It depends how it's cooked. I'm not a big fan of most of it, but baked butternut squash with a lot of butter and brown sugar is excellent.

Sometimes we would substitute squash for the sweet potatoes. Treat the same. Lots of brown sugar and butter!

Oh, this was always a favorite. It is all about the seasoning. I agree with Beloved. Well-prepared squash never becomes Thanksgiving left-overs. People will fight over it.

A staple with the pilgrims, but not at most Thanksgiving meals I've been to. Many find this dish a little bland, though a good cook helps.
