I doubt 90% of the reviewers here ever even tried LSD. So it's pointless to get a straight opinion on this one. I personally had an amazing experience with it and I can honestly say that it changed my whole perspective on life. I've heard stories where there are those people who freak out and have a bad trip, but some things are just not for certain people. I did this once as a learning experience, and never again, and definitely never regretted.

Enjoyed it completely. Such a wonderful experience for those that are mentally stable. Have not used it in 15 years as I am getting too old for stuff like that. Highly recommend it to those that are of sound mind and body.

Not as bad as "they" said it was, but it was stuff to avoid. I knew lots of people who ignored that advice and paid lots of pain.

The reputation of this drug was so disturbing that I've never been tempted to try it, even allowing for the fact that some of that reputation was assuredly hysterical anti-drug propaganda. Still, all those stories that I grew up with about Andy-Hardy type kids becoming Manson killers under its influence, or of hallucinating Diane Linkletters jumping off tall buildings, or of some out-of-control teen punching out a plate-glass window and then watching himself sprout flowers and sunshine out of the open arteries as he bled to death, had a shock-value effectiveness that never left me, I guess. It was strange-- I never worried much about drugs that could potentially kill me, or severely damage certain internal organs, but if they were going to affect my mind in a dramatically adverse manner, I wanted nothing to do with them (although I was always open to euphoria and an elevation of my mood, synthetic though that elevation might be). Some of the stories were, of course, hysterical propaganda. When I was coming of age, there was no middle-ground in the drug information we received. Drugs were either a destructive blight on American society, or they were a counter-culture endorsed path to enlightenment. "Reefer Madness" and "The Weird World of LSD" on one side; Cheech and Chong on the other. I knew a guy in high school who played piano onstage before an audience while on acid, and no one knew. I was told by those in the know that acid was a great drug to do if you were happy and feeling good about yourself, but an absolutely horrible drug to take if you weren't. Considering how surly and depressed I was as a teen, and during a great deal of my 20's, and into my 30's, and...it's probably a really good idea that I was never tempted to "experiment" with this particular drug.

  To me acid is like trying every drug in the same trip. You trip hard though, but I love it.

My friend though had a really bad trip and convinced herself if she didn't think about breathing that she wouldn;t, and therefore her trip turned bad. She thought she was going to die... seriously.. make sure you are with people you trust and stay at one place so nothing interferes. Also in order to do acid you should make sure your life is at a good place. Bringing baggage into your trip could affect in in all the wrong ways.

However, a friend and mine tried holding our breath to see how long we could hold it, and seriously we could hold it for so long. We were like damn, i think we should breathe again. It was so much fun. Laughing the whole time.

Danvayne, I judge before I try it because I'm smarter than that. I'd rather not hallucinate, thank you. Rather than hop into something just to see how it feels, I learn from OTHER people's experiences with drugs and don't follow their footsteps.

I never had a bad trip I have to admit but I wouldn't ever suggest that someone try it. Its been nearly 16 years since I last took acid and I don't miss it at all. Feeling good about yourself and being happy and looking forward to every new day can be a mind opening experience in itself without warping reality with drugs.

I tried this and had a bad trip. It did'nt work for me. I almost went to the hospital but my friend just locked me in a room and played XTC Skylarking. Andy Partridge was in my room screaming his unbelief. I could see him! And the little kid was chasing me. I saw mountains, cities of gold, rushing volcanoes, earthquakes, 8 foot cats, 7 foot dogs, ect. I survived and never did it again. This was 1990.

It's alright, but every time you take it, you risk changing your whole life. I would say go ahead and try it if you hate your life. I've seen it save suicidal people's life, and I've seen it ruin people's life. It's all how your body and mind takes it.

i had to drag around a friend who was having a bad trip for an entire night, and my desire to try it change completely, don't mess with this, it's so much more easy to have a bad experience than you think, and with acid, when it's bad, it's TERRIBLE

if you think acid makes you trip, you need to be aquainted with 3 letters: D M T, enough said

ACid or lsd can be good when taken in the proper setting and is taken responsibly. Acid does not make people insane but can give you bad trips. If you are going to do acid do it with a sober person and be in a relxed environment and make sure you are in a good mood when you do it. Acid doesnt cause any mental problems unless you have them already. If acid gives you a bad trip the bad feelings from the trip can last maybe even months afeter wards but you eventually mover on im tired of people saying acid and other shit is bad wgen they have no knowledge on the drug or havent eben tried it stop saying shit when you dont know what ur talking about yes acid can cause bad shit to happen and can be risky but it can also be very fun and insightfull even if you have a bad trip you cant go insane unless you already are and you will usually be fine on the drug if you are responsible and have a decent state of mind faggots

Probably wouldn't do this one again, but did have some good times with it in my teens. Oh yeah, sfalconer, you better check your facts. It's urban legend that LSD can cause insanity. In fact, LSD was used for many years to treat a variety of psychological problems and even alcoholism.

Fail to see any thing recreational about this. It has been proven to cause lots of mental problems and in today's society we have enough of people with mental problems running around. I have always said this is a bad list.

Acid in it's purest form and in small doses of 25-50 mcg. can give one a new perspective and insight on the world around him.

People shouldn't criticize or condemn the use of acid until they have experienced it themselves. It cleared up alot of my anxiety about the world around me, and made me feel alot better about life. Its only harmful when people let it control their normal life.

Like Russian Roulette, only not as noisy. It's quite obvious to me, from seeing friends of mine destroyed, that you can permanently ruin your brain with this stuff.

