CVS/Pharmacy

I usually ask myself this question, "If they can short their team, what stops them from shorting me, the consumer?"
The concept of customer service is lost, because of corporate greed. The employee to customer ratio is terribly low. When you run a store or business at the bare minimum, you, the consumer, get the bare minimum. The company, in itself, is greedy as greedy gets. It's all about taking the most, and giving the least. For those of you who believe that this store doesn't consider you a "number", think again.
The CVS card is just like every other card out there... a UPC code. In short, a number. You're a number. Plain and simple. The concept of your "friendly neighborhood business" is lost because of stores like this. Buy low, sell at the highest. Offer coupons to keep people coming back, but never take a cut.
I, personally, believe they're a drain on the economy. Instead of laying people off, they just, straight up, FIRE the higher paid employees that stay 20 years, earn the 2% over an over, and push the 401k as much as they can. Then, after they terminate the more experienced, they hire fresh new "younger" people who are stupid enough to take minimum wage, and have to earn their dues just like the old. That way, the numbers stay solid by keeping wages low, and they look sterling to the general public by telling them they had to let certain untrustworthy employees go for breaking company policies.
Choke the employees by cutting hours, increasing workload, and set impossible policies. The smart will quit, the stubborn will get fired, and the determined will get heart disease and/or stroke. That's the Caremark way.
As far as the pharmacy is concerned, the reason they act like they help you is simple. They're following the Federal Law (mostly). Due to HIPPA, and other regulations it is unlawful to deny people certain rights. If a pharmacy (This includes any pharmacy in the nation) violates any of these laws, heavy fines follow a violation. So, when you hear,"No problem, we can do you a favor by (insert regulation here). That makes it convenient, too, for you, thanks to our company." its complete bull. The company doesn't care, and rarely the employees do. They're not paid enough to care that much, anyway. If you DO get the kind hearted, warm, and friendly employee... count yourself lucky, it rarely exists. They won't be there too long, anyway.
Look at the ratio of good in comparison to bad comments. Sad part is, that all the good comments are straight TEXTBOOK general comments from the company employee handbook. I would know, I was one of them.
