I went to Copper for the first time last year. It definitely surpassed all of my expectations. You can find some wonderful secluded runs that make you feel that you have the whole mountain to yourself. There are some good food choices and the lift system worked like a charm. I came in as a beginner-intermediate and, due to the deep fresh powder, was able work my way up to some of the harder stuff. There are lots of moguls, powder, and beautiful runs to encourage even a novice to challenge him/herself to try harder difficulties. I loved it and would encourage anyone to try it at least once. I skiied Winter Park on the same trip and did not enjoy it near as much.

A great under-appreciated resort with large offerings for all levels. The only thing that keeps it from rivaling Vail is that it is not quite as big, but you'll save $$ on both lift and lodging with all the same quality skiing.

It's great, although very expensive...if you can afford it; then try it - it's worth it, you'll be positively surprised! :)

Copper has been growing. When the snow is deep, the moguls here are unbelievable! Nothing but deep bumps as far as you can see! A great intermediate-and-more mountain and the view from the top is unforgettable. They are now catering to families as a destination resort, but after the holiday crowd, it is quiet with locals skiing the solitude. My favorite in Summit County.