If it was guaranteed that I would see the beautiful things John Lennon saw in Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, acid might be worth a try. But from what I've heard acid just makes people paranoid, or even worse causes delusions of grandeur. I have heard of more than a couple of people who have jumped to their deaths, convinced that they could fly.

I will never understand why anyone would put something in their body that is named after a substance such as ACID...would you put real acid in your body? I don't think so.....a complete waste of time and brain cells.

I have had 6 good trips and one bad trip in my experience. When I had my bad trip my mother was there and was able to talk me out of it and for that I am thankful. I would not use this drug very often, I like more natural substences. But have over all enjoyed the experinces I have had. It is not for everyone and most assuridly can have bad side effects such as the dreaded bad trip. Use with caution.

Good times but can get a little scary every once in awhile. Whatever you do though stay away from mirrors.

No side effects or sluggishness like with shrooms. More powerful and serious also. Situations can be insanely hilarious and its extremely introspective and you feel like you know everyones thoughts. People talking is funny, music is weird. Ive never really had frightening trips on shrooms. With me, unlike shrooms, good trips can turn into bad trips with hardly any reasoning, even with a good state of mind and location ive had bad trips. Its extremely powerful. Such as one time I looked into the mirror after pissing out of curiousity and my face was a HUGE baby head cocked all the way to the side with blood and brains running out the neck. 'it' had bright yellow glowing eyes and a demonic smile and snakes were coming out 'its' hair, veins were bulging from everywhere, it 'framed' across my vision when i looked away, and then everything went downhill from there, although later the trip resumed to a good one. IT may not seem that scary in writing but i felt the most fear ive ever felt at the moment. I went from a good happy trip without that much visual distortion anyway to that, all at once. Also out of the blue my trip would turn bad. Ive never completely freaked out but still its very fucking powerful stuff. Most of the time I have a good trip. Im still giving it a 5, even with the bad trips, acid is awesome.

Greatly depends on what you are actually taking. Pure lsd cannot be touched as far as mind expanding. You will see the origins of man as well as the life beyond your human shell. Unfortunatly almost none of the acid on the streets can be considered pure lsd. It is actually a mold just like mushrooms but more powerful, the salem witch trials were from people eating moldy rye bread ergot mold. no big deal.. Junk on street people sell to kids, big deal.

I used to use this drug when I was a teenager, and I did have some very good times the first few trips I took. I always thought that the only negative was that it lasted too long (up to 12 hours). Then I had an extremely bad trip the last time. I felt like my heart was melting and dissolving down into my stomach, and I was in the most excruciating pain, and the sky just would not stop crushing me. I was terrified of absolutely everything around me, and nobody could help me or calm me down in the least. The worst thing was that when the trip turned sour, I still had about 6-8 hours to go before it wore off, and anyone who's taken it will tell you that 6-8 hours is roughly 700 years in LSD time. The feelings of panic and dread are worsened by the fact that your brains are scrambled so you cannot even think to yourself that things will get better. This is because LSD removes you so far from reality that it becomes impossible to imagine what sobriety is like. You forget what reality was like just a few hours before, and you can't conceptualize the possibility of ever coming down. It is by far the most powerful drug I've ever tried (and there have been quite a number), and after my bad trip I was a complete wreck emotionally spiritually for over a year. I am giving it two stars instead of one only because some people can handle it and enjoy themselves on it. You people will never realise just how lucky you are that you've never had a bad trip like the one I had. For people like me, this is a thoroughly evil drug that should never have been invented.

I would never condone it's use, but I must say I did enjoy the drug the several times I used it. Please question your motives before taking this drug.

yes, i have tried acid, and yes, i have done it more than once. you can explain the feeling to others who have never tried it, but they will never understand until they do. i believe that acid is very cleansing for me, but by all means is not for everyone. you need to have a good mind set and also a very personal understanding of what you will be experiencing and feeling. also, dont go crazy and take hit after hit. i make sure to only trip about 2 or 3 times a year, if that. it can be a dangerous drug and anything that changes your body's chemistry will be, so treat it like a vacation.

This stuff might have single-handedly destroyed Jim Morrison's life/career, and for that I give it one star. You tree-hugging hippies need to stop defending this brain-frying crap.

Anyone who rates this drug poorly obviously hasn't tried it. As an avid fan of any drug I can get my hands on, or as the Personality Psychologists would call me, a "sensation seeker", I have found that LSD is the most interesting drug out there. A small dose will send you into a mystical journey full of colorful visions and introspective thoughts. Spend an evening talking with friends who are in a similar state of mind, and you will experience true bliss. A drug that is not only incredibly fun, personally beneficial, but also non-addictive. It is a terrible shame that it is illegal. You will never see people breaking into houses/cars to support their LSD habit. A drug that definitely has a negative stigma associated with it. I ask all of you who have rated it negatively to give it an open minded shot.

I did LSD once when I was a kid. It isn't as addictive as most drugs, I felt no addiction. But it was scary. I think I caved in due to peer pressure. I made a mistake, and I will never do it again. Dont ever do this kids. You are putting yourself at risk.

VERY SCARY! you can live in denial all day long, thinking this stuff has no long term effects, but it isn't called acid for no reason, and you don't call yourself "frying" for no reason. in essence yo sh!t is being fried inside your head! i've watched too many of my old friends turn from functional contributing members of society into complete weirdos that i can't even trust anymore, not to mention i can't understand what the heck they are talking about half the time!

I thought it was fun, but I could see how some people get really bugged out. I didn't like how I felt the next day and not to much is known about what the drug actually does or what it causes harm to (if anything).
