 | nehmianathan (0) 09/03/2005 | after purchase of 30,000 btu air conditioner problem the next day thermostate would not regulate properly.three different companys sent service people over during a three montt period nobody was able to fix the problem(85 degrees at night before air conditioner would start & would run all day bringing down the temp to 65 degrees if you did not turn it off manually)I had also purchased the extended warranty, the problems were under the factory warranty. The n.c state attorney generals office could not even get GE to fix the problem.I have purchased a number of appliances since then and none are GE.I don' even buy GE light bulbs anymore.

I bought a 18000 BTU GE window unit that had the power saver switch. This was the closet thing to getting a central unit installed. It worked great! The temperature in my house no longer rose to the dangerous levels it once had, but instead stayed a very comfortable 68 degrees F all summer long. Another great thing about this air conditioner was that it did all this with very little increase to the electric bill. Great product!!
