I THINK MIKE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST BOXERS TO EVER COME INTO THE RING,SURE HE HAS PROBLEMS BUT WE DO TO.HIS ARE JUST MORE PUBLIC. THIS IS HIS CHANCE TO GET BACK THOSE BELTS THAT BELONG TO HIM!!!! The only reason this demented soul is out of jail in the first place is because others are still using him for financial profit. He needs mental and emotional help, but I'm sure all he will receive is more and more enabling - as long as it suits someone else's agenda. The whole thing is criminal and pathetic.

Mike Tyson is the greatest heavy weight boxer that has ever lived.His is the complete package.The media should leave him alone.Sure he has made a few errors in life,and so has alot of other people,he's human like everybody else.But because he is in the media spot light everything gets blown out of propotion.The rape incident was definetly a set up,your trying to tell me that she was just going up to his hotel room for coffee a biscuts??come on!!!He's a victum.The ear epsoide with evander was wrong,and mike know that as well,but in the heat of the battle sometimes things happen that should,and that was one of them.That nothing really when you compare what humans did to other humans in WW11,Hitler and co,gasing people for no reason.You can only image what its like when two 200pound guys are trying to knock each other out,bad thing happen sometimes.The road rage incident,Mike got hammed for that because of who he is.Road rage incident happen everyday in every country off the world.I bet those guy made mistake or were be silly on the road and were asking for it..Mike Tyson was born to be a boxer,like MJ was born to play basketball,TW was born to play golf,they are all freaks of nature.And the greatest all time at there indivdal sport.But the thing about Mike Tyson is that he had a very bad up bringing from were he came from,which is not his fault and had basically nobody he could really trust..Which is why people think he a bit of a nut-case,because the media blow things out off prortion when he does things or says things to make him out look like a complete uta physco.But I think if you had the chance to really get know the man he would be a gently giant.I was reading a interview lately about how Mike is struggling to find motivation to train and fight,well Mike I hope you can get motivated and put your mind on lonnox lewis and put the hard yards in and get yourself phiscally and mental fit to become the world heavyweight champion again.Because when Mike Tyson is at his best there is not a man on earth that can beat him.I hope Mike destroys lennox...

Mike Tyson may have some personal issues but people want to judge him on his past problems I say let the guy fight in peace he is one of the greatest fighters of his time (If not the geatest)there is no one in the world that can defeat the guy!!! Allow me to retort to those who rate this incredible fighter by his morality. This is a room to rate boxers, not nice men. If it were according to ethics, I would rate him a terrible. But rating a boxer, which is what we are supposed to be doing, I did not hesitate before clicking "Great!" I mean, have you ever seen this guy fight in his prime? Enough said.

I think Mike Tyson has unfortunately gotten a lot of negative press over the last several years. I recently saw him at the Las Vegas airport graciously signing boxing gloves, and whatever else people could dig out of their travel bags, for his fans. Considering most athletes rarely give autographs, or when they do they charge a considerable price for it, I witnessed Mike Tyson acknowledge each and every person who approached him with dignity. He was even kind enough to pose for a photograph with me.

People need to really take a good look at his entire career.Mike really deserves a whole lot of respect.Mike IS boxing,when you think of boxing two names come to mind Ali/Tyson

I have to say that Mike may be a shell of his former self, but name any boxer that had such a killing spree. He is still capable of knocking someone down on their ass. As a person he may suck, but in the ring he has proven that he still has what it takes to regain the title. I think it would be wise to count on him getting back on top. He has that street savvy that is seen only in a few.

Mike Tyson is a has been. In his early days, he beat up on a division that was absolutely horrible. Of course it's not his fault that the division sucked, but he beat up on glorified club fighters, thus earning a reaputation as a destroyer, invoking fear in his opponents the moment he came through the curtain. Then he hooked up with Don King and fought hand picked opponents. He was allowed to get away with this because he was the biggest money maker for the sport. Now, he resorts to biting ears to scare people because the rest of the world woke up and realized he isn't/never was as good as he appeared. p.s. His "fight" against Spinks that was to "cement" his place in history has to be one of the biggest farces in boxing history. Think about it. He destroys a lightheavyweight in 90 seconds and secures a place? Come on! Not to mention that Spinks layed down for him.

