I think he is an awesome football player, and for obvious reasons. However, I am sick and tired of seeing his mug all over billboards across Central Florida...give it a rest already ! SIGHS !

Dan Marino is the best Quaterback to ever play the GAME. End of conversation......
Philkid3 09/06/2003
Teams win Super Bowls, not QBs. Dan Marino's numbers show him as the greatest. I won't put him quite that high, but I will give him his due as a member of a fairly elite club. The top 5, that is.
FredTaylor#28 06/21/2003
Anyone who truly knows football and follows the game of football know that Marino had the physical ability to throw the ball unlike anyone else. His quick release, his quick decision making, and his incredible velocity enabled him to compile yards, first downs, and touchdowns and turned the Dolphins into a offensive force with his presence alone. Not only that, he probably had the best pocket presence of anyone also. He could sense the rush and sidestep just at the right time. Bottom line: In his prime, i'd take this guy over anyone who has ever played. The two biggest keys to winning a ring are a proficient running game and a solid D. Marine never had a proficient running game and when he had a solid D, he was way past his prime. He's the greatest ever.

Probably the best QB to never have Super Bowl ring. Perhaps a Running game may have helped, perhaps mor mobility might heve. Either way, we'll never know.
mijimicah 04/18/2003
Simply put, he was the best passer the NFL has ever seen. He would have won a few Super Bowls if the Dolphins could have put a solid running back behind him.
unscarred53042 03/01/2003
The best quarterback ever. His greatness showed even without talent around him. He alone made the Dolphins competitive. Is it his fault that he was the whole team? Put Roger Craig in a Dolphins uni and see how many rings Danny Boy racks up.
MeatGrinder 02/22/2003
Marino's passing records may never be broken. It's unfortunate that he could never win a Super Bowl. He came too late for Don Shula to get him a ring. But Marino is still 3rd behind Unitas and Montana
mikey frans 02/10/2003
first of all...he had the same type of talent elway had the first ten years, elway had more wins and single handidly took his team to 3 superbowls...winning football games is what matters not passing records..he was a better passer than montana but not elway..Oh yeah elway was a better person than marino...Marino couldn't hold elway's jockstrap...
doom 01/24/2003
The best ever. Best stats and skill. Never had the team but is far better than any other QB ever!
CLAUDIO 12/16/2002
Greatest Quarterback
mcstowy 11/01/2002
The Record book doesn't lie. He and Unitis are the best.
lukskywlkr. 11/01/2002
Of course he had the monstrous statistics that everybody loves, but he was not team-minded. It kept him from scoring that all- important Super Bowl title.
skinsfan 10/23/2002
Bling bling you gotta have a ring.
ellajedlicka21 01/06/2002
He has the record for most yards in a season (1983). I was never a Dolphins fan, but Marino is one of the best QBs in the history of the NFL. A famous quarterback.
Rusty 10/14/2001
Even though I bleed red-white-and-blue Bills colors, and as much as I have despised and hated the Dolphins all these years, even I know when to give recognition to one of the most talented football quarterbacks ever to lace up a pair of cleats. He was a crybaby at times, and I loved it whenever he got drilled to the turf by Bruce Smith. But boy, was he a competitor. Those Bills-Dolphins games of the 1980s and 1990s were some of the fiercest, mpost bitterly-fought games I've ever witnessed. Way to go, Danny boy, for entertaining us all these years.
e2bug 07/07/2001
Great QB on a good team. I somehow always end up cheering for the Dolphins at the end of the season because they play with a lot of heart. He's SUCH a cry-baby, though...
koolsax 03/22/2001
Marino rules!!! All these people think its soooo horrible that he never won the Super Bowl. Big deal. He owns basically every major passing record and led the Dolphins for years. Now c'mon people isnt that enough. I'm a big Dolphins fan but let's face it he had no help it was all him. He has to be the greatest quarterback of all time and is a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame.
jaylynn 02/16/2001
The very best Quarter back of all time!!!This guy has a hart the size of florida.I absolutely love Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins but they did Dan wrong If Dan was still there the Dolphins would have gone to and one the Super Bowl this year the ravens I mean come on! How stupid are the dolphins they get rid of Dan the man for Jay Fiedler the guy is terrible he sucks they should of not ever hired jimmy Johnson he did absolutely nothing for ths Dolphins exept push Dan Marino into retirement Dan if you ever read this you retired to soon. I kind of wish you would have went to Minnasota to prove what you can do with a good running back wide recivers.
curlyfriez89 01/28/2001
Best QB eva! He will always be! The NFL would be notta with out him! You Rock DAN!
