Wrong! Supertech oil is made by Warren Petroleum...They also make Kendall oils I believe. This oil will not cause any problems in a well-maintained engine. No, it doesn't cause sludge; sludge is an engine design flaw exasperated by lower-grade oil and poor filters(Frams are the worst, btw)... For 3k miles, Supertech oil is fine, and the Supertech filters at Walmart are made by Champion, who also makes the Mobil 1 filters. Much better than the Fram orange cans of death! Supertech synthetic oil is a Grp III oil with a relatively weak additive package, has been shown to be good up until about 5000 mi. in most engines.

has anyone seen commercials on tv or anywhere promoting this walmart oil, never right thats why its cheap but is as good as any other syn.oil.We make our minds about products based on how much money companies spend advertising and how cool is the commercial and who is in it,indy 500 race car winner or top athelete and we are sold.I use 10w30 super tech synthetic or any high end oil its all the same after 4000 and 5000 miles its just in your head.I am a limousine driver for 16 years currently i have 380000 on my lincoln town car using gtx castrol and super tech no problems. In the past i have used all kind of synthetic oil ver high end like amsoil ect what a waste of money. My advice change your oil between 4000 and 4500 miles and use any oil but use the best filter on the market you be okay fram and bosch are good thats what i use and by the way this is my 6th lincoln hard to go wrong have driven so many miles.

I have a 92 camry with 130k mi. It runs great and I want to keep it running as long as I can. So I'm considering switching to Synthetic oil. Walmart brand beacause its about half the price of mobil. I heard that some older eninge seals can't handle synthetic oil and will bread down and leak. is this true for a '92 Camry 4cyl engine? Any comments on my idea to switch or the leaking?

I all have to say is for all of these uneducated comments about motor oil. There is a thing called American Petroleum Institute ratings that motor oils pass. If an motor oil gets the API certification it has passed testing. In addition to API testing. Most automobile manufactures have testing certifications that are equal or more difficult to obtain. Since Supertech and other brand name oils meet these certifications they do not cause sludge. If someone comments that after 2,000 miles such and such oil caused this. They are full of crap. All of these brand name oil's perform pretty much the same in 99 percent of passenger car engines when the proper maintenance is performed on the cars. There are many resources that will help you find out about this on the web just google them.

Supertech is made by Quaker State.

the idiot's that think Qstate oil is the best oil needs to look at qstate's history. supertech is a decent oil that's perfect for cars. depending on the driver..use common sense, if you drive like someone from nascar. you might want to go with a higher brand of oil. but, if you're a normal driver like most of us. supertech oil is just fine. i've been a mechanic for over 15yrs. the supertech oil works just as good as valvoline. but anyone, my vertict is, if you are a normal driver that doesn't race everyone, this oil will be fine for you. it's clean and clear. that's what you look for.

This oil almost wrecked my engine! I was only 2000 miles into the life of the oil when I broke completely down into black garbage and forced me to drive 10 miles with almost no oil pressure. I used the filter by the same company and it didnt filter well either. DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS OIL! Go with Valvoline even If it cost a little more. DONT RISK IT! As far as Im concerned, This brand owes me a new engine

This has been a Great Product for me. I have a 95 Caviler and I use Super Tech in it 100 percent of the time. I recently replaced a head gasket and the inside of the motor was spotless and in good condition. With the money i save on oil I put into a better filter and it always works great.

For the Winter of 2005-06 my mom had her oil changed at walmart with Tech2000 5W-30. Throughought the winter it seemed to always start fine. Here lies my problem you know likely it's a cheap grade oil that they get in bulk. Prob as long as you change your oil at the proper interval you will be ok and the oil prob meets legal SAE standards. But you want an oil thats over an above just the minimum. A 4.4L jug of this is 7.49+tax in Canada at walmart by comparison Conventional Quaker is 16+tax, Valvoline 16+tax, Castrol 16+tax, Pennzoil 15+tax. Now who really knows but as far as I'm concerned unless I was really strapped for cash even tho it is a good deal $wise I won't ever use this oil. I just don't know enough about it. It worked ok for my mom but this is not an oil I would go over the 5000km/3000M interval change with. Sure thousands of people use it cuz they go to Walmart for a deal and who can blame them, but my peace of mind is worth more than saving a few bucks. [Biggest thing is O&F-5kmOr3m]

I have used supertech in my 1995 GMC Sierra since I bought it. I now have over 250,000 miles on my truck. Ithink that says enough in its self. The oil is marketed by Warren Distributing as I have the MSDS sheet which names the manufacturer.

I drive a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse GS-T and use this oil in the summer. For the winter I will using something like 5W40 for the cold wintery season. I haven't had any problems as of yet. This oil is probably not "the best" out there, but it is not the worst either. It's "decent."
konan 04/04/2006
I have been using the synthetic on both of my vehicles since it came out. It cost about the same as the regular Castrol if not less and I can even feel the differance on my hands. It can't be QS!
rogwehbe 01/29/2006
I'm using it from 2 years already it's the Tech 2000 (10w-30) that I use on my Oldsmobile (150 000 miles) and using it all year long including the hard cold winter down here in Montreal - Quebec. So anyone can give me related info about this product, I'll be very very happy, and greaty thanksfull. PLEASE send me what u have on this Tech 2000 (10W-40) engine oil and 10x a lot.
jc60 01/03/2006
Alright for low performance engines-but then again if that guy is right about QS producing it-maybe not even good for low-performance engines.

One could use any SL/SJ rated oil and change at 15,000 mile intervals and get 100,000 out of the engine [but dont try it on Chrysler 2.7 engine or turbo engines] but if you want the 300,000 to 500,000 miles out of the engine then change it regulary for your type of driving and use synthetic oil. I have used Walmart SUPER TECH FULL SYNTHETIC Motor Oil since I first saw it in a store and have no problem so far. I have a 2000 Chevy Pickup with a 5.3 V8 with 105,000 and 2000 Pontiac Sunfird with a 2.2 I4 banger with 110,000. Each lose about 1/2 qt. between changes of 4,000 miles. I do have trouble finding it sometimes in store. I have had them order in for me and it be gone before I could get to store and pick it up.
bkrell 11/25/2005
Hah, this is a GREAT oil. It shows you can't go by label. It's made by Warren Performance Products and by ExxonMobil. Outstanding oil for the price.
elautsch 11/23/2005
Good motor oil. I use the full synthetic and I think it is as good as any other brand. My truck has a hard 130,000 miles. When I need to add between changes I just put in Super Tech 30wt.
123qwe 11/08/2005
QState which is the best makes it but this oil is nowhere near as good as QState.
papabill 07/21/2005
I have been using Supertech products for years without any problems.I do not not know who the manufacture is !.It was Quaker State a few years ago.I believe STP still makes their oil filters.Excellent value
mrtiptop 07/05/2005
I can not seem to find the full synthetic at Wal-mart any more !
Baynes 01/12/2005
Use in a 97 Seebring (85,00 mi)and 96 Geo (136,000 mi). Usually mix about 60% Super Tech Synthetic with 40% Super Tech regular...have never had oil related problems and would suspect my semi synthetic has a higher synthetic ratio over the big name brands.
mge_1 01/06/2005
Bought a 92 Accord and so far the supertech oils works good... Great for .88 cents per quart!!!
jpdanny 12/03/2004
Works great for me. I work my truck very hard and with 160,000 miles I never need to add oil between changes. I change oil every 6,000 miles.
oilmetender 12/02/2004
I have purchased both conventional and full synthetic Super Tech motor oils and I am quite satisfied with both products. I have no complaints and would recommend these products to anyone. These are great products at a discount price.
