A great athlete, who is forever (and justly) tainted for being juiced.
While Johnson bears his share of the blame for this, so do his coaches, and in particularly the Canadian Olympic committee, who facilitated or turned a blind eye to the problem, because he was bringing them a profile they desperately wanted.
Well, they got a profile alright, just not the one they wanted. And at the end of the day, it was only Ben Johnson who really paid the price.

Great athlete, tarnished reputation. His story is a testament to the disastrous affect greed can have on us all. These crooked athletes do drugs to make themselves better, not for their own self-satisfaction but for the fame and fourtune that come along with winning. It's sad. What if he had gotten away with it all? Could he really live with that deception in his mind?

I can vividly picture the overwhelming strength of his stride. Some runners are grayhounds - not Ben Johnson. He was a cannonball - Earl Campbell going 40 MPH. Down two stars for being doped up.

Hack! Once an athlete gets caught in drugs abuse thats how they are remembered, although he was a great athlete

Yeah he beat Carl Lewis,A drug user true, a drug cheat maybe not, if you look at each of the other runners in that final, they have all either admitted to taking drugs or been caught in a drug test.

A cheater is a cheater and Ben gets one star for it. If he were an american he would still have his gold medal, but that's another story.

a terrific guy and a scholar

Although he is a former record holder of the 100 meter dash, taking drugs to win a game is a terrible thing to do to an athlete's reputation.

Brought out drug scandal. Record time-no way. He was pressured to overcome Carl Lewis.

This guy represents what's wrong with the Olympics. The Olympics are meant for the best natural athletes; not ones who do steroids. Ben Johnson is a disgrace to his country. The Olympic representatives were right to strip him of his medal.

Steroids = big no no.

Horrible, broke the world record in the '88 Olympics in the 100 meters, but lost his gold medal for drug use. Pathetic.

Canada's biggest disapointment. A national disgrace.

How can someone be so stupid to get caught doing steroids during the Olympics? What an idiot and a fraud.
