 | kissthecook (8) 05/23/2005 | This is number one on my list. I put pepper on everthing, and lots of it. I was so excited when I got my very first peppermill. I especially like it course ground over some olive oil for dipping crusty Italian bread.

 | Nanaki (0) 01/31/2005 | Pepper is pretty good. I don't know why I am writing a review about pepper, but whatever. A great spice, I can use it on almost anything. Steaks, eggs, potatoes, pizza. Good stuff.

 | VirileVagabond (32) 11/15/2003 | With a sharp, pungent taste and smell, pepper (along with salt) is the king and one of the most versatile of spices. Indigenous to India and other parts of Asia, true pepper is a dried berry from the Piper Nigrum vine. The spice works for almost every type of food and has a relatively large margin of error (ie difficult to under or over season). As another comment has noted, this spice stays fresher longer in a pepper grinder (plus it looks cosmopolitan as well).

 | hendo (0) 08/22/2003 | Pepper smells and tastes great. One essential item for your kitchen is a pepper mill or grinder because pepper loses a lot of its flavor soon after it's ground. Never use pre-ground pepper.

 | CastleBee (81) 03/22/2002 | A spice that can easily be over applied but one I feel is an indispensable cooking item. From finely ground white pepper to coarse black there is nothing quite like the zip of the pepper corn. I have always especially loved it in salads.
