Not only is he a great boxer, he is a good person and seems to be a great Dad. He is the finest man in boxing, EVER. I Love Roy Jones Jr.
black30s 03/02/2003
If its someone better, then please let that person step forward. He's the best pound for pound.
ilove2coach 03/02/2003
Roy is one of the greatest fighters in this era. Its a shame he has to go up in weight just to make a fight look worth buying. I love his style and coolest in the ring. Good luck Roy and I hope you never lose again.
Carnage3601 03/02/2003
Jones has proved he is the GREATEST since Muhamed Ali, He kicked Ruiz's ass! He's the WBA Heavyweight champ, I say he fights Chris Byrd next and takes that belt then take a shot at Lennox Lewis.
abzloot 03/02/2003
RJJ is the best... PERIOD! He is the most committed and disciplined fighter in history and when he steps up to heavyweight division and unifies that weight class the world will have no choice but to acknowledge him as the #1 boxer of all time. Roy, you are and always will be the best my man! ***ADDED*** To all you whining haters out there who didn't give RJJ a chance and/or think he is the true champ that he has now and before proven that he is i.e. chumpy, shukhevych, boxingfan, el_conde55, caballo, claudio, bigd1760, metzman and jose izzo... you can all suck on Roy's Heavyweight Champion of The World belt and history making records you no sense having, small penis envying, boxing wanabees! Roy straight up school'd that sucka and there is no-one, and I mean NO-ONE who can dispute that he took that fight straight to Ruiz and carved that boy up! AND THAT IS THE REAL DEAL!!! ~Abz~
WhipAzz11 02/26/2003
Roy Jones Jr. has demonstrated that he simply the best pound for pound fighter ever. He would destroy Oscar, Felix, and he WILL beat John Ruiz to become the heavyweight champ! He has only lost one match since turning pro. That match was called a loss because he lost his temper and hammered the guy senseless. If he keeps his emotions in check and thinks he is the most dominating boxer. People say he hasn't proved himself yet, well hey there is nobody left to fight in the lightweights so he must being doing something right!!
Lastboydyme 02/16/2003
I think Roy jones is the greatest boxer of all time he has his own style and he is the best pound for pound fighter ever to live. He is my biggest idol i box in Mi and one day i hope to accomplish what he have and win the olympics and have no losses with all the belts and one day before he retire to sparr with roy im 17 now but hopefully by the time im 20 he'll still be boxing so we could go at it in the gym. I want to see roy succeed in winning his first heavyweight fight good luck roy.
ArcticMarine 02/14/2003
Roy Jones is by far the best boxer in the world right now. He is about to fight a heavyweight champion in Ruiz, so after he wins that fight there is no way anyone can say he hasn't fought a real opponent. I would like to see those people who say he hasn't fought a real opponent get into the ring with any of the guys he has beaten. These guys are professionals, they get paid to fight, and he has beaten champions. I would like to see Roy step down to kick Trinidad's ass because I know he would, and maybe it would shut people up.
EDDIETHEGREAT 02/04/2003
How can you hate this guy? He is the greatest ever just watch his fights if you disagree, my friend!!!!!
tim vick 01/31/2003
hes afrade of hopkens he wont take a reall fight plus hopkens is more seasoned than there first fight im not saying hopkens will win but his got chances if roy messes up once hed be there to take it for what its worth
mortgageguy5 01/30/2003
hand quickness is amazing. Power is good in both hands. Needs to fight with someone credible soon!!
bigtyke 01/29/2003
Roy Jones is a phenom. Jones has many detractors who feel he does not face top competition, but the fact is that he is the best boxer in the world dominating a weak division. He's beaten many great fighters over the course of his career. Jones fears no one, as evidenced by the fact that he will challenge John Ruiz for the WBA heavyweight championship in March of 2003.
KIMNJ 01/27/2003
LATELY PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE STARTED PUTTING ROY JONES DOWN, THEY'RE SAYING HE WON'T MAKE IT AS A HEAVY WEIGHT, BUT MAY I REMIND EVERYONE OF HOLYFIELD, THEY SAID HE'D NEVER MAKE IT EITHER, AND IN MY OPINION ROY JONES IS POUND FOR POUND THE BEST AT ANY WEIGHT CLASS!!! AND HE PUTS ON A FIGHT WORTH WATCHING FROM BEGINING TO END
mattjudge 01/25/2003
Pound for pound, the best I've ever seen.
hpmaster12 01/18/2003
roy jones jr. is the best fighter in he world. He has only one disputed lose which should have never happened and was avenged by a first rund ko.
