I have to admit that this character has put me on a roller coaster. First you like him because he is trying so hard to be a great dad and you feel sorry that his kids is being such an ass. Then, you are mad he killed Hurley's girl and made the others get Sawyer, Kate, and the Doc. However, I have to wonder if that was my kid what would I have done. I think even though I would hate to hurt others for my own sake I would have done what he did to get my kids home. It is hard to like or dislike Micheal because he is on a fine line in this show.However, on his acting I think he is doing a wonderful job and plays his role excellently.

Finally season four is going to give the us answers. The writers need to explain if that Michael in the coffin or why did the Others let a powerful kid like Walt go?

UPDATE: Michael has gone "postal" after now shooting and killing two favorites on the show. The once liked Michael has turned into a hated villain. Still a good actor, which he must be to create such mood swings in the fans of LOST (Of course murder, does make one moody). Original Message: Harold Perrineau (Michael) was having some trouble in the beginning adjusting to fatherhood of his newly reacquainted son Malcolm David Kelley (Walt). Good actor!

I think it's kind of unfair to rate someone before seeing their backstory, but what the hell, I'll do it anyway. We haven't seen all that much depth in Michael's personality except for a hint at a romantic potential with Sun. The way he handled Jin tackling him was pretty cool though.
