored girls that she competed against got. She finally got a chance to show what she was made of and she did. I'm not sure if it was courageous or irresponsible of her to perform her second vault, but considering that it was the Olympics and she thought they needed her score to win, it probably put her in a positive light in the eyes of the viewers. She was a persistent athlete. She had already come back from a major back injury.

I remember the 1996 Olympics, the USA had one competitor on the vault. Kerri Strug is the US's last chance to win a gold medal. Strug's first vault fell short and she twisted her ankle. She became a hero by sucking it up and landing her next vault perfectly, getting the US the gold medal.

She was clutch! Sprained ankle, last girl standing, off the horse. She got enough for the gold and became a US superstar.

She's cool. She's a great gymnast and four years ago she went for the gold. Even though she was hurt, she went for it all... gold or nothing. That's cool.

I admire what she did, and I think it was really great of her. But I never liked the way Kerri always walked around with this look on her face like, "you know, you're really missing something by not giving me all the attention I deserve." It was great that the US won the gold and all but to hear her pathetic sob stories about being in the shadows her whole career and never getting enough respect...I'd rather tear my fingernails out with a wrench.

She sucked it up for her team, but was nothing more than an average Olympic Gymnast.