Ridn4lif69 12/20/2002
Trinidad cant carry Roys gym socks. He has destroyd 3 weight divisions and beat the best in them. Roy Jones is in his own class. When its all said and done probaby greatest boxer ever definitly top 3
CLAUDIO 12/16/2002
empt record
Gutiknecht 12/04/2002
He, is my favorite Boxer rated by skillz handspeed, punching-repartoire and power! And the ease he figts every opposition!!! And there has been opposition - You all must have forgot! Greetings Sebastian
one-five 12/01/2002
Original and inventive, he is amazing to watch. If you have tried to do what he does in the ring (land hooks from way out of range, throw jab - uppercut combinations) you begin to realize how great he is. It seems people need to see him bloodied or severely tested to admit that he is great. He is great because of his preparation skill and unwavering will in the ring
Jerry Darrell 12/01/2002
Roy is easily the best pound for pound boxer in the world. Understand that he outweighs Felix by 20 pounds, and the latter half of his career has been knocking out guys twice as big as Trinidad. Felix is a one side fighter with only a left hook, where as Roy has hand speed and strength unmatchable compared to anyone his size. And Roys gonna kill John Ruiz.
BigD1760 11/28/2002
Hes nothing he has not faced any real competion.
Shukhevych 11/25/2002
Where the hell is Klychko on this list?...
metzman 11/17/2002
let roy take on men like graziano, hagler, or a dempsey stile fighter instead of men who are 3 yrs. out of their prime with no real one punch knockout power. this guy is a marketing machine. sure, he's fast, but a professional boxer should be.
southernpatrio t 03/15/2002
I'd like to see Roy fight Mike Tyson, if they were in the same weight class; Roy could straighten this dude out!
Potch1214 10/11/2001
The best boxer in the world right now, bar none. Possibly the best since Leonard and Ali and Duran. I watch this guy and I can only say "Wow." He so far outclasses everyone else, it's not even funny.
briannissan1 08/09/2001
Yo...I dont understand the whole trinidad/Jones thing, I mean people in this world is just crazy to even think that Trinidad has a chance. You Tito fans just don't understand, It's just stupid to think that he has a chance against a guy like Jones. Let me break it down see, Jones is too fast, smart, and powerful for Tito,Thats the bottom line, and all you Trinidad fans better hope that Tito doesn't make the biggest mistake of his carer. I mean just look at the last 3 fights that Tito fought. He got a boxing lesson from De La Hoya, he beat a new young not so talented Reid. beat Vargas do to lack of experience. and killed Joppy who is real stupid for trying to out power trinidad. all those fights does not mean anything to me. Thats why my list for pound for pound goes like this. 1 Roy Jones JR. 2 Shane Mosley 3 Floy Meawheather Jr. and Super Zab Judah. and you could go from there. well actually meaweather and Zab could go either way. but I would probley put Zab 3rd after he knocks out koysta what ever his name is.
yink 07/13/2001
I love you Roy! You're wonderful! Ms. Yink
pink_fantasy 07/06/2001
I bet he can beat Tyson. Will Medina
King Kamali 07/06/2001
Roy is going to need all he have if he want a chance against the puertorican King
keithsin 06/25/2001
Roy Jones is from my home town PENSACOLA and he will KILL Felix Trinidad.
Trinidad 06/12/2001
I really wish people would stop talking about me fighting Mr. Jones. I dont personally have any desire to do so would like for all my fans to drop all this talk. What more do you want from me. Please just accept me for what ive accomplished and let me retire unbeaten.
truefan1 06/05/2001
He's good, but not that good. Trinidad will beat him.
BoXiNgFaN 05/22/2001
So he claims to be the best pound for pound in the world? Yeah right...This man has talent no doubt, but he either needs to move up in weight or go down to middleweight to have the competition everyone wants to see...As for now he's not on my list at all. He's a nobody fighting lesser nobodies...If he's Game, then let him take the challenge
El_conde55 05/20/2001
Roy Jones might have the gift of boxing but he has no heart. That makes him a coward. This next quote comes from a recent interview after Trinidad dismantling Joppy. Roy Jones said "Fight Trinidad? Why wouldn't I want that to happen?" he said. "I'm a businessman, not a fool." Now he is saying that if Trinidad wants to fight him it has to happen before January when Trinidad is fighting in September. Let's be realistic Mr. Jones you don't want to fight him and if you do everybody knows that you are going to put a De la Hoya kind of fight of hit and run. Trade with him and lets see who's the real man. That is reason I rate Jones the lowest because the lack of heart. No cojones!!!!!
HandyBuff 05/15/2001
THE NEW GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!! Tito will not come close to beating RJ!!!!! Don't hate the playa, hate the judges!!!!! Boom!!! Bam!!! Pop!!!Ouch!!! Tito has just been knocked out!!!!!