People should realize that Tyson is a boxer not a role model. How many of the people that criticize Tyson have no idea what it takes to get into a ring and stand toe-to-toe against another man. Boxing is a ballet of violence in which only the winner goes on to dance again. Kill or be killed. Granted Tyson has serious personal control issues. But, is he competing to be world champion of self-control and civility? I think not. He competes to dominate and control an area surrounded by ropes covered in canvas and governed by a referee. He is not running for president or head of the PTA. These are facts that most people overlook. He should be judged for what he does not for how people think he should act. Mike Tyson is possibly the greatest boxer ever. He may not be able to host a talk show, represent the finest role model for young people, or give lectures on ethics or morality. But, he can and will kick your ass (professional or punk critic), with text book style, grace and the agility second to no other. Mike Tyson never graduated from high school but any student of boxing knows that he is professor emeritus of pugilism. Civility is rarely excersized in our world. Why do we expect it to be excersized in the ring? Mike Tyson is reminiscent of a character in a Horatio Alger novel. He imbodies the best and worst in all of us as Americans as humans. People have taken and taken and taken some more from this man without remorse or regret leaving him without recourse or satisfaction. The butt of countless jokes and criticism. Regarding the ear biting of Holyfield. He is was and will always be wrong for this. Review the tape. He was actually dominating Holyfield when he bit the ear. It is apparent that Tyson was not himself that night. Possibly King wanted him to throw the fight. Instead of taking a dive he chose disqualification/cannibalism.

Just when we thought cannibalism was reserved for some obscure tribe in the Amazon, along comes Mike Tyson. It's not bad enough that the guy sounds like Elmer Fudd after a fifth of scotch, he thinks that eating people is a viable meal. Now, I'm no anthropologist, but I've analyzed Mike's behavior and I'm beginning to see a pattern. First, he takes a bite of Evander Holyfield's ear. Obviously he thought Evander's head was like the sampler platter at Denny's. He went from one ear to the other and would have probably bit Evander's nose if the fight hadn't been stopped. You can see why Mike got upset, imagine if you went to Denny's, ordered the sampler platter, took two bites of a chicken strip, and the waiter came and took the plate away before you even tried the fried cheese, you'd be pissed too. And the incident in the Francois Botha fight is easy to explain. Apparently, Tyson mistook his arm for the king crab at Red Lobster. He was simply cracking it to get at the meat inside. I'm surprised he didn't try to dip his arm in the spit-bucket hoping it was butter. Then there's the newest thing from Mike, the "eat your kids" reference about Lennox Lewis. As shocking as it may sound, in Tyson's mind he was simply "ordering the veal". Furthermore, the only reason he still pounds on people is because he considers it "tenderizing" the meat. If my theory is correct, he will eventually book a fight with Butterbean in order to take an advantage of the "all you can eat" buffet.

Alright, so Iron Mike is not exactly a socialite elite, but he's exciting to watch. Why not try to judge his talents for what he's done throughout his boxing career, instead of just his biting incident? Who can really say that he's not an exciting sports figure,... who has made some very bad judgment calls in his personal life. I'm a far cry from being a psyc-doctor, but I DO KNOW there are plenty of "normal" people in society with social disorders who are not getting any help.

This is a man that I tell my kids to never, ever, never be like when they grow up. Don King is no better example then Tyson.

How pathetic is it that this guy is still the biggest draw in the heavyweight division? At this point, it his aura and not his skill that keeps him in the forefront. His boxing skills have diminished a great deal and he will never be a champion ever again. And, let's not forget that he is a criminal and a complete a-hole.

Do I have to give this jerk this high a rating? It seems that there should be a Zero star category.
