An amazing athlete of incredible self-discipline, having trained every day from age two. What some people don't know is that he announced before the games that he would win 7 gold medals and set 7 new world records, and even announced the times he would swim them in. He was correct in every race to within 1/100 of a second.

If he'd won his seven golds in the '36 Olympics in Berlin, Leni Riefenstahl would've tossed her film into the pool. The Munich games should have been cancelled.
