I always like receiving clothes although it's hit or miss but since I shop for clothes myself so infrequently--they are always appreciated.

In general, clothes are a pretty good idea. Just make sure to get us clothes that look similar to what we normally wear. Don't use it as an excuse to try to change what kind of clothes we wear. For example, if you've never seen me wear a turtleneck shirt, there's probably a reason for that. Don't buy me one thinking that I'll wear it because you gave it to me.

Everyone- men and women- always go do for some new clothes. I did well on this front this Christmas... lots of new Jeans, sneakers, workout outfits, sweatsuits, nice shirts. Even the sweatpants Fern got me that were about 10 times my size (not joking, a 400lb man could fit in them) were well worth the laughs we all got out of them when I held them up to my body.

Although I no longer visibly pout when I recieve clothing for Christmas, I despise it with a passion. Come on, clothes are a 'need.' Christmas is supposed to be about wants with neat things like video games, DVDs, toys, games, candy and more!

If you buy clothes for a guy, you'd better be 100% sure it is something he will enjoy wearing. Otherwise, he may really dislike having to put something on that just isn't his style. If a guy truly wants and could use fashion advice, it's better to shop together so that you know that you will both be happy in the end.

Personally, I've had mixed reviews when it came to getting clothes as gifts, especially if your grandparents give you clothes for Xmas when you grow up.

It's good to get clothes for Christmas if you're an adult. I know as a kid I wasn't thrilled about it. Now, I really like getting jeans or socks because I tend to wear them out pretty quickly.

OK, but getting clothes isn't always something I look forward to.

It's absolutely critical for a guy to receive clothes as a holiday gift - if he doesn't he is likely to go on wearing the same thing for 6,7, even 8 years. We don't like to shop for clothes - and when we do, we are clueless - more concerned with getting in, getting out, and getting back to our business than actually picking out something decent. I would say that 60% of the clothes that I wear were given to me as gifts.

If it is necessary or desired for a better or more comfortable feel, it is a great gift. It is annoying though when people purchase you the wrong size of clothing.
