Chris Benoit is one of the top 10 greatest wrestlers of all time. His death came as possibly the biggest shock in the history of professional wrestling. Chris will be remembered as one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time and he will be sorely missed by the fans and his fellow wrestlers.

I'd say that he may be the best pure wrestler out there. The detractors who say he can't do promos should check out his recent things I can do in 25 seconds or the old gag where he assured Kurt Angle that he was keeping Kurts gold medals someplace warm. UPDATE: Well, news is getting out about the latest tragedy to hit the wrestling world. I've seen Chris Benoit on many occasions and he's never done anything short of a spectacle of epic proportions every time I saw him wrestle. His legacy will live on in the wrestlers he has influenced and he will be sorely missed by his fans. The bizzarre circumstances surrounding his death as he has apparently killed his wife and child and then himself leave lingering tough questions that I don't think will ever really have answers.

I'm not sure what to say. Chris Benoit always seemed like one of the classiest guys in the business. He was clearly one of the best technical wrestlers of all time. But now the reports are saying that he killed his wife and son and then committed suicide. It's just so hard to believe that a guy like Benoit could do such a thing, so until the investigation is complete, I really don't know what to believe. My three star rating is a result of my complete lack of understanding about what really happened in the last few days for Benoit's family.

(June 25, 2007) Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy (known to fans as "woman") and his son Daniel were found dead in their home. This is a tremendous loss to the world of wrestling and fans all over the world. I first became aware of Chris Benoit in the mid 1990s during the heyday of the original ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling). I became a fan of Benoit's the first time I saw him wrestle because no matter what move he was using, whether it was a forearm to the chest, a suplex, or his famous crippler cross face finishing move, he put 100% into everything he did, with no exceptions. He was not a prima donna and would sometimes shake the hands of wrestlers who defeated him. He had respect for the business, respect for the fans, and as a result had legions of fans who followed him from ECW, through WCW up until his last television appearance for the WWE a few days before his death. He was a great techinical wrestler as shown by his matches with other technical greats such as Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero. Those matches were among the best ever shown on television and were awe inspiring to see live. Yet Chris could brawl with the best of them, giving and taking chair shots and would take the battle to his opponents in whatever style they wanted to wrestle. The wrestling business and fans have lost a great talent, a man who was a true wrestler in every sense of the word. There are many good wrestlers but only a handful of great wrestlers, and Chris Benoit was a great wrestler. RIP Chris, Nancy, and Daniel. You will be sorely missed.

Rest In Peace, Chris Benoit.
I just read in the news that Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and his 7 year old son were found dead at there home in Atlanta. WWE has cancelled the show tonight, which was to be the McMahon Memorial show. Tonight, Vince has stated that his death was storyline fiction, Chris Benoit death is real. Tonight is a tribute show to the memories of Chris, Nancy, and Daniel Benoit.

I was first impressed with chris when he was a four horsemen and tangling with the new world order.A very sound technical wrestler.I hate his flying headbutt move from the top rope.Otherwise I think he is good enough to beat anybody out there today.

Pipsqueak. He's no Undertaker.

I think that Benoit desvers this title because he worked hard forever to win every match he goes in and + he's candian and my brother is a big fan so give the title to Vhris Benoit
dudegreg 09/14/2004
PEGASIS KID!!!

I dont particularly like Benoit, but He can keep the title for as long as he can hold it, He'll just keep beating Triple H, and Orton couldnt beat him even if evolution helped, just because Eugene will come out of nowhere again to stop them.
MariusQelDroma 07/26/2004
Pheer the Crossface.....run far far away if you're Evolution. :)
emma_2004 07/20/2004
yo yo yo hunni u might not be as pretty as hmmmmmmmm.........JOHN CENA, but u sure know how to wrestle aye!!! he really deserves that victory over HHH

Chris Benoit is one of the greatest heavyweight champions that there has ever been in the WWE he deserves it I hope he holds it for a long time
sasha_li 04/26/2004
I don't think he can carry the WWE like other WWE/WWF champions like Sammartino,Hogan,Austin and The Rock, but like Shawn,Bret and The Undertaker,he certainly deserved the title.
Redoedo 05/26/2003
"I'm the best damn technical wrestler in the WWE".... You better believe he is! Nobody with the exception of Kurt Angle is quite as articulate in the ring as The Wolverine. He's never disappoited me in any of his matches- always stellar performances. ALWAYS! It was great that he came back from that serious neck injury and now seems to be wrestling as good as ever. He may lack the mic skills, but he has indeed improved since his debut in 2000. Of course, you'd be an idiot if you said that his lack of mic skills didn't have anything to do with his never being given the WWE Championship. I highly doubt this man's ability to carry the entire WWE as Champion. He may attract old-school viewers who admire his technical wrestling skill, but turn off many viewers who would be forced to deal with his less than stellar mic skills week after week.
Malveasor 05/20/2003
I can't believe some people would give Chris Benoit a one-star rating. He is one of the best and most technically sound wrestlers in the WWE, up there with Kurt Angle, William Regal, Chris Jericho and Lance Storm. The only, and I mean only reason I give him four stars instead of five is because he isn't very good on the microphone. However, he has in fact been improving, and has improved drastically since his debut a few years ago. The only real question I have is: why hasn't this man been the WWE Champion yet?
grandpaw001 05/19/2003
who in the hell in their right mind jumps off the top of the turn-buckle and land on their fat head, man what a dumb ass

