This is the only religion I cannot tolerate. The Bible says to love ALL men but I choke on this one.

The most confusing part about Satanism is that it actually requires a belief in God, which has to make one wonder, why would anyone intentionally pick the evil side that leads to eternal suffering?

One of my friends thought it was a novel idea to investigate Satanism, in contrast with the Christian beliefs of both myself and my best friend, and purchased a Satanic Bible. Of course, it wasn't quite what he was expecting, as it had nothing to do with worshipping Satan, but was about self-worship and 'putting oneself first'. I skimmed through this Satanic Bible out of curiosity, and it seemed rather tongue-in-cheek, which was a setback for him also.
I guess it's an amusing idea, but some people clearly take it too seriously...

Right. My opinion, if you are going to choose to follow a religion you may as well pick one that has a better package than Satanism. You'd be surprized, some offer up to a 5 star 'life after death' accomodation. Course there is no proof it would actually be as good as it makes out in the brochure...sorry, holy book. For the record gothics are as likely to be into satanism as any other individual would be.

So I guess to some Christians and Catholics....if we're nor worshipping your god, then we must be worshipping your satan???  Is that is???  Satan belongs to the Catholic Bible - has nothing to do with other religions.  Satan is a scare tactic to keep you believing in the cultist ways of the church.  I am Wiccan - and Satan has absolutely nothing to do with what I believe.

Here you all go on again, ranting about something you havent even taken the time to study and understand, the lot of you should be thanking Satan for keeping the christian church in business for so god damn long. Satanism has no dresscode, or music taste, they ask you to be yourself, instead of blinly following non-conformity, do what makes you comfortable. As for the materials involved in satanic rituals, these are simply to aid people in achieving a certain mind-set, a place where they feel comfortable, they are not neccesary should you not want them. Satan represents indulgence instead of Abstinence, kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates. Satanism realises the fact that all of the 'so called sins' bring about physical and emotional gratisfaction. Satanism allows you to be your own god, instead of foccusing on non-existant entities. Understand and look into what you are discussing before contributing to discussion. And dont let christianity blind you.

Satanism is about worshiping one's self and not a nother being or entity such as a outside god. In satanism, you are your own god. I am not satanic because i don't agree with religion. Satanism is definitely a religion.

Free thinking and the search for truth (said to be the true purpose of Satanism) are great. Devotion to self is not. It is antisocial and the form of pride. It never leads to joy, only hopelessness.

If you're searching for truth, you need to realize that truth and God are synonymous. That is, all that is true is true because God makes it so. No truth exists, nor logically can exist without God. One's self has nothing to offer, since one is finite.

There seem to be two kinds of Satanism. One kind is the self-worship where you are your own god and the truth is what you believe it to be, and the types which some people say that you worship yourself. The second type is the out right worship of the devil. With the second type, I've noticed that there is a very high positive correlation between those satanists and mental illness! You would have to be mentally ill to want to worship the devil, and some people are. No sane person would want to do that. The devil is a coward and a parasite and only directly attacks victims who are weak, and the second type of satanists have weak minds. You would have to be the fool of the fools to be sane and want to worship something that is going to be destroyed and is evil. But the first type of satanism is the devil's way of attacking someone who is smarter and has a stronger mind, yet has had enough of religion. What these types of satanists don't realise is that they are worshipping the being Satan which they don't believe exists. Judas Iscariot the one who betrayed Jesus became a satanist the day he accepted the bribe to betray Jesus. Because Judas carried out the will of the devil. The book of 1John makes it clear that if you are carnal and worship yourself, you are actually worshipping the devil. Because the devil can carry out his will on someone who doesn't believe he exists and who worships themselves. Every single one of us was created for good works and to serve God. We were not made to be independent of God, and our free will was given to us so we could serve God and others freely and with more realism and purity, but primarily so we could serve God. Who would you rather serve? God - Who is all good and loving and represents goodness. Satan - who hates your guts and wants you to worship him because he is jealous of God and wants you to burn in hell, and laughs at the fact that anyone would be stupid enough to worship him. Or yourself - Who doesn't really know what is good for yourself and only thinks they know what they want, and someone who is weak compared to the spiritual world and can be attacked by a spiritual being at anytime without God's protection. We are weak and spiritually and even mentally blind, that's one of the major reasons why we need Jesus to guide and protect us.

I once knew a friend who worshiped Satan (for a time). He was, by all accounts, screwed in the head. But on to Satanism. What's the point of feeling misery while living under the illusion of righteousness? Also, murder, rape, etc. are NOT acceptable by any means. Remember, Satan is the (weak) opposite of God.

Before you people freak out, I am not giving numbers to those freaks who believe in a manifestation of any sort that is Satan, the Prince of Darkness, or what have you. I would like to bring to your attention the other side of Satanism - the one that does not believe in God or the Devil. Anton LeVey created the Church of Satan back around the '60's. This church, under my present understanding, does not worship the entity that is Satan, but the inner human animal. The instinctive side of the human being. Granted, I think that is slightly on the weird side myself, however I will still give this a high score simply to try to cancle out some of the ignorant votes given by the Christian who hear Satan and immediately soil themselves. Read up on things before you judge them guys...

Satan wants you to automatically be turned off by Satanism because it dulls your discernment of his main actions in other feel-good or almost christian counterfeit religions like Buddhism, Islam, or Catholicism, but his chief actions are within Christianity! If you were going to trick people into a falsehood how would you do it? would you be over the top like in satanism, or would you mix lies with the truth to fool people as is seen in many unbiblical sects of Christianity? Satan is probably laughing his head off at well-meaning people like Darkness 302 who make comments about a being they don't really understand. The first thing Satan wants is for you to let your guard down by getting puffed up and thinking you can outsmart him. That's when you're the most vulnerable. Satanism and similar occult religions are pretty much universally seen as bonkers. Therefore they really aren't the main threat. The place to watch for Satan is within the church. Is it any coincidence that Christianity and its sects comprise the largest religion in the world while the occult religions are sparse? If you were to infiltrate a religion which would it be? Think of an anglerfish that lures its bait with light. Satan disguises himself as light and deceives even the elect.

I don't have anything against most religions really, because I respect all walks of life. Satanism is, however, a huge exception. What sick and sadistic person devotes their life to serving a Demon Lord by killing and performing sadistic rituals. What's in it for you? Trust me, no evil Devil Lord who rules over a realm of Brimstone is going to reward you in any way, save shackling you in chains for eternity, which he would have done even if you weren't a devil fan. In my opinion, Satan is like the perverbial pirate who hires a crew to find a treasure, promising to share the wealth, only to shoot them when the task is complete.

sad... :( to think people think this way! i don't have any certain religion, but was raised metholodist. i only know i believe in god, and what's in my heart. churches have changed so much. you go to church for one thing,to learn, not to judge one another. you are the only one that will have to answer to god! just go to love, learn. to each their own !! people that worship satan... to each their own, but it's very sad.