Johnny Roulette 01/09/2001
I can't stand the Dolphins, but even I'll defend the fact that Marino doesn't have a ring...he's not the guy who didn't draft or trade for a quality running back.
Rahimamir 12/14/2000
Overrated quarterback who never won a Super Bowl. He is not a good overall player. He had some potential but should not be considered an all star. He lost his starting job to an amateur.
Jayy18 12/13/2000
I think he is the best quarterback of all time. The only thing he doesn't have is a Super Bowl ring and no one deserves one more. He has all the records for just about every category. It will be close to impossible for anyone to compare to him.
jhall 12/13/2000
Best player who ever played for the Dolphins. Great throwing arm but couldn't win the Super Bowl against the 49ers. Of course he was a rookie, but so what!
PimpSlky25 12/13/2000
Best quarterback of all time! Has almost all the quarterback records. He had two great receivers in Duper and Clayton. His flaw was he never won a Super Bowl ring.
Weezer66 Stang 12/11/2000
Dan Marino holds all the major career quarterback records. The only thing that subtracts from his stellar career is that he never won a super bowl.
zb84 11/22/2000
Marino's numbers are sooo astounding that they'll never be reached again. He was one of the greatest pocket passers of all time. If only he had a running back!
hanul 11/17/2000
Marino obviously is one of the greatest players in the history of the NFL. Although he doesn't have any Super Bowl rings, he was one of the best. He just never had a team.
Munson 09/06/2000
Who cares if Marino never won the Super Bowl? He may not be the greatest quarterback in NFL history, but he is certainly the greatest passer. Imagine what his numbers would have been if he had played with a Jerry Rice or Chris Carter. Mark Clayton and Mark Duper were decent, but not great wide receivers and Marino threw touchdown after touchdown. Additionally, it is a shame that he never had a quality running back to take off some of the load. If he had, he would have won multiple Super Bowls and been mentioned with Joe Montana as the greatest of all-time.
Hola de Chile 06/15/2000
the absolute best
jim.7247et 06/08/2000
Greatest QB of all time. He single-handedly kept the Dolphins in the hunt for 17 yrs through season after season of bad drafts, poor defenses, and no running game. In a team sport, no other player has been able to make up for the lack of talent on his team like Marino did.
magellan 03/13/2000
Having lived in Miami for several years, I started to heard stories about the local sports celebrities, including Marino. What I heard about Marino did not make me admire him very much off the field. Supposedly he is a private person to the point of being nasty if ever approached, and refused to share one bit of himself with the community. That is fine - that is his choice, but it still keeps me from giving him a 5 (that is my choice).
upchuck 03/13/2000
dan has great great stats playing on less than great teams, i am glad he is retiring. (DESPITE HIS LAST COUPLE OF GAMES) he is going out on top...he was always the ultimate competitive professional and he sold a lot of "iso-toners".
GABR127OM 11/27/1999
Despite being in the NFL for so long, Dan Marino has accomplished many goals in his life. He has accomplished the most 4th quarter comebacks in NFL history.
hitm1569om 11/24/1999
He is the leader in every significant passing record. Even though he hasn't won a superbowl, his personal achievements make him the most prolific passer in NFL history.
mcpa1568om 11/24/1999
Marino is the greatest QB ever to set foot on a field. He broke almost every single record in passing. The only thing he doesn't have is a Super Bowl ring.
egol1561om 11/24/1999
Dan is the greatest quarterback of all time. He's going to the hall of fame. He rocks!
acer1525om 11/23/1999
Dan Marino is the greatest all time quarterback. His teams are the only reason he hasn't gone to the Superbowl. His stats surpass any other quarterback.
ep221520om 11/23/1999
Dan Marino is the greatest quarterback of all time. I think he will never win a ring though.
fogg1510om 11/23/1999
He holds every important record for quarterbacks.
davr811et 11/04/1999
The best QB of all time.
EDMA363OM 10/26/1999
Dan Marino doesn't hold all the passing records for nothing!
BEMM367OM 10/26/1999
I think Marino is the best, due to the fact that all the records and the teams he has had.
IGOT124OM 10/26/1999
Dan Marino is the greatest QB to play the game; all he is missing is a supporting cast. He makes everyone around good.