The Wolverine rules!
Quann 05/08/2003
This man is a wrestling machine. Any match he has is one worth watching.
Kalbowski 04/03/2003
He lacks charisma and his kind of wrestling only works for me when theres someone just as good as him in the ring, otherwise it seems a bit disjointed. Plus that triple German suplex spot, it don't work because everyones bigger than him and has to get up of their own accord. Love his work with Angle though
jdsteffen 03/21/2003
Great technical wrestler. Great character. The only thing holding him down is the fact that he's almost small enough to be a cruiser weight.
montana55 03/11/2003
He's a tough pug! Makes me respect Quebequoises.
TripleH595 02/27/2003
Awesome talent, does not use it the right way!
rogue 02/20/2003
Consumate pro who just needs a little help with the mic.
allknowing 02/14/2003
no Bret Hart,Bruno,Ric, or close don't have the skillz on the mat or mic...he's tough but no..not great ..yet...lost to Kurt 2 times now..he's lucky i gave him 5 stars..lol..thats why u were doing jobs in WCW....need to work on ur mic skillz but its wrestling and ur on ur way..

benoit is so fu*king good. hes my favorite all time wrestler.

I am a number one Chris Benoit fan. I think that Chris Benoit deserves the Tittle of being the number 1 Best technical wrestler. It is because of his tallent that he has been wrestling for so long. Benoit has come along way to get where he is today. Benoit has got a very good personality hidden away somewhere and it is starting to shine very brightly through the WWE. Benoit is my hero, always has been and always will be.
faceman 12/05/2002
While his mic skills, and his personality does not a full five star rating, however, this guy can wrestle. Do you hear me? This guy is a wrestler. He pretty much holds his own with Kurt Angle, could no doubt out wrestle the Rock, and many others in the WWE.
JimHarter 11/25/2002
Another Bret Hart. Excellent technician. Not great on the mic, but I beleive mic skils can be overrated. He needs to stop the top of the turnbuckle head butt to lengthen his career.
SCSAchik 06/06/2002
The best technical wrestler! i love chris benoit!
Texx 11/28/2001
The best pure wrestler left in the business.
DDodgeSilver 10/09/2001
I really like Chris Benoit, and his claim of being "the best damn technical wrestler" in the WWF, if not true, may be close to true. However, his lack of mic skills is what stops me from giving him the full five star salute, and it's also what will stop him from ever holding anything better than the WWF Intercontinental title. (Although, with the diminished standing of the WCW title, I could possible see him with a short run at that.) It's nothing he can't fix, he just needs to learn to portray a personality. If Tajiri, a guy who doesn't even speak English, can project a huge range of personality through nothing but facial expressions, surely a guy with a bit of an accent can pull it off.
TheFreak 09/05/2001
The ****ing coolest pro-wrestler ever. He doesn't just fake it like the Rock and some other guys I could mention, but his acrobatics are real, his I-don't-want-any-help-so-you-can-just-stay-out-of-my-match attitude is wonderful, and he is quieter than the Rock and other loudmouths that he's been compared to. Get well soon, Chris, 'cause we miss you and really need you back at the WWF so you can knock some sense into that depraved Kurt Angle (not to mention, Vince McMahon).
dragon666 03/14/2001
kids, this is why inbreeding is frowned upon by most of the world! he should get hooked on phonics before the wwf gives him anymore time on the mic. technically someone should just kick his ingrate ass!!
cryskome198 03/11/2001
How can anyone not like him?
softballchick 01/27/2001
Chris Benoit is DEFFINATLY a Canadian. Not 2 diss Canadians or anything, but from the part of Canada he's from, they all act like "2 good 4 u" snobs. Now, I have many Canadian friends, and my friends boyfriend (hot) is Canadian, 2. So I think almost all Canadians are great people. But, back 2 Benoit, what is his problem?!?!? He needs 2 get into his puny little brain that he is not, has never been, and will never be the best technical wrestler in the WWF. And look at his face! It looks like his mom droped him on his head when he was a baby! One of these days, someone is going to teach him lesson he will never forget. But, I do have to give him props, though. He does show a lot of intensity and focus in the ring. He's got good moves, too.
flai6201om 07/21/2000
the next wwf world champion

Chris Benoit is too seroius for my intrests. If he wants to become more popular, than he should try to get mote personality.
OUgo433om 10/26/1999
Benoit is the most under appreciated, yet hardest working pro wrestler. He can make great matches regardless who he wrestles.
BABO405OM 10/26/1999
He's hardcore. He doesn't care what anyone thinks about him.
