I like a band to have a fun element about them and these guys don't. They are sort of a dime a dozen in terms of their industrial sound. How can anyone truly get into a band that they can't understand the words?
WolfCat 01/05/2008
Great band, though not solely for their music. Their lyrics are raw yet poetic, and their stage show is really an art project loosely based around some industrial music. Powerful stuff which gets under your skin and certainly not the kind of band you can brush off lightly.
drkseph 01/05/2008
Awesome metal, kinda crazy though.
XAgent 08/08/2007
I may not know what they're saying but that doesn't stop my head from banging to some of their songs.
marciac 06/22/2007
Like someone said above... once you get used to the german lyrics, this band rocks, no doubt about that... Only ignorant bigots or people with no musical taste whatsoever can say the contrary. I think it's very ballsy to stick to your own language in such a commercial venture :)
ILikePie 05/30/2007
Everyone seems to be fascinated by them, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. They seem like good fun, but they sound like just above average modern noise-rock.
Rygamebuff 04/23/2006
Outstanding Live preformances, I use this band for learning German even though they have horrendous accents.
jj_frap 03/15/2006
Along with Skyclad, the only band I can listen to for days at a time without getting bored.
Volksman 12/15/2005
The greatest band of the world.Great vocal, great guitars and the german language is very likely for the rock.
scarletfeather 10/22/2005
Makes me think of Ramen noodles.
JamesTheFish 10/22/2005
Great band if you simply enjoy industrial rock and don't need to understand the lyrics. Also, German sounds extremely devilish which is very important to the sound.
espfreak142000 09/01/2005
Kick ass band!!
yaya101 08/21/2005
The greatest group on the world!!!!
iamfromhelltoo 08/12/2005

This lot have taken the live gig experience to a new level, way beyond even bands like Kiss. If you eveer see one band live make it Rammstein. All others pale into blandness by comparison. It also helps that the music is powerful and distinctive, in no small way because it's all sung in German.
elf_chick86 04/18/2005
i said this before on the mutter section but i have to say it again, they are quite possibly the greatest thing in metal to come out of europe.and to all the other rammstein fans out there Ich Will Eure Hande Sehen!(a line from ich will)it means I Want To See Your Hands! when they sing it to americans at a concert nobody raises their hands.so if you see them live raise your hands when you hear it!!!
Guava Monkey 02/23/2005
So, they owe quite a bit to bands like Minstry, Depeche Mode, KMFDM, Front 242 and Nine Inch Nails. This is, unlike these bands they make industrial metal fun and accessible. Moreover, German is better suited to this type of music than English. To top it all, they are the one must-see band around right now. In terms of putting on a great show they're right up there with Kiss, the Tubes and Prince.
afropath 11/17/2004
Rammstein is very clever with their musical style and presentation... and all of their songs are either so catchy or beautiful, or both. I think it's great that Till can make a sappy love song sound dark.
tophatman 10/13/2004
rammstein like whoa
MastirMynd 08/28/2004
Definately a great band with some great music. I didnt understand the lyrics at first, but i really liked the music itself. Give me some german heavy metal and a german car and im set.
MariusQelDroma 07/26/2004
Definitely not the Diet Coke of evil, even when they're singing about good stuff.
maersk 05/18/2004
worst thing to come out of germany since national socialism.
inertiakiss 04/17/2004
'mutter' is genius.
squirrelmaster 69 03/23/2004
these guys are awesome. when i tried to talk to some people about these guys they usually complained about how they can't understand them. thats crap. of course they don't know german but they say there bad becuase they don't speak english. music doesn't have to be understood to be great.
quezacotl 11/01/2003
I had to get used to the German lyrics, but once I got past that point I really loved their album "mutter". They even are popular in my homecountry the Netherlands, which is a big achievement, cause Dutch people tend to hate everything German. If you are a tiny bit interested in heavy metal, check out Rammstein and don't let yourself be scared off by the lyrics, and i'm sure you'll love it.
kolby1973 09/28/2003
This band is ok, but definately not worth all the ranting and raving I have seen on RIA lately !
grmnmuzik 09/26/2003
I don't see why Rammstien ISN'T so popular>
joefly69 09/26/2003
I like the music, but since the words are in German, I can't understand it. I saw them in concert though, and they put on a pretty good show.
jaspirtaint 09/22/2003
They don't suck
forgotten hero 08/28/2003
One of my favorite bands. Like I've said before you don't need to understand the lyrics to feel moved by them. There are idiots on this site that give them one star simply because they don't understand. I look forward to their next album.
Karakas 06/20/2003
Du Hast Mich. Vonderbich.
DrFeelgood03 05/28/2003
What they sing about isn't good, but they make some good music.
scar71 01/26/2003
bad, but in a good way. theyre german...and twisted.
CYRAX 01/17/2003
To people that dont know better they would be special to sing in german or they sound unique which to me makes me laugh. Try visiting germany there are LOTS AND LOTS of german industrial/ebm/coldwave/neo-classical artists and bands. Rammstein sound identical to LAIBACH's 90's stuff, even the vocals sound the same do your self a favour and buy a Laibach album instead. Rammstein do have some catchy songs and there stage shows are awesome but there is nothing original about the music.

ha ive heard these guys even though i dont understand every single word they say i still enjoy a little German ....im in a german class so whoof i can say&*!@# now to my teacher
couchpotato 08/23/2002
Just.....awesome. Powerful beats and excellent music overall. The fun part is translating them!
JimmiJones 06/15/2002
Crap! Left,two,left,two,how pathetic is THAT???
DeathRattle 05/28/2002
A very unique and great sounding band. A mix of keyboard playing and sound bites mixed with basic metal riffs. It's a winning formula. There's also something about the German language that just goes great with heavy metal in general. If these guys stick to their guns, they'll become one of the great titans of hard rock.
Talena 05/12/2002
I don't know who rated Rammstein one star, but they are way off base. For those of you who don't know them, Rammstein is a metal band from Germany. They are wildly popular in their home country and in the United States, which is unique bceuase all of their lyrics are sung in German and they have millions of non-German speaking fans. Their music is very intricate and brilliantly mastered...their songs can be anything from dynamic, powerful ballads to chaotic mosh-pit starters to mechanical, melodic almost eerie tunes. Frontman Till Lindemann's voice is strong and very deep, and it can give you goosebumps at times. Rammstein's romantic, dark, and well-written lyrics are poetic in quality, unlike most so-called "heavy" bands, who's lyrics are always the generic "I hate you, I want you to die" type of stuff...Rammstein does not write lyrics like that. Just read the lyrics to "Mutter" or "Heirate Mich" and you will know what I am talking about. And their live shows are unblievable...they have got to be the best live band in the world. Everything is set on fire on their live sets. Till Lindemann will stand holding his mic with flames literally engulfing his body. Their instruments are equipped with pyrotechnics, Till can be spotted playing with flame-throwers and the crowd always leaves drenched in sweat from the heat. If you have not checked out Rammstein, you are really missing out. I can't wait for the next Rammstein album, and I hope they continue to make awesome music for many, many more years.
