There are other trick taking games that are better and you do not need years to just master the bidding, the basic game of bridge is easy to learn though.

This is such a wonderful, challenging, thought-provoking game! I just wish there was a larger population of young people wanting to learn and play.

It was the king (or queen) of card games. It is fast disappearing from the scene. Forty or fifty years ago, we used to watch bridge lessons and games on television much as the people watch poker these days. In order to play at any decent level, you needed to know the rules of bidding. That took some work. It was a partnership game, and actually a good gambling game.

It's an okay game. I've played it a little on the computer and it's fun. But it's a little confusing.

Love it, though I'm not very good at it (not much card sense). Like any game, it's great when played with great people, and there's no pressure. Plus, there's always the advantage of having the dummy free to make more cocktails!

There is simply no card game with the strategy and play of bridge. Other games are simply boring in comparison. Especially hearts.

Enjoy playing cards--but not Bridge.Playing Bridge is not fun. Partners sometimes get unset and make it not fun. Thats why I became a Pinochle player. You bid and have partner in Pinochle also, but is played as more a fun and social game.

Bridge is simply the best card game there is. When played at the highest levels, it's a true battle of skill with very, very little luck inherent in it. This is not the bridge your grandmother plays. It's a game where you and your partner communicate in a language all your own - both bidding to describe the 13 cards in your hand, and on defense to further describe your own cards. At duplicate, you will hold exactly the same cards as every player you are being judged against. Whether you win or lose depends on how well you do with the same cards as those othe people. Now, that's a game of skill. And, that's why bridge is the only game of its type ever to be considered as an Olympic sport. To learn more about it, I suggest going to www.acbl.org, or call the American Contract Bridge League at (901)332-5586 to get more information.

I enjoy most card games, and Bridge is no exception, despite its reputation as a game for the elderly or people who lack social skills (e.g., Bill Gates is supposedly a big Bridge fan). The whole bidding process, where you have to send just the right clues to your partner, gives Bridge an interesting cooperative element that you don't find in most card games. But I can't give Bridge five stars, based mostly on personal experience. When I was in grade school, my grandparents often came over to our house to visit, and after dinner they always wanted to play Bridge. So I started learning how to play, and one night, when I was partnered with my Grandfather, I had two cards left in my hand and wasn't sure which one to discard. I told my Grandfather I wasn't sure what to do, and he said, "Oh, just play any card - it doesn't matter." So I threw one down, and it turned out to be the wrong one, because my Grandfather started yelling, "You just lost the game for us! How could you be so stupid!?" Ah, memories...
