I don't think he's "washed up". He's at the very least a solid backup. I think, given the appropriate opportunity, he could be a hell of a lot better than some of the starters in the league that some people think are good (Jake Plummer, for instance).

Couch is a great quarterback who hasn't gotten his chance yet. I believe that he shouldn't have been a #1 draft pick, but that doesn't take away his talent. If I was either Baltimore, Green Bay, Houston, or St. Louis, I'd sign him. He's got plenty of time to redeem his career.

He's got plenty of tools- good set up and good vision downfield, he looks off the safety. His arm is strong, but only to a point. He'll underthrow the deep routes still. He can buy time with his mobility and make plays. His pocket presence is still questionable, and he has trouble reading coverages, but that will come with experience. It remains to be seen if it was a mistake for them to thrust him into action so soon.