Makotoninja 05/13/2001
Roy Jones will eat Tito Trinidad alive, and I think most Puerto Ricans know that, but even they need a heroe. Isn't Tito a Dominican
VaRMiT 03/12/2001
Well, let me say this, I had the priv to meet Mr. Jones, saying he is conceited is absurd, He is a fine gentleman. I know he would not remember me. But his ability to give the public eye a good heart and smile is a rare side of people that are stars that are unreachable. As far as I'm concerned. Roy, your a excellent boxer with alot of talent to provide the world with more than just a hard-core boxing match, But the compassion of being good to your fans. -=VaRMiT=-
TheGreatest 03/09/2001
The greatest of the past 20years. The guy flew through 3 different weight classes like a hurricane and unified all the belts. the people who claim Roy to be ducking people obviously don't know a thing about him. He made James Toney, Virgil Hill, and Reggie Johnson look like yesterdays news. I hope he beats Trinadad and Michalsewski and Hopkins before he retires to cement his place as the greatest of all time.
travistidwell 03/04/2001
To say Felix Trinidad could beat, let alone even go 6 rounds with Roy Jones is with out a doubt ignorent. The matchup would be a one way sparring session for Roy, and personally i think he would hurt Trinidad if the bout ever occurred. Roy Jones has quicker hands, more power, and skill than Trinidad has even fantasized of. I believe that Roy would outclass even those opponents of Hearns, Hagler, and Leonard. In conclusion to say Tito would even stand a chance, is like saying Roy Jones could beat Lenox Lewis, just not gonna happen
seakin 02/26/2001
Roy is the man no one can touch him if people really want to see him beat up Trinidad good let Felix move up instead of Roy having to shrink down to prove a point.
SALEEM 02/24/2001
ROY JONES JR IS THE BEST POUND FOR POUND FIGHTER.AND ALL THE CRITICS NEED TO STOP HATING ON HIM.HE HAS NOTHING LEFT TO PROVE.ROY NEEDS TO KEEP ON DOING WHAT HE IS DOING AND THAT IS KEEP DESTROYING THESE NONE BOXING CLOWNS
JOSE IZZO 02/24/2001
JONES, YOU SUCK, IF YOU WANT TO BE A AGREAT CHAMP,QUIT FITHING POLICEMAN,FIREMAN AND 3 CLASS BOXER,TO BE THE BEST YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST, LIKE THE REAL ONE, TITO TRINIDAD.....
jaylynn 02/16/2001
There is no one out there with the talent level to ever beat him He should still be undeafeated he got shafted.
Psychobilly 02/11/2001
Roy Jones Jr. has got to be one of the greatest boxers of ALL time! I don't think there is anyone around nowadays who can beat him, and I also do not believe there has been anyone in the past who could beat him. In his weight-class there has never been a fighter as great! He should be ranked up there with the likes of Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, Marciano, ANY of the greats that you can think of. Hands down, Roy is the man!!
chavez 02/09/2001
roy is the best lb4lb fighter, except for vitor belfort. it is assumed that roy's opponents are clowns, however, who will fight him? tito will in 4 years, evander will after tyson eats his other ear. find a person who can Dominate any weight class he can (in good heatlh) attain; and you will find roy- i cant whoop him but i bet him 100.00 ill out fish him(bass).
Ctwinkle 02/06/2001
I think that Roy, is a very nice young man. His moves, attitude, persona, and the Fact that he puts God first. I think that Roy make boxing, boxing does not make Roy. I like the way that he keeps himself on a down to earth level. He always represent his home town "P'cola"! I'm from Century,Fla.,not too far from there so I can feel the brotha. I hope that you ejoy him and his performance as much as I do.
unclejohn 01/25/2001
read FACTS comments. trinidad could beat jones? okay? reading through the comments and came up with a conclusion. FACTS is an ignorant one-sided boxing fan. we are guessing hes in love with tito. no disrespect to mr. trinidad.
redetwodie 01/21/2001
i think roy is pound for pound one of the greastest fighters ever to set foot in the ring. his natural ability cunning and speed set him apart from other would be champs. he has proven him self as one of the greatest will no doubt go down in history as a truly talented and rembered champion
CuteSmile 01/15/2001
Roy Jones is an intelligent boxer with great potential. He appear to be a strong man with a great heart. He is not only good in the ring he appear to be great where it really matter and that is outside of the ring. I read an article on Mr. Jones in the most recent edition of EBONY and upon reading his story my heart went out to him. His love for animals and people says a lot for him. He has the money and the clout but it means nothing without the love of family and dear friends. He seem to be an average young man whom you can just hang out with and he will be himself ROY and not Roy the superstar boxer. He is sure to make some lucky woman a great husband. Roy we need more positive athletes like you. Continue to do what you're doing and that is keeping it real and just being YOU.
